newly subbed! I can already see this channel blowing up having hundreds of thousands of subs. clear & complete reviews Chris! I just hope youd be a tiny little bit more concise than you already are, yknow for shorter videos hehe. Thanks for this review! P.S. I own the Air 2 and been thinking abt 'downgrading' to a lighter setup.
Thanks man, it means a lot to hear that! Yeah I do prefer shorter vids, but there's not enough info about this gimbal on UA-cam yet so I wanted to cover everything. Also UA-cam promotes 10+ min videos more so a lot of people are having to drag their vids out now, but that wasn't the aim here. I've heard the Air 2 is awesome but very heavy? They've updated the firmware to the Aircross 2 since this vid and it's definitely an improvement.
I am so impressed with the additional space for balance which is the biggest issue for me when i was using the weebill lab. It cant handle front heavy set up. But im disappointed with the jitter issue of this moza aircross 2. And smoothness should be the main job of gimbals thats why we use it in the first place. As of now i use moza air 2 and its doing good with my setups Though sometimes it vibrate which most of the gimbals issues. Waiting for this moza aircross 2 issues to be fix. Planning to buy one.
Nice and honest review. Good that you point out the jitter issue. A lot of "reviewers" dont mention that kind of important stuff. I did not had any jitter issues with my big ass Ronin 01. But all the small gimbals nowadays have that jitter issue.
Thanks man, yeah I pretty much only use small gimbals and it's a price to pay, but the jitters shouldn't be this bad. I've been testing since the firmware update and it's improved a bit, but still there. I'll be updating this video next week with updated footage!
Thanks for the review. I got the Aircross 2 and the Slypod as a combo deal in August I think but I haven't taken any shots with it. When I first opened the Aircross 2 and turned it sideways testing the weight, the power button insert fell out the dial...lol Then I opened the Slypod and found one of the screws for the tripod plate jammed in sideways leaving a huge cosmetic defect. Thanks Moza, that's just what people want to find in boxes costing over $800...So rather than pay to return it I glued the power button in but I still can't get full functionality with either a Canon 80D or a Canon 90D using an 18-135 kit lens, a 50mm 1.8 or a 10-18. I've tried mounting from both sides and have even tried with a battery grip installed on the camera using various battery placements. Nothing works that will allow a full 360 roll because the roll arm will hit where the pan arm mounts so it's just been sitting in a pile of other hated gear... But I suppose it's my fault though because when I looked at the list of supported cameras and saw the 80D right near the top I assumed it was tested and would balance in its stock configuration using its kit lens or at least with other small common lenses so I failed to scroll any further and read the list of actual supported lenses...of which the EF Mount has none...actually, it doesn't look like they support many lenses at all...so anyone considering buying this heavy, awkward, and possibly pre-broken POS should carefully examine this list: www.gudsen.com/upfile/admin/file/download/MOZA_AirCross2_Lens_Compatibility_List.pdf
That looks plenty smooth enough for me, unless there are shots where machanically, mathemativally perfect smoothness is part of the design for a shot. I would think in most low budget narrative film this gear would be a godsend. Great video. Thanks for being honest.
Mine has arrived! Jittery at first on the a7iii and 16-35GM but now its pretty much identical to the crane 2, i changed the motor strengh to maximum or 95, 95 and 85, also the mounting plate was the most vital part, its hard to explain but when you mount the camera it needs to be as far right on the L bracket as possible, if the camera is too far to the left that is what causes most of the jitters, I will explain in a very short video I will upload in a few days, the only thing disapointing with this gimbal is the extremely tight fitting box, means you cant run and gun with it as I need to adjust all axis again, the crane 2 has a very lose box so you can leave 2 of the 3 axis the same
Yeah I understand what you mean about putting the camera as close to the motors as possible! I don't use the cases for these gimbals so I don't have that issue though. The fact it can handle the 16-35gm and balance it is awesome though, looking forward to seeing your footage with it!
