I've had a number of issues with the superrack crashing or freezing. I was afraid to use it in a live show. I finally got up enough nerve to use it and the program wouldn't allow me to disarm the plugin chain on the live instruments once I loaded a plugin chain. The only way I was able to remove the plugin effect was to bypass route the soundgrid server. Even after I deactivated the plugin chain. The in or out button on the plugin didn't work.
I would like to know if there is a documentation page comparing Superrack hardware on Soundgrid network versus using Superrack performer on own PC. And USB latency versus Waves cards in Performer configs.
So this cannot be used without a host computer? I am hoping to be able to connect it directly to my Yamaha DM1000 and use it without a screen and using the DM as the control surface. Is this possible?
Hi there, thank you for reaching out. We do have a SoundGrid to Dante bridge: www.waves.com/hardware/hear-technologies-wsg-bridge so you can convert between the two protocols. If you have further questions, we suggest to reach out to our support department which is open 7 days a week and will be more than glad to assist. Please contact us directly: www.waves.com/contact-us
yes, works fine with Dante. I use DVS on a macbook pro and superrack all the time. no need for soundgrid converter unless you're coming from a soundgrid enabled console like the digico.
I dont think this new Ideology will replace the old good Hardware Mixer (analo and fully digital) ..., Cause U have simply to much different Hardware, to many possible Sources of Error...."
Waves - the company that abandons support on hardware they still sell. Soundgrid Impact Server running Soundgrid Studio under Catalina? Nope. Nor does it support Waves 11 plugins. Thanks for nothing.
@@TRC_PNW We realize how concerned you are, we feel you, and we are pleased to confirm that new versions of SoundGrid Studio and StudioRack are in development, with several updates expected this year. The new versions will be compatible with Waves V11 plugins, and on top of that, they will have great new features. And we have a clear ETA for you now: The first release in this series of updates is scheduled for Q2 2020.
s7j7d7 Indeed. I’ll never give them another dime after $2k+ invested in hardware and plugins due to no support for Catalina, no support for Cubase 10 (StudioRack STILL crashes it on OSX), and no support for Waves 11 plugins. Uh no, never again.
@@TRC_PNW Thanks for the headsup, I use Cubase all the time. I really don't get how Waves can make things so complicated. Driver issues, not knowing how to update it's own drivers when there are update buttons. Instead you get not compatible for an MGB. They have changed their authorization method so many times over the past fifteen years, what a waist of time. I doubt they sit with your users Waves and watch what they get stuck on. We just purchased SoundGrid extream server with an MGB to do 128 channels only to find out I need to pay another $600 for the full 128 I/O. I should have looked further into that. I haven't tried it but check out audiostrom.com.
omfg...i needed this in the early 2000s :(
can you link two or more plugin controls? for example to change the key for all waves tune instances in one go.

It’s a real pain that I can’t resize the windows or scroll down or across on my MacBook Pro. Will this be fixed in future updates?

Thanks so much!! 🫶
Interesting how they skip the part where you need to set the CLOCK SOURCE in the master IO settings, typically to DIGITAL.
How does sidechain work?
Can I use 2 servers as redundancy with an m32 and gigabit switch?
Yes

That is not possible. Running SuperRack or any other SoundGrid application requires a host computer.
Amazing stuff
iv seen a lot of people using this set up with a mac and was wondering where the best place is to get the touchscreen drivers for the iMac ????
u talking about the S1, S3, Artist, controller, dock, etc my dude?
So this is Waves proprietary version of Dante or Ultranet?
Hi there. Similar indeed. Feel free to learn more about SoundGrid here: www.waves.com/courses/soundgrid-101
Do I need to have a Server or can I run natively on my M1 MBP?

So.. Multirack, but we need to pay again.. No thank you.

Also, they never did fix Soungrid Studio crashing Cubase 10. Unbelievable. Well, it’s Waves so not really. Spend your money elsewhere.
