    I love that Rich doesn't go off on some show-off soloing trip that makes my head spin like other teachers on UA-cam. Top notch teacher. Thanks for sharing your time and expertise.

    What's interesting how the Am pentatonic kind of forces the CMaj to resolve itself back to the Am. The tension of the CMaj forces resolution to the minor scale.

      @@richbrownbassWhy is the Major scale different on the Bass then on the guitar they both same strings and notes? Minor Pentatonic scale looked to be same as guitar scale. Hard to see what finger is on what note sometimes. 40 year guitar playing switching to Bass but was mostly a Rhythm guitar player. Back and hands at 67 yrs old say switch to Hofner Bass!!

    So essentially the Major Scale(C) notes work for the Relative minor(Aminor) pentatonic as well? Have only been at Bass for 4 months, but have played piano 40yrs so i get theory. Weirdly, i never official dived into Pentatonics

    • @richbrownbass
      @richbrownbass  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, absolutely! Because they're the same notes starting from different degrees.
      C major pentatonic - CDEGA
      A minor pentatonic - ACDEG
      Make sense? I hope so. Thanks for watching!