Hello. Could pls help me with my problem: recently a bought this gimbal, and using it with my Sony a6400 + 16-50mm lens ( that’s is the whole set up). And from the beginning, my gimbal started shaking, and even autotune didn’t solve that problem. So I should manually change motor parameters, including motor - power up to 10/15/20, and motor - filter up to 30/10/8 And such parameter’s works well, but if I manually tilt my camera down, or trying to shoot low angles, it starts shaking again. And I need to change the motor’s parameters that work for a specific purpose. Does it mean that I can’t use these motors parameter’s for whole shooting angles and situations, and every time need to change them, depend’s on the angle I want to shoot? Is there any universal solution, or maybe motor parameters that work well in all situations? The same thing happens when I want to use my Sony flip screen - gimbal start’s shaking, but as far as I understood it because of dis-balancing? And one more thing - every time I’m using inception mode ( with different motor’s parameters), and put the gimbal in a «flashlight position» while the gimbal rolling, I can feel kind of light pulls or pushes that comes from the motors, for a full 360-degree roll it’s like 2 pushes. So footage comes not super smooth and you can see these pushes on the video. If I hold my gimbal vertically with the camera looking up, there is no such problem. Is that a normal reaction of my gimbal in the inception mode, or it is because my camera is very light? Thank you
Timecodes in the description! What do you think of this footage then? Worth noting I've used a lot of gimbals and have been doing so for years so my gimbal work is normally really good. I'm not too pleased but it's just been released, so lets see how they can improve it. EDIT: For any new watchers, this video was on firmware 0.2. Moza released a new firmware on 18th September 2019 claiming to improve the motors to reduce jitters. I'll be testing this as soon as I can.
Hi Chris. Mine arrives on Friday. Got notification today. I have been watching reviews on Facebook and saw that you were posting today. Does not sound good what your saying. Rush to market to compete with Ronin SC. Which I considered getting. Reviews on that one not so good either. What sold me was the payload and ability to take the BMPC4K. Jittery images are not what you want for £425 plus duty. If the said firmware does not fix problem what are you going to do. Not much of a chance of getting a refund from China. I will watch with bated breath to see if the Firmware fixes any of the problems. Keep the posts coming on your findings. Others will be interested as well. Cheers Marco
Will you be using yours with the BMPC4K then? You never know, it might act differently with a heavier set up. My plan is to wait for the firmware update, test again extensively and if it's still not good I'll try and return. If they won't return it then I guess I'll use it as a B Gimbal for my a6500 and warp stabilise every clip! Haven't heard great things about Ronin SC either so Moza has time to improve and catch up. Thanks for commenting and I'll keep you updated.

Hey Chris! Thanks for this review, I'm notice you have different quick release plate, how can I get one of those? since I don't like to much the one that comes with the moza
@@ChrisSpice I owned already aircross 1 and i had no problems with it. I sold it for aircross 2. Need to w8 for 1-2 month maybe if they fix all of there problems i will buy it.if not then Gimbal S will be released.
@@quranzamani I've never seen the aircross 1 around. I think Moza Air 2 had issues that they fixed with firmware. Good idea to wait a couple of months!
I have zhiyun weebill s and I have the same shaky footage as you have with your gimbal. my camera is a6400 with 16-55 mm, very light setup but I wonder why its jittery.
The issue you have is that the 6400 and the 16-55 don't have stabilisation and although people say Sony IBIS is bad, I used the 6400 for a couple of days with a couple of different gimbals and it was still not steady. That's just my opinion though.
Thanks for sharing this. Would you advice me to buy this or the weebill lab? My setup is A7 iii + Sony 24-105 f4 (or 16-35 f4). Also, can we connect on IG so that you could tell me about the firmware update, when it comes? Thanks
I have no idea why my reply didn't post on here, I try and reply to people as much as I can but sometimes the creator app is not the best. I have used 16-35mm f4 with a7iii on Weebill Lab and it works absolutely fine, so I can imagine 24-105 is good with it too. In theory the Aircross 2 would be a safer option as it has bigger mounting space which I love, but obviously it's having some new product problems at the moment, I'm doing another video next week showing the difference now there's been a firmware update and footage looks much better so make your decision then.
@@ChrisSpice No worries mate. And thanks for the reply! I am subscribed and ready for your next video. I thought the Weebill had some hiccups, hence I haven't bought it yet
Dont buy weebill lab. Even if it can handle heavy load its useless because of balancing issues. It has too short axis especially the Y axis which causes your camera screen to bumb at the X axis. And you can only use short lenses because it cannot balance front heavy set. Up. Btw we have weebill lab but cant use it coz of the issues. so we had to buy moza air 2 which is the best for me. The gears that i use with it are A7iii samyang24mm1. 4 zeiss 55 1.4 Zeiss16-35 f4 And this set up is not working for that weebill lab except for the 55 1.4 coz its smaller.
