Absolutely not in my opinion. I loved their story and their reuniting scene melted my heart. And I loved to discover who nightsong really is, not a relic but a big angel lady.
@@Annabanana1612 I liked finding out that the nightsong was who it was, & that's good. I'm talking specifically about their love story. It can literally be translated as "LGBT romance & evil white men father disapproves" & what's the end result? LGBT power stomps on his head to reinforce "bad evil white man". At no point during the whole thing did that romance need to even exist. It came across like it was actually an after thought more than anything. Isobel could've just been a fan & faithful follower of Selune & by extension Dame Aylin & it would've made no difference to the game. The writer for that is almost certainly a lesbian woman with a hatred for white men, that's the way that whole romance came across, & the dialogue around it was fucking cringe. Individually the characters are great, but their romance was absolutely pointless & mundane garbage added solely to suck up to the Alphabet Squad. There's a lot of it on this game too, dude characters constantly playing romance on you whether you like it or not, even though you already fucking reject them. All the evil characters are white men & one white woman, while the heroes are either LGBT or black, or black women. That side of It plus the turn based combat & dice rolling bullshit ruins what is otherwise an amazing game world building wise & story wise.
@@Annabanana1612 It's not because they are lesbian, it's because the relationship comes out of nowhere & comes across as forced garbage purely put there to satisfy LGBT obsessed freaks & that feeling is only accentuated by the stomping of the head of the "convenient evil white man" There have been plenty of lesbians & LGBT characters in video games, these days they're the majority. The girl from The Last of Us is lesbian & so Judy from Cyberpunk yet I think both of those characters & their lesbian romances are fantastic because they're well written & actually feel authentic. If you don't agree you simply don't have standards. End of fuckin story
@@WildfireXYou seem to have a strong bias and a lot of bad faith... It's not "evil white men father disapproves" that's a very low-resolution wannabe-victim way of looking at things. Melodia Thorm (a Selunite and Ketheric's wife) died. Selune did not save her, and Ketheric grieved and felt betrayed.... But he still had his daughter who he began to depend on to an unhealthy and posseessive degree; But then imagine Aylin arriving and competing for her attention (Ketheric literally calls her "a thief" and claims she stole Isobel from him) and when even Isobel dies, Ketheric loses it. He blames Aylin, he blames Selune, and he turns to Shar out of resentment and grief. It's a very human (half-elf) story about grief, faith, envy... but you cannot look beyond race and sex apparently. It really has nothing to do with him being male, or white... or a half-elf. It's not "pandering" at all. I didn’t expect them to be a thing and I squealed so loudly after the Moonrise battle that they were all cutesy and in love and my heart melted for my age-gap loving trope 😂! 🥹🫣
Isobel and Aylin are wonderful. Putting the hurt on Ketheric and then Lorroakan with Aylin was a highlight. But that reunion scene was *chef's kiss*
Probably one of the worst written & lazy, obvious pandering romances I've seen in a game for a long time.
