The Orchestra Made of Trash

The Recycled Orchestra was created in 2006 by Favio Chávez, a local music teacher, who saw an opportunity to provide music education to the children of Cateura. He started by teaching music to a small group of children, and soon discovered that many of them were talented and eager to learn. However, the cost of instruments was prohibitively high for the families of Cateura, so Chávez came up with an innovative solution: to create instruments out of recycled materials.
The Recycled Orchestra of Cateura is a powerful example of what can be achieved when people work together to create something beautiful, even in the most difficult of circumstances. The children of Cateura have shown us that with determination, creativity, and a love of music, anything is possible. Their story is a reminder that hope, beauty, and creativity can be found in even the most unlikely of places.