@@krisg.5203 Agreed. Front heavy set ups on Weebill Lab are not great. All I want is a Weebill Lab with slightly higher weight capacity and larger mounting space!
Can you make it work with a phone on your camera? I can’t with a phone on top of my sony nex7 with canon fd lens. I hear the motor doing a high pitched noise. Is there anaything special to do?
Chris Spice yes I tried and it’s a little better with the motor on the left but still struggles. It’s strange because my setup is well under the payload.
@@rectape All gimbals seem to really struggle when you put something on top of the camera making it top heavy. This is why I think the features that require the phone mounted on top are gimmicky still.
hey chris I do a lot of slow small movements, just wondering how smooth you can make the start and end of say a pan. ie can you get it to ramp up really slowly and then ramp down even slower :) or does it just stop when you stop turning the grip?
I did manage to get some good pans, speed wise, which I didn't put in actually. My pan speed is right down and you can set a dead zone which helps with this too. The pans are still ruined at this point by the weird motor jitters though.
@@ChrisSpice thanks chris, I'll keep following what you're doing, but I'm asking myself at this point why I'm not just getting the ronin sc. I dont need the extra weight capacity, and that sounds like it only exists on paper anyway.
@@ChrisSpice oh thats cool chris! Good timing :) I shoot with the nikon z6 at the mo with the nikkor 14-30 f4. Very similar in size and weight to the sony a73 and sony 16-35 f4. I haven't ruled out getting a blackmagic bmpcc4k but as time goes on its getting less likely. I also shoot with the sigma 35mm f1.5 art with the FTZ adaptor. Much more front-heavy (about 800g).
Hey, is the Moza Air Cross compatible with a Sony A6000 mirorrless camera? how do you think compared to zhiyun webill lab? please provide another footage in the stability of moza air cross 2 Can you help me?
It's compatible but I think if you're running a6000, Weebill lab would be better. It's just a more smooth experience at the moment and this gimbal could be overkill. Update coming this week with more footage!
Hey Chris, what's your experience with gimbals? It looks like perhaps user error or maybe improper settings? I have done a ton of gimbal tests and this gimbal seems super solid so far!
I've owned 3 different gimbals and used them daily for shoots for a few years, my gimbal work on other gimbals is generally good due to practice so I'm 99% sure there was no user error here. Also note this was the previous firmware which had these results for a few people and I've been getting better results since the update. Not meant to come across as ignorant as I'm not perfect, I only want to make videos on what I know and I feel like I have the experience in this field to be trusted! Curious to know what you think of the gimbal in general though?
@@ChrisSpice Thanks for the response. Sorry if my comment came off in the wrong way. You just never know who you are talking to haha... Hmmm, I wonder what the problem is. I am just running some tests now. I'll be posting footage soon. Are you seeing any vibrations to the naked eye?
@@NOMOFilms No I completely get it don't worry! And the way the footage looks, it just looks like improper balancing so it makes sense to think that. So before the update on Wednesday, I could actually see the motors struggling at points and the camera moving about, but after the update I can't see that. It wasn't vibration like you get when you put motors under stress, just temporary lapses in control that cause this weird 'jitter'. I need to get my footage out after the firmware update as it's a big improvement, but at the moment I've only posted it on the Aircross 2 User Group on Facebook. Let me know how your tests go, I'm interested to hear what other pros are thinking!
@@ChrisSpice Hey Chris, I finished my tests over the weekend on a few different shoots and it seemed to do really well. I had to play around with the settings a bunch though in order to get the shakes out. Here is my review... I hope that you get yours figured out!
Cheers for the headsup Chris. I was planning to buy this Gimbal for a Panasonic Lumix FZ2000, ( yeah although a Bridge - does 4K/Log 10 bit 4/2/2 with a monster zoom) but looks like time to stay clear, irrelevant of issue firmware updates. I had contacted Moza ( web + Facebook ) regarding compatibilty with the FZ2K, as there is No info available abou this camera + compatibilty etc ) but got no response from them either. So think its another Chinese company "Lets jump on the tech already ported to china" but not QC'd properly prior to launch. RoninSC has issue's too. Ill check back later with you fella. Subbed.
