So I have a suggestion on how to use because I had the same issue lol Use it in shower before conditioner! Leave it in for 4 minutes because that’s all it needs just to work & then you can use your conditioner and rinse out + style as usual. And yes you can do this - I follow another channel and she got that direction directly from the creators of the product Hope that helps, I loved it when I did!
Oooo thank you! I’m going to try that next time. I was like this can’t be what the girls are raving about. I’ll let you know how it works next time I use it. ❤️
I suggest checking out their site. There is more information and tips on using their product. For example, you can rinse the K18 out after leaving it in. I use it like they suggest after shampooing. Then leave it in for 4 to 30 minutes. Afterwards, rinse my hair. I have even applied a moisturizing conditioner after, rinse it, and then blow dryer and flat ironed my hair. My hair was very healthy looking and full of volume. Anyway, it is a great treatment !
I did the same thing used too much, and my hair felt weird. But when I used it as directed, I saw results and it felt great. The problem is most people are used to applying a lot of conditioner and they try applying this product the same way.
Agree. Products should first be used as directed, they have formulated by chemists for a reason, then later if after giving the product a chance as directed once can tweak and experiment.
K18 should look like a white matte/powdery/ chalk paste after rubbing in hands then apply it to hair. I section mine in 4 as I have natural Afro hair. My hairs curl is over popping since using k18with olaplex 3 & 6 interchangeably as I blow dry and straighten my hair regularly on my natural hair. My hair is strong and healthy from using them all right . 😊❤👩🏾
I think for such a small amount of product its probably best to part your hair and apply section by section that way you can make sure your getting all your hair strands
Yeah I saw that too & none of the things it’s supposed to help with were really an issue for me to start with. I do think I’m going to try it again though
I saw this at Sephora and when I read “don’t condition” I put that right back on the shelf. But my hair isn’t chemically damaged so I guess this is something I can pass on. Loved your honest review though.
You can still use this even if you don’t have chemical damaged hair. It helps with split ends and breakage as well ! Also there’s evidence that you can most definitely condition. After 4 minutes of leaving the hair mask in your hair it doesn’t leave you hair even after you rinse it. So you can condition your hair afterwards !
I have been loving K18! I also use the detox shampoo to clarify before applying the leave in. I have alot of hair and skipping the conditoning/deep conditioning step is a Time Saver IYKYK! Love your hair and channel. ❤️
@@twitterblackdove My hair hated ABC (acidic bonding concentrate) it was so tangly and dry. I gave it to my little brother, who has oily & coily hair. His hair is currently thriving! K18 is great for my color streak and retaing length and thickness from roots to ends.
@@NiaraAlexis I have the sample sizes of the K18 combo for a few months now, will use it after my retouch. Returned the Redken Acidic Bonding because it was underwhelming for the price. Loving: Hask Tea Tree & Rosemary shampoo, TGIN Rosewater shamp & deep condish, Pantene Rescue Shot (TY 👍🏾), Kenra Daily Provision leave-in. Last but not least, I'll be relaxing myself using phytospecific Index 1. This is protective style month for you, right?
one thing I learned about repair products is they work better for damaged hair and must be used consistently so if your hair usually looks good and healthy, shiny, and bouncy with regular products you won't notice a big difference. You might just get stronger hair though. I wish I didn't give up on olaplex when I didn't see immediate results, I should have used it consistently.
No. Olaplex doesn’t work for hair with lanthionon bonds due to hydroxide relaxers. K-18 is just way too expensive!!! You will do well with sulfate free shampoo, protein free deep condition, and hair serum. 🎉
Firstly lovvvee your hair. Secondly I am also relaxed and I have tried this product, I used it for over 6 months and maybe I was doing it wrong but it did nothing but dry out my hair. My hair was dull and dry, I have given it a good go but it’s a no from me and I am now back to my conditioners and deep conditioning masks trying to get my hair back to it’s former glory. For the price of this product it’s not worth it from my experience.
I thinking you have to run your hands longer to activate the mask before putting it on your hair. It’s supposed to become foamy and you won’t need to pump that much product
I had thought about trying something from them but I don't wanna keep repurchasing something that pricey that I may or may not get results from. I knew you were gonna wash your hair, lol. The thing is is that you know your hair and if you didn't feel like it made a difference it probably didn't. Are you going to continue to use it? Thanks for giving it a go. 💜
I feel like I’m going to try it one more time because I used so much. But I didn’t feel like it made that big of a difference (kinda feel the same way about olaplex products too but I haven’t used those in a while)
My stylist sold me on this about a month back and she told me do it with all of your washes 3-5 and then just once a week. A little is a lot blah blah… and honestly I use too much product generally but my hair feels so much lighter, smoother, and silkier. Gonna go back for that bigger bottle once I know how it works.
I’ve watched other videos, and people rinse it out and then use a conditioner and or deep conditioner. And they said it was better and they didn’t have the same issues that you did.
The problem is that you didn't apply the product correctly, way too many pumps. You have to start with a pump and rub your palms vigorously in order to distribute the product easily covering your hair with easy. I think 3 pumps will work.
You put too much on in one section you should section. Use One pump keep rubbing to spread more product. Less pumps use for 4-6weeks then judge as shown on box
So I have a suggestion on how to use because I had the same issue lol

Thank you for posting this! So many people are confused and think that you can’t use a rinse-out conditioner afterwards.

K18 works great on my natural head of hair...been using for little over a year and it works for me
I need to try it again!
@@NiaraAlexis it's an investment but in my case I feel the benefit is worth the cost.

Have you ever used Redken Acidic Bonding system? If so, how does it compare to K18?
@@twitterblackdove I’ve never used it

Thanks for honestly reviewing this product. You have beautiful hair and I trust your judgement.
Thank you that means so much 🥹
I find that after using it, my hair sheds less when I comb it. Plus, it has gotten stronger. It doesn't snap easily.
Appreciate the review girl! I’m on the fence about this product, specially because of the price point.
Girl! You just kept pumping and pumping lololol 😂

You hair has always been amazing
❤️❤️❤️
How oftenly do you straighten your hair?
Usually once a week when i wash it
Ok thanks for replying ☺️
You have to emulsify the product first
Wow your hair is gorgeous
Thank you ❤️
You definitely used this wrong.
I know! I have an updated review in a more recent video ❤️
You should have put your hair in sections so you distributed evenly.
You applied it incorrectly.

When you pump it in your hands. Rub it until it look suddy.

I did the same and it makes a huge difference in application
I did rewash mines girl
No you're overdoing start with two pumps liquefied in your hands longer section the hair put it on a section and comb it in That way it goes farther

Or section the hair into four parts and do one pump each section
It’s supposed to repair damage.
You use waaaayyy to much product, one time. I don't think this is a review 😂
Yes I did I think I mentioned in the video as well ❤️
Pricey is fine if it works.
You used a lot and didn’t emulsify it in your hands very much, you also have to use a product more that once to give a good review.

You didn’t finish your hair.
ANSWER = NO
You used too much
Try using a little less cause a little goes a long ways and apply it in sections. If you use too much it has kinda a sticky tacky feel to the hair
I know 😩 I used so much I have to try it again
