  • Installing an Undermount Sink in A Butcher Block Countertop: Part 44 - RAM Promaster 2500 Van Conversion
Hey All!! Well… Today we are staying with the construction of our kitchen cabinets. In our last video, we went through the building of the actual cabinet box. We also added `face frames and started installing drawer slides. In this video, we will be concentrating on the installation of the undermount sink in our butcher block countertop. This involved cutting and finishing the butcher block…as well as cutting and routing the sink hole. We are really pleased with the way it came out and hope you get a lot from watching this video.
Follow along and you’ll see each step that we took to get this little project done.
If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below, and please give a thumbs-up if you enjoyed this video and found in helpful to you. Subscribe to our channel to follow along on our entire van build series.
    Blessings to you :-)

Correct, this video explained several finer details I hadn't come across yet. I hadn't even considered the inside edge using a router, guess I was gonna jig saw it but that wouldn't of looked good.

Yeah, the router is way cleaner....but, wow, it makes a mess

Another beautiful job and informative. I really appreciate y’all. And I hummed the rocky theme!! LOL Hope you tell us about the Faroe Islands. It’s on my list!

Beautiful job, Marc! Nobody can accuse you of not thinking things through LOL. Man, that last shot where you could see the overhead cabinets, the counter & sink, headliner and in relation to the front "cab", it is REALLY looking good! We are getting anxious as we finally have at least been given a "scheduled ship date" from Dodge of Aug 28 out of Mexico (of course it could be another 5 or 6 weeks after shipping). Really looking forward to the continuance/completion of the shower stall etc.
Faroe Islands! I saw a video on them and they look enchanting. I think maybe part of Scotland? Enjoy!
(96 is nasty! we've had over 90 and humid in Mich this past week too)

Oh man....the van will be in your driveway soon enough. Cant wait to see what you do with it. Yes, the Faroe Islands are quite outstanding......we got a lot of rain today but hoping tomorrow will better. And I love the reprieve from the heat.

Did y'all buy the fridge yet? Do you know what one you're getting? I don't see a video on it yet. Happy Thanksgiving 🌻🍁🍃🦃

Yes we bought this one. Just a note, it just barely fits.....I think we have it on. 4" platform and the butcher block sits just above it. But it looks and works great

Which router bit did you use? My BB is 1.5 inch thick?

Im so sorry it took so long to respond. We used a Freud bit. 1/2" shank. It cut through the BB like butter but wow made a lot of dust

Biggest choice for me is epoxy or polyurethane. I keep getting told polyurethane will not be water phobic enough to protect butcher block in an undermount configuration. Epoxy they say will work..but epoxy is more of a pain to apply. They make triple thick poly, I think I might do 10 coats of that. That's gotta be thick and eater resistant. Seeing you use poly made me feel more comfortable going with the poly, it's easier to work with.

    • @marctania2349
      @marctania2349  4 місяці тому

The poly seems to be holding up pretty well

I'm neither.....I'm just really anal about stuff that has my name on it. To be honest, I would do it the same way if I had to again. It was more work....but really looks nice