That's weird that there's no compatibility info, but I don't think there are any bridge cameras on their sheet. What's the total weight of it? Yeah Moza do seem like one of these companies but I've heard they sorted issues with the Air 2 before - products now seem to come out before much testing and the first users are Guinea pigs. Osmo Pocket by DJI was an example of that but after lots of software tweaks is now a great product. I will keep everyone updated after the firmware update!
@@ChrisSpice Seems your wish has been commanded fella.....Firmware is out...so Ill hold off til you've had a chance m8 to test ...I got a comment back that the FZ2K should be ok - but with the caveat that the trigger will only work the on/off record. ( with the Gh5/FZ2K) Im not aware of what else I might be missing out on?
@@allymac68 I can confirm the new firmware makes it noticeably better, I'm impressed. I noticed the motors struggling at random points though so interested to see if that gets fixed. Yeah on other cameras you can control shutter/iso and autofocus. I don't actually ever connect my gimbals to my cameras, I just adjust the settings and press record on camera.
Thank you for your honest review. Did you try it with new firmware (0.3.5). Did Gudsen improve stability? I want to know your opinion because other reviews said a lot of about functions but not functionality.
I noticed this but I wanted to focus less on the spec sheet and more on the footage as that's what matters at the end of the day. I have tried it with the update and there are a lot of improvements with footage being less jittery. It still needs some work but is a lot better than what you see in this video. I'm going to post an update video ASAP with new footage from my wedding shoots.
@@ChrisSpice if you did a paid gig with it 👌🏽 that update is working good enough. Was looking to get this gimbal, I'm going to wait to see this footage

Of course. With gimbal off, hold down the record button on the gimbal, then hold down the power button at the same time until it says 'boot mode' on screen. Then open the app on your phone, connect to the gimbal and it should do the update straight away. Hope that helps.

@@StalkingProject Hello, best usability of any gimbal and it is stable however I prefer the Ronin SC as I find it more stable and the handle is just better, it also feels lighter and I think its because the Moza Aircross 2 is top heavy and the DJI is better weight balanced, but the aircross2 is a great gimbal, I just prefer DJI

The gears that i use with it are A7iii
samyang24mm1. 4
zeiss 55 1.4
Zeiss16-35 f4
And this set up is not working for that weebill lab except for the 55 1.4 coz its smaller.
@@krisg.5203 Agreed. Front heavy set ups on Weebill Lab are not great. All I want is a Weebill Lab with slightly higher weight capacity and larger mounting space!
@@ChrisSpice Crane 3 Lab? 🤔😄
Thanks, I hope they fix it. Looks perfect on paper.
Agreed, specs and features are awesome!
In the L plate. What is the holder's name?
Please tell Gimbal Price
Hi.... thanks for the review.... do you have any idea if this gimbal might work with a Sony a7S2 + 24-70 GM Lens?
Thanks for watching, it should hold this set up yes, their website has a full compatibility list!
@@ChrisSpice Thanks... I saw the list and it is compatible. Good to know.
Can you make it work with a phone on your camera? I can’t with a phone on top of my sony nex7 with canon fd lens. I hear the motor doing a high pitched noise. Is there anaything special to do?
Do you mean get it balanced properly?
@@ChrisSpice no I can balance it but when I start the gimbal then I hear the gimbal shaking and making a high pitch noise.
I'll try tomorrow although I'll be using a7iii, have you tried adjusting motor strength? Or putting the tilt motor on the left?
Chris Spice yes I tried and it’s a little better with the motor on the left but still struggles. It’s strange because my setup is well under the payload.
@@rectape All gimbals seem to really struggle when you put something on top of the camera making it top heavy. This is why I think the features that require the phone mounted on top are gimmicky still.
What would u choose between this and Zhiyun weebill s?
hey chris I do a lot of slow small movements, just wondering how smooth you can make the start and end of say a pan. ie can you get it to ramp up really slowly and then ramp down even slower :) or does it just stop when you stop turning the grip?
I did manage to get some good pans, speed wise, which I didn't put in actually. My pan speed is right down and you can set a dead zone which helps with this too. The pans are still ruined at this point by the weird motor jitters though.
