I was interested in using hydrogen peroxide to sanitize instead of vinegar....since I keep fighting mold from saved seeds....Maybe bought seeds are already somewhat mold protected by some method I'd like to know about......
The University of Kansas Extension recommends straight 6% vinegar solution for 15 mins to sanitize sprouting seeds. Three tbls per quart only results in an ~ 0.1% solution... on what authority is this weak solution considered effective?
gotta watch this asap....my seeds pick up mold and bugs galore....they can't get into the seeds except the mice always get into any cantaloupe seeds which is their favorite and only.....so all of those they empty out.....Never dry seeds in paper towels....they stick to them...I had better success with coffee filters.....
