The canals I often fish are tight circuits meaning at out going tide the current often rips through to go out to the Nerang River. During these times it’s extremely hazardous to paddle back in against it because if you can’t make it and turn sideways you’d flip. These little rapids litter the Gold Coast Canal systems. Some are really nasty
