i really hope they make the Sun ending where Mr Blue eyes promises cure the canon ending, Johnny is beyond the wall with alt his story is over, arasaka is in shambles. imagine second game picking up at the end of sun ending, you infiltrate that place, you're cured. and you can import older saves from first game, based on your romances etc.. when you come back things are different, rogue could be alive, or not, you know what i mean. so yeah V becoming a Night City legend continuing to be a merc is the only way a second game with V would make sense. and i really hope alt is the next antagonist. we could still see johnny but his story is over, he is absorbed into alt
@@plasticelephant1969 There are so many different stories that can be told in the world of Cyberpunk. I personally think that they should just leave V's story open-ended and focus on other people, perhaps in a different time period.
@@Sole_Samurai it is the project name for the cyberpunk 2077 sequel. Which is being developed on unreal engine 5. currently in a conceptual design phase.
There's no reason as to why RedEngine would have a problem with rendering Crystal Palace - objects' size in terms of dimensions means little to rendering - amount of polygons does - and this is a very low poly model that is just scaled up. The texture mapping is also scaled, so it's not like the game has to render endless amounts of texture tiles.
RedEngine could render it just fine. It's issues seem to stem more for memory handling and calling functions as almost every single crash it has is tied to that. So, being able to draw things isn't the issue. Being able to properly handle tons of interactive systems is, however.
Apparently there a lot of places in the current game that are partially developed, but locked away and unused. I'm just guessing, but I would not be surprised if the Orion sequel featured an expanded, detailed and developed Night City, its environs...and maybe even a luxury orbital casino. I bet the CDPR devs have a whole 1000-page notebook of ideas they want to use...I just hope I live long enough to see them.
Actually one of their devs does lmao. He has a huge handwritten notebook of ideas and notes for different things with this game. Mentioned it on his stream once.
pretty sure the missing texture sections are supposed to be screen and thats why they don't have textures as they would likely be somewhat dynamic like the ads in the city
I think something we haven't really seen is the true scale of it. Clearly even the model used in the sun ending (having checked that out with no clipping as well) was way smaller than the lore/in game information suggests. It would need to be more of a small city or a least a full district. I would say the models used are just the size of larger (as you say) space stations. Still cool to see. Hopefully we see more of it at scale in Orion
The Cyberpunk IP is about Night City. Sure you can put a mission somewhere else but Night City is the canvas the IP paints on. WIthout Night City lots of the appeal gets lost and it gets into rather generic territory. Just my humble opinion.
I agree that Night City is as much a character in Cyberpunk as any human...but a side mission to Crystal Palace would definitely be an interesting part of a sequel.
I guess at least one DLC taking place in there was at least in planning. But with the poor reception on release, the development ressources shifted to fixing it for PS4 players.
Man I really hope space will be much more utilized in Orion. They obciously had big plans for it, there are space ports, rockets, 2 endings, multiple different mentions and lore bits about space stations, Crystal palace.. Space definitely should be a big part of overall Cyberpunk experience.
With all these videos of abandoned places and more terrains and facilities outside the accessible map, It really shows that night city was supposed to be a lot bigger than what it is now. Not that it’s small but it feels like there are a lot of areas were cut from the map for some reason. Too bad we won’t get any more content :(
It probably doesnt impact performance because it's made almost entirely of two dimensional objects with no collision and a bunch of null textures. While it's large the horse power needed to render is honestly probably less than one of the Mega building's you can enter. When you're looking at the bottom portion thats basically the basic Blender geometry with nothing added. The absolute bare minimum
Maybe like the Arasaka Battleship, it was planned to more of a part of a ending at some point near the start. But was scrapped and turned into what many things were in Cyberpunk, aka background dressing. Like just the thought of Nomad Pirate tribes.
I hope all the endings have some sort of tie-in to Orion and a Crystal Palace Heist. Make them their own lifepaths/fully-fleshed out prologues with interweaving narrative bits. Temperance (Johnny): "Alright Blue Eyes, you promised I'd get V back. How do we do it, and why did you call me back to this godforsaken city?" Tower (V): "Arasaka, Militech... the NUSA. I am not friends of any of these fuckers, but you promised me the implants and the friend the FIA took from me. I'm tired of being lied to." Devil(V): "They couldn't save my life, tried to take it from me. And looking down at the Earth, I had given up all hope. Can you really save my life, Blue Eyes?" The Sun (V): Literally just the exact same tie-in from the base game, no imagination needed there. The Star (From Your Lover): "V... you promised me that we wouldn't go back, that you'd spend the rest of your time with people that love you. Why are you bothering with this wild goose chase? That phone call could just be Arasaka in disguise!"
Interesting, because I thought the Crystal Palace you see in one of the endings I understood was not full size but a much smaller model and made it look far away with an optical illusion. So what's this full size one for?
Oh no it’s definitely big. Probably the same size if not a slightly bit smaller than the AMM spawnable one. But you’re right, why two different models?
My question is, in the water on the boundary of Night City, what are those tower-looking things jutting out of the water? Ever since the game was launched, I've always wondered this, especially when riding in Kerry's boat.
it makes me excited for orion, im sure that if they were gonna scratch the idea they could just scratch it, but they mention it a lot. Seems like alluding to orion, esp with the space name and all that,
An absolutely gorgeous space station, would be criminal not to feature it more in the cyberpunk franchise. Or just more space in general, like around night city we find shards telling the story of the O'neil cylinder space stations and of course cyberpunk edgerunners Arasaka moon base, space has a lot of potential in cyberpunk.
I'd assume it just being polygons and some 2d assets jumbled together with no animations, details, collision, and physics , is probably why the engine has no problems loading it.
I saw this space casino....right after I ended my game play ...the cutscene showed "V" in a astronaut suit heading straight towards the casino.....but did she really make it over there cuz as I remember it she was coughing which I assume she was losing oxygen in her suit.....this structure is interesting....neon lights in space..... 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I remember in that ending "V" never remove the relic and only have short amount of times to live, that also he/her last gig i think (if i remembered wrong then I'm sorry)
@@Stayinl The Sun ending. Johnny went to Mikoshi so it's just V. After Johnny is gone, V has been more reckless with jobs as the top dog of Afterlife, so they took their most dangerous mission yet: heist to the Crystal Palace. As for whether they make it, who knows. I get why you get mixed up. There are quite a few endings. The Devil ending V is also in space (not Crystal Palace), but doesn't have much time left so maybe you mixed the two together.
Not surprising to me at all. The dumpster fire that is Cyberpunk 2077 was pretty clear at launch that the devs didn't give a shit about the players. It was literally a money grab imo.
Would be shocked if Crystal Palace isn’t in Orion

I'd have loved a mission there, can imagine it would have been fun
You've seen it. In Hansen casino. It was North oak casino, then crystal Palace casino, then ended up in phantom liberty. What was left of it
@@genadiyrool what? the crystal palace is literally in outer space
This place really reminds me of the space casino in Cowboy bebop
It might have been a direct inspiration, however the cowboy bebop casino was more "extra" while cyberpunk keeps the slick, pronounced corpo style
i wish cyberpunk had more big heist moments in places like these

dude theres no lag cus its low poly xD, just as difficult to render as a random can on the street
