In this video you’ll learn the three step process to get a job with zero experience. We will walk through each step with examples and additional resources, which I have also listed below.
I go much deeper than interview tips, personal branding, and improving your LinkedIn profile - that is the common advice that just addresses the surface level. You’ll learn how to show your true value and get companies to hire you.

Hi Madeline I’m currently a 17 year old that has a job interview coming up soon at a pizza place, I’ve had no experience due to covid or any skills that go with working there. I’m really nervous to go into it cause it’s my first interview I’ve no clue what to do or say so I’m totally lost 😞😭
How was it?
Great Video. I love your channel I am in the process of finding my dream job your videos help a lot. I am also a huge fan of Austin Belcak's blog.
Thank you for sharing this!! I only wish I had found your videos 6 months sooner!
Glad you liked it!
Awesome. This is GREAT. Your are wonderful. Best videos.
thank you!
Omg! You make sound it’s so easy.
Thanks for watching! I know what you mean, when I lay out the process it seems simple and linear. It really is difficult, and stressful, and not easy at all. But following these steps DOES work, it is a tough process though :)
Thanks Madeline, I'm even struggling with the very first step! OMG I better be more courageous.
I hope you're finding success cause I too have confidence issues
Great info!
Thanks!
Madeline look up the story of Roy Chapman Andrews and the American Museum of Natural History. After graduating from Beloit College in Wisconsin he went to New York looking for a job at the museum. He met with Henry Fairfield Osborn, he wanted the job initially Andrews was turned away. He then offered to be a janitor, Osborn saw the determination and said the cleaning the floors was not a job for some one with a college degree. He would offer Andrews a position, but he still had to clean the museum but went on to accomplish great things for the museum. Eventually becoming one of the curators.
I don't know if AMNH was anti-Darwin before they got Gould, but I hope your story happened during such a time.
Great Video.. Very useful.. I thank you a ton.. Love your wine rack and "Holy Canoli"!....How about the dwarf behind turned from blue to white.? is it the transformation power?.. still miss the dwarf couple.. Where are they???? Je les adore.. Tout le mieux que vous faites pour nous revient à vous multiplié... et Prend soin de toi..!
this is relevant to majority of careers out there but careeers like finance, strategy, operations the story is different.
Another great video! Do you think it's alright if I don't have a lot of hard skills as of now? I don't have a lot of achievements or awards and I'm afraid that in the future I won't be able to offer compelling skills or accomplishments...
Thank you! Hard skills take a while to build, and when I was 16 I didn't have many of them. Right now you should be collecting experiences over skills - shadow different professionals whose jobs you think are interesting, experiment with technology (just as you put together your own UA-cam Channel, that's phenomenal, and those are hard skills), and volunteer to help with things to get some baseline experience (such as volunteering to organize an event at the Boy and Girls Club, or something). Once you've collected these experiences you may have a better idea of what you like and what career you'd like to follow, that's when it'll be easier to identify what skills to build, but at this stage, focus on experiencing as much as possible!
Self Made Millennial thank you and I will!! It means so much to me that you are taking the time to help me out. I really appreciate it :))
thank you for the great advice!
Also, was it on purpose that the little leprechaun in the back changed during the video? ;)
The gnomes? Yes!

I have a job interview at a salon today. Please wish me luck?! I'm suuuuper nervous
How
What is the question I should ask to make an information interview? Also, I'm thinking about connecting to people from my target industry on linkedin and ask them, is it the best way? What would be another way to do that?
I am betting the best way you can do this is indeed LinkedIn. I would absolutely take advantage of that.

She said Holy Canoli.....& that's that..Sincerely the entire city of Philadelphia
Can I follow you around for a week? Seriously, you.are.inspirational--from your demeanor to your tips.
My name is Betsy and I have my first ever informational interview on Monday. I am prepping questions to ask the Director of Human Resources at Anne Arundel Medical Hospital and a confidence boost/suggestions or critique from you regarding the questions I have compiled would mean more to me than you know. Is there any chance I could send you these questions and ask for any possible feedback? Please let me know.
Hi Betsy, your kind words mean a lot, thank you so much!
Yes send them to me at smmillennial@gmail.com, and share a bit of context about your story and what you want to get out of the conversation.
Self Made Millennial thank you :) just sent you an email
Self Made Millennial oh... that’s weird it says your email address was not found or unable to receive mail. I double checked and had correctly typed in smmillenial@gmail.com. Is there another place I could send them to you?
I don't see it in my inbox or spam folder, do you want to double check the address to make sure? smmillennial@gmail.com
Self Made Millennial yup I just double checked. Tried to sending it again to but is saying undeliverable to your email
🏆
Thanks for the support Kumar!
I have a couple questions regarding my own resume if you could provide a few suggestions/answers. Could you pm me, please?
