Type beats are destroying Hip Hop music. A Type beat is a beat that is heavily influenced by a specific, popular song or artist. These beats are created by producers and sold online to aspiring musicians who want to make music that sounds similar to their favorite artists. Type beats are everywhere, you won’t find a single producer out there who hasn’t made one before.
As a result, a lot of small producers have adopted a formulaic approach, producing the same beat repeatedly without exploring new styles or pushing the boundaries of their creativity. This stops the process of innovation, something that is integral for any kind of music. If everyone is doing the same thing, everything sounds the same, the only difference will be the flow, lyrics, and vocal tone of the artist rapping/singing over the beat.

I have been showing my music to people using these beats and they think its original. I do think its much harder to find your sound using other people's production in general. Really what artists should focus on is finding themselves within themselves, no beats or music creation will do that for them.
