The thing is, before, people's priorities were all about money and survival, what with the stock market crashes and wars and such. Now, we have more people who feel like quality of life is a priority, and while introspecting, they learn more about themselves, and are awakened to another dimension of thinking, in which they realize that most of the bonds they have formed are not worth much. And they don't know how to fix it, and thus the cycle of depression begins.
The solution is to simply spend more time with people, not their online avatars. Man is a social animal, and very few are capable of living in isolation. It's all about our point of view.

Being an only child and eldest in a joined family and growing up in between adults, I was used to be alone. But as I grew up, slowly realized I realized just how alone I am despite having so many people around me and so many friends...

This girl is amazing! I've been listening to her for over half a year and her songs are just... she touches a part of my head no one managed to until her. Then I discovered NF and my first thought was "This guy is the male version of Sasha." Like, no joke. Then NF drops the album with "Only" on it and I honestly thought I was dreaming. Wished her voice wasn't so pitched, though...
Both artists are so real to what they're experiencing and how they approach tough topics like mental health and different coping mechanisms, which are and so, so hard to get a grasp on.
Forget pop songs that hold your attention for 3 minutes. This type of music gets tattooed on your soul.
