Of the two available Blackwing models, the 600RG (912isRotax) seems the better choice with regards to usefull load, especially when it gets registered in Germany
Do you have the precise figures for a Germany registered version

You may be right, I haven´t thought about how the engine choice affects the additive weight. I think they are only selling the plane with two engines now, the 912iS and the 915iS turbo, but both should be for 600 kg mtow. Before there also was the option of the 912ULS 100 hp carburetor version. For figures regarding price and differences in empty weight you have to contact Blackwing via their homepage etc. since I don´t work for them, but I´ll see if the PIC can add some more info for you.

Thanks, do fly a Blackwing yourself, or any other plane with the 915 iS maybe?

Lovely aircraft, whats the cruise speed and fuel burn at that speed?

Cruise speed is usually around 150 KTAS with fuel burn between 13-18 lph depending on altitude. On FL120 I've seen 152 KTAS and 12,5 lph.

Just to complicate matters, I have from an email the following info from one of the test pilots Per Norén: At FL95 150-155 kt 13,5 L/h 5000 rpm, and at the same alt 140 kt 11,5 L/h 4400 rpm, same maniifold pressure. So MP not exactly specified here, but he used ECO-mode on the 912iS which pops up on the screen as you reduce the thottle. So the idea is max MP without leaving ECO. At ow alt ECO-mode at approx 75-80% MP, at high alt at 50-60%. Speeds should be in TAS.
In the video from 1225 we can see 167 kt IAS corresponds to 175 kt TAS while descending with 4700 rpm on 24.0 MP at 3500 ft. Unfortunately the chosen Garmin-layout doesn´t show fuel flow in this film, maybe next time.
I´m was asking myself if the speeds mentioned by Elias and Per at those high alts shouldn´t be achievable in IAS, but up there you typically don´t get more than 55% effect from the engine without turbo. My guess and from what I recall from the last conversation is that cruise IAS in level flight is around 146 kt.
Looking in the POH the values for ECO-mode between 1000-4000 ft is: 150-152 kt TAS, 17,2 LPH at MAP 26 and this corresponds to 75% power. From 6000-12000 ft only PWR mode is shown and fuel flow there goes from 19,3 down to 15,7 at 12k (72% down to 60% power). The range is still the greatest though at 12k, with 1167 nm. 130 L fuel in two wing tanks.

    What is the price ?

I don´t work for Blackwing, but will give you what I remember. A few years ago the Blackwing RG was around 250000 Euro and the fixed gear version somewhere between 150-200K. At least they estimated such a lower price for the FG when production was rolling so to speak. Last number I heard must have been for the 635RG i.e. with the 915iS turbo engine (max takeoff power is 141 hp but max continuous is 135 hp, and then 600 kg) and was 350000 Euro. For the 600RG 912iS I don´t know. Check with the company/homepage, or maybe someone else will reply to you.
