Stop anthropomorphizing animals. It's silly enough when people do it with dogs and cats, but assigning things like depression to a goldfish is bordering on insanity. Not denying the dignity inherent in every living creature, but fish or not people. They do not suffer from depression. The fish was black because it was sick. Physically sick. It was put in a healthy environment and given healthy food and it got better. It had nothing to do with its emotional state. Just stop it for the love of God.

Many many fish are discarded before they are even dead. There's a whole series of videos of these kids in Florida that dumpster dive at pet stores and find turtles, fish, rodents, etc...

I love stories like this. In a world that can feel so rotten and cold, little things like this remind me that there are genuinely good people out there and it gives me hope.
Well here’s more. I’m a landscaper at an HOA and we go out of our way to protect the wildlife in the community. There are hundreds of different ducks and birds that live there like they’re in a sanctuary.
That is because your perception of the world is rotten and cold. Stop watching the news. That's a start. I speak from experience, it's helped my mindset drastically. I stopped watching in 2012. All the programmable garbage and propaganda in the news and even just the whole media in genwral and brainwashing through the media. They want to keep you feeling hopeless. Low and high frequencies are real.

Due to the extremely tiny size and the very limited level of complexity of its brain, a goldfish will never be able to experience sensations, feelings, or states of awareness that are nearly as complex as those experienced by a human… or even by a more evolved creature, like a dolphin, an ape, or a dog.
I’m not 100% familiar with the neurobiology of the goldfish, but it’s safe to assume that there really isn’t much depth in their feelings/sensations beyond the usual “this good”, “this no good”, “hunger”, “good there”, “no good there” states of awareness driven purely by instinct.

It’s funny but I have seen a lot of black goldfish go orange and even eventually white. I think it may simply be age, like getting white hair, but I am not sure. Maybe it is a change in diet?
They turn black from too much exposure to ammonia from waste buildup (lack of clean, fresh water).

Fancy goldfish (which was the type in the video) can live 10-15 years! People don't realize because most goldfish get treated horribly