@@ChrisSpice thanks chris, I'll keep following what you're doing, but I'm asking myself at this point why I'm not just getting the ronin sc. I dont need the extra weight capacity, and that sounds like it only exists on paper anyway.
@@GethinColes what cameras/lenses will you be shooting on then? I'm borrowing a Ronin SC next week so I'm looking to do a comparison with this!
Hey, is the Moza Air Cross compatible with a Sony A6000 mirorrless camera? how do you think compared to zhiyun webill lab? please provide another footage in the stability of moza air cross 2
Can you help me?
I hope that you get yours figured out!
ua-cam.com/video/jCoHQCiO1VY/v-deo.html
@@ChrisSpice desperately waiting to see the footage with the firmware update! I have a trip coming up on the 26th and need to get one by the 25th. Which means I need to pull the trigger asap :) Do you recommend this gimbal for stabilization over all ? Really appreciate your work here buddy!
Can you tell me how to update a firmware on this gimbal
Of course. With gimbal off, hold down the record button on the gimbal, then hold down the power button at the same time until it says 'boot mode' on screen. Then open the app on your phone, connect to the gimbal and it should do the update straight away. Hope that helps.
Does this work with canon 5D mark 4 and 24-105 f4 L II lens
I'm not sure but there's a full list of camera/lens compatibility on the website. Sounds heavy though so I'm not sure
Has it improved with the new update?
Definitely improvements but still not crazy about it. Update on this video coming this week!
Great review :) have you tried/tested the Ronin sc? Would be great to have a comparison video between the two.
I don't have one but will be borrowing one next week so will do a comparison! Make sure you are subbed to see it :)
great review I am also using Moza product for more than 3 years and I have Moza Air 2 and Moza AirCross 2. I like AirCross more then Moza Air 2 ))
This is my first Moza product! Why do you prefer Aircross over Air 2?
@@ChrisSpice May be because of Weight and Extra Features
Can you tell me what charger do you use for the battery please?
It's a USB C charger and it's included in the box!
@@ChrisSpice you're lucky because I don't have one and I bought the pro version with focus motor. Not cool. They were supposed to send me a dual handle grip for free (with their website game) and send me a second phone holder...
So useful video
Ahh mine has shipped, I have waited since April for it as I loved the Moza air 2 but a little too heavy, hopefully it will be acceptable, thanks for the review
Yes I've heard good things about Moza Air 2, do you have it? Glad you liked it, let me know your thoughts on the AirCross 2 when it arrives
@@ChrisSpice yea I had it for 2 jobs but returned it as a little too heavy and difficult to pack in bag, it had the best stabilisation however, I currently have the Crane 2 but I do not like the handle as I use it for fairly long periods, I will test them side by side in a few days when the Aircross2 arrives but the Crane 2 has good smooth footage so will take some beating
@@navpreetsingh8156 Helo! Do you have any feedback after your moza aircross 2 arrives?
@@StalkingProject Hello, best usability of any gimbal and it is stable however I prefer the Ronin SC as I find it more stable and the handle is just better, it also feels lighter and I think its because the Moza Aircross 2 is top heavy and the DJI is better weight balanced, but the aircross2 is a great gimbal, I just prefer DJI
This vs ronin SC???
this one
Waiting for someone to do a video of the moza aircross 2 vs dji ronin sc
If all goes well I will be making this video soon!
What sort of comparisons do you want to see?
@@ChrisSpice Awesome can't wait!
Would like to see which can handle a bit more weight, the tracking since both have phone holders that go ontop the camera and which does timelaspe better.
AirCorss 2? Dang. Goes to show their quality control already.
It's a small thing but had to be said haha
Jittery minute please?
Hey Chris awesome first look video. I just got mine in that they sent me and I'm curious to see if I'm going to have the same issues with those Micro jitters (they would drive me nuts.) I had the air 2 and had issues with that one as well.
Glad you like it! Did they send you one for review? You shouldn't have the jitters anymore, check my latest vid on the firmware update! I've done a load of pro work with it now and it's holding its own stability wise
@@ChrisSpice Legit watching it as I'm checking comments brother!! Hell yes, keep the reviews coming man! You earned a sub here!
@@ChrisSpice Trying to find the Moza Master download seems to me an issue in itself LOL I finally found it and then now trying to read chinese.
