  • Hey everyone! Thank you for visiting my channel to check out my K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Mask review. I first saw it all over TikTok and was skeptical because I didn't understand how that product worked and didn't see many UA-cam reviews. But I wanted to see the hype, so I purchased and started using K18 LRM six months ago on my relaxed hair.
    Purchased a small bottle of k18 leave-in molecular repair hair mask from Sephora.

    Thank you for this video! There is also a K18 mist (professional product). I used both on my relaxed hair and liked both. I even used it with Olaplex products and liked the result. Some ladies that have used K18 heavily, reported that their hair began to show signs of protein overload, so it probably should be used with that in mind. Cyn Doll has a great video on the difference between K18 and Olaplex.

    You are wasting so much money by not following the directions. You can get by using it less often if you actually follow the directions. The reason why they emphasize to NOT condition before K18 because you want the cuticle to absorb the active ingredient. It's such a waste of time and money (it's not cheap) to be using AFTER conditioning or deep conditioning, just my two cents.

    • @ulovemegz
      @ulovemegz  Рік тому +9

      Would you say it's better to use it before deep conditioning? Or no deep conditioning at all? I think what's throwing me off is the “do not rinse” directions.

      @@ulovemegz The default method of usage is to shampoo, do not condition/deep condition, apply k18 in sections, leave it, then style.
      Another method that is suggested by K18 is to leave it for 4 minutes and then condition/deep condition if you choose too. K18 say that as long as you let it absorb on your hair for at least 4 minutes (before conditioning or deep conditioning), it should be enough for the patent ingredient to absorb and do it's job.

    I’m relaxed and I’ve been using it for almost 4 months and I love it. I don’t deep condition on the wash days I use it. Although they say you can shampoo put K18 in wait 4 min and then deep condition. I’ve just never done it. It has taken me 2 months to feel the results I’m not sure I can say I see it. I’m currently 10 weeks post relaxer and I haven’t needed my ends clipped yet not sure if that’s because of K 18 but so far so good.

    I have relaxed hair and I used k18 . I fallow the directions. Shampooing, k18 and wait 4 minutes and then blow dry my hair . I did no like this products Firs off is way too expensive 😫😫😫 , is some how greasy so use little. And it make my hair somehow weak . If you hair is weak or in need of protein I don’t think this is your product is does not give strength. But what this products can do is making your hair shinier, soft and the ends will look beautiful. To me this is like make up for your hair it Makes look beautiful but some how is just make up is just an effect 😉

    Well, Ms, Megan... since you seem to be in the mood to try new things you should probably give Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate a try. Yes, I have used K18. I have also used Olaplex. I prefer the K18... and did experience the silkiness of the product, however, it opened up all my cuticles and they would not lay down. It kept getting worse but my hair felt stronger. Strange. I used it the way it's instructed on the bottle. The "no conditioner" part was a killer. It exposed the real condition of my hair. Then, I was introduced to the Redken. Oh boy... I tried it at the right time. The combination of the K18 and Redken worked well for me. Maybe the Redken will do by itself. I'll see. I'm still not sure what the olaplex did. All I know is that I had breakage and it did not help. It probably made it worse.

    • @kimnoir
      @kimnoir Рік тому +1

      I can't say I recommend Redken' s Bonding Concentrate line. There's nothing in it that bonds the hair yet its so expensive.. it's only good point is the low pH from the star ingredient citric acid. I kept going through all the ingredients to find the star bonding ingredient (like in K18 or Olaplex) because I was shocked to find that the star ingredient was citric acid. I couldn't stop laughing 😂 It's so expensive for no reason. No a bad product but not worth it and contains false advertising.
      It is in no way a bonding treatment but has lots of conditioners that are good for the hair. Instead, I'd recommend bondbar.
      Edit: Did you use olaplex correctly? I have virgin hair (medium porosity, 3C - 4C, super thick, you know how it is with curly hair), but it worked super well for me. Curly Hair might give me some leeway because I have more disulfide bonds in my hair than people with looser hair patterns. My routine is:
      1. Light washing/shampoo of my hair
      2. Apply No.0 to mid of hair
      3. Prayer hands method/rake through hair
      4. Steam for a little while then apply (shower cap, 3 scarves, silk cap, & another shower cap... I know... but heat is good for blood circulation & penetration! Wanna get the best out of it) For 90 minutes
      5. Super lightly apply no.3 to mid of hair
      6. Prayer hands method/rake through hair
      7. Steam 90 mins again and watch Netflix again lol
      8. Wash Out (super important! This is not a leave-in treatment, your hair will fall out.)

      @@kimnoirhello. Your thoughts on The Redken ABC are interesting. I purchased the professional version after having a treatment done by a professional stylist ( friend) in her salon. Now at home I am not impressed by the lack of results I have used the protein/ moisture combo thus far. I may try the moisture treatment on wash day, but my suspicion is the Redken ABC is overrated.

    Every time I hear someone use K18 as a leave in conditioner I just can't go further. It's simply not a conditioner, so whatever results come from using it as one aren't telling of what the product actually does within a good routine. If you normally use conditioner, but treat this as the replacement for that, you are getting distorted results.

  • @clipinqueen
    @clipinqueen 2 місяці тому +1

    Sorry, but this is a terrible review. LOL! you didn't use it as per the instructions, which is fine if you aren't giving feedback or a review on it. You're not meant to use it after conditioning or deep conditioning. You miss the point of it: it is meant to be used as the hair mask not AFTER the hair mask.
