I love this gimbal.I purchased this based off your review. It's definitely worth the investment.I've attached multiple cages with lights , Rode Video mics , DOF adapter and huge lenses with follow focus motors all attached at the same time and this beast handles them with zero effort.
I have the same setup with the iphone 11 and the aircross 2.....maybe in the future moza will include compatibility for iphone connectivity to the aircross 2
Great video. From your explanation, I presume object tracking only works in the gimbal if you are using a camera instead of a smartphone camera? My reason for asking is that I am trying to wrap my head around the idea of placing another smartphone on top of my smartphone because I want to do object tracking. The gimbal should be able to detect the device I am using to shoot my video and allow me to do object tracking right from my primary iPhone camera instead of requiring me to place another iPhone on top the main iPhone that I am using to shoot a video. Kindly let me know if I am mixing things up.
Didn’t try it yet. :) But with this setup you would need two phones as the MOZA Master app doesn’t shoot video - it controls the gimbal. The smartphone version of the app (that only works with their smartphone gimbals) does shoot video and thus you can use just one phone.
Blake, so I can shoot video of myself, while working alone, and use my iPhone in one hand to turn the camera to follow me on command (instead of auto-track) like a director? I can talk to the camera as I walk across a room for example while prompting the phone to follow me as my thumb directs?
Thank u for your reply,.. by the way is the setup (rokinon 24mm+beastgrip+dof mark ii) easy to balance since the lens is front heavy with beastgrip setup?
Hey not sure if you can help. I have an iPhone 11 Pro with the Apple smart battery case. It’s around .90 inches thick. I also added a custom 3m smartphone wallet to the back (adding around .10-.20 inch thickness). So in total my phones depth or thickness is 1.10 inches. I have a joby tripod and have their thickest mount but it doesn’t work with my phone and it’s case. Do you know of any tripod mount that would be able to hold my thick phone?
Have you tried a Shoulderpod? amzn.to/2zFxmPV. And here’s a larger version too ua-cam.com/video/iXZAiYEmpbU/v-deo.html (link in the video description). Might also look at Ulanzi or the Manfrotto mounts. Haven’t tried with a phone that thickness, but these work well with the large phones.
Sure, I tend to make sure they’re in a cage or something heavier duty though. But it’s a good option for more filmmaking heavier style rigs. And then of course it works great with traditional cameras as well.
Great video. It brings me closer to conclude my search, but I have some questions. I am looking for a gimbal that I can control via phone or a separate controller. The intend of the gimbal is to use it remotely to take pictures of objects on the mining site that are difficult to access or where we cannot stick our hands because of the risk of injury. We would like to mount a phone on it to take pictures. The idea is to use 2 phones one which will be mounted on a gimbal and one for controlling the gimble movement and having a live view of what the camera can see and of course be able to control the phone camera basic functions. Alternatively use some kind of controller to operate the gimble movement and use the second phone to control the live view from the phone mounted on the gimbal. Do you know of any good solutions or suggestions to my problem? Thank you so much in advance for any info.
This would be a good option. You’ll likely just need to put the phone in a cage to add some heft to it like was done here. Although you could probably strip it down and just use a tripod mount too, but these type of gimbals are designed to hold some decent weight. The remote control features of this gimbal are excellent. Other similar brands are nice too like from DJI.
Many gimbals you won't need a rig (just use a tripod style mount to attach it). If you're going with a larger gimbal then the Beastgrip Pro is a good choice or their BeastCage is also nice.
Great job demonstrating. Seems new gimbals are popping up every day. Not a bad price, $500, considering it can handle most any camera, including smartphones.
Balance and/or weight, but typically that means the balance is off. You might also try putting the phone in a cage like from Besstgrip or Smallrig to make it a larger setup.
Yes. But it’s a large gimbal that I tend to use with larger setups. Maybe check out the Crane M3 for a better iPhone gimbal that still carries some weight… ua-cam.com/video/S304iLKg0kE/v-deo.htmlsi=tloC1UfFuWH5r7AQ
@@iphoneographers sorry for spamming lol but also I will be using iPhone 14 pro max with lenses and case and it’s more for film making not influencer type content
If you like a more compact setup then go with the Weebil S as it will hold that payload fine. It’s also less expensive. The Moza is great and better for bigger camera setups.
We have a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and the Moza holds it nicely, so it’s better in that regard for us. But it can be bulky and on the heavy side for sure. With your setup the Zhiyun is a good choice and will save you $$$ too.

Haven’t tried that, but it has a panorama feature and you can also set points for it to move to (or manually control it) so it should do this or a variation of it.
Didn't try to mount it on a monopod and make passes from a height. I wonder if it will withstand the horizontal load of the steadicam if you attach it to the monopod, make a run behind the actor and then lagging behind raise him up, like a crane)
iPhoneographers Sadly, I work an average of 73 hrs per week... Between that, the gym and church I barely have enough time to watch videos let alone make my own. I miss it though, need to make more free time available to do the things I enjoy. Cheers.

Buongiorno video fantastico, ho una domanda… ma dove posso trovare la piastra per iPhone?
Hi.
Does it support video & photo taking with an iphone with the buttons on the gimbal?
Best regards
Hi, is there any chance of you doing a video showing us how to do a rig like the setup for the feature film ‘The Creator’?
This is a similar setup to what they used, but of course with a phone versus a Sony FX3. But you could put a small mirrorless camera on this too.
Great! Amazing! Funtastic functions. Worth using!

Thanks for the great tips... May i know what is best gimbal for beastgrip rig+dof mark ii+ and rokinon 24mm lens? Thank u before
This size is what you’ll need. Look at this or DJI Ronin or larger Zhiyun. They’re all solid options.
