  • Everyone has heard the expression, comparison is the thief of joy.
While true, there are many layers to this I thought worth exploring.

There is so much to digest with this one. This video will be bookmarked and shown to my kids repeatedly. There is no metaphor or no comparison to your videos. Well done sir.

This reminds me of "imposter syndrome" which is something I'd never heard of before about 2020, and yet it's now a trending affliction.
It also reminds me of a CS Lewis quote: "Humility isn't thinking less of yourself. It's thinking of yourself, less."
I fail at this. A lot.

I watched this again today and I'm reminded of this wisdom: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.
Maybe it's trite. But I like it anyway.

Love the idea of comparison vs inspiration. The opposite of jealousy- vicarious joy- is what I go for.

This video is awesome! Another related point to comparison is peer pressure, not so much so in every day general aviation, but in our daily personal and professional lives. I try very hard to steer away from this!

Love the close up of the turn signal/marker light. Great video, sir. Extremely deep and meaningful as always. 😊

Really needed the last line. I’m at the point in my flight training in hours and $ that I thought I’d have soloed. I’m close, but not quite. I know being in my 50’s it will take time, but comparison is a, well, you know….

as someone close to getting CFI done I find I am able to paint pictures with analogies...also when I do tech support for my living...funny you said pushing the shopping cart backwards is like a tailwheel plane on the ground as I also started tailwheel this year...I thought the same thing this weekend

also I live in an airport community...easy to think I am just the little Cessna guy around all the Bonanza pilots but when I compare me vs me a year ago that is when I feel proud...I am sure you can think back to you now vs a year ago
