It’s sad how Balotelli was treated, we was a great footballer but racism really killed his passion for football, without racism always crawling on his back, he could had reach his potential. Thanks Vizeh for making this video. “No Room For Racism” and we mean it.
Edit: now coming back to replies I got, y’all are some sick, pathetic bastards for down playing Mario’s long experience with racism, how much brain dead can these replies get?

The treatment of balotelli will forever break my heart! An individual can only take so much and God this man took a hell of a lot 💔 Thank you for making this unlike many who just do the typical on how he may have acted at times and don't seem to take him seriously this was very heartfelt. Yet another banger from VIZ on a very controversial player, that probably sacrificed his own career because of external problems. He was a hero when he showed up for italy but then forgotten cause of his raw character. Still can't believe they haven't called him when Italy needed someone at the top. To most he seems uneducated and all that, but watching interviews with him shows how much he cares about his people and that the unjustified pressure got to him.

Mario is somewhat unfortunate to have been raised in Italy rather than Britain, France, Portugal or a northern European nation. He was given up for adoption and unlike a lot of western European nations, there hasn't been quite as much immigration from non-white nations into Italy until recently. There's only been 5 black footballers who have been capped by the Azzurri, so there's clearly a lot of social alienation. He never had a solid support network like other black players in England & France, where racism is clearly far more frown upon. Plus the Italian media have been toxic af.

We have our problems but italy/eastern europe are way more racist to the point this where teams are fined a measley 60-100k and refs not enforcing the rules to stop play. What a shame Balo was rejected by his own country when he had the potentential to be Italy's best striker of his time. they really haven't had a striker of his talent since. Karma

    Well
I am from his city, Brescia.
and I met the first time as a kid for a friendly match when he was playing for Lumezzane youth system while I was in another Brescia's provincial team, for my village (Castrezzato)
At 16:56 you can see him with Concesio calcio as a kid. Few years later (I guess it was year 2000-01) I played against him. The same year I played also against Manolo Gabbiadini in Zingonia...
Met him multiple times, he's kinda nice dude. Especially when you politely remember him some anecdotes, he laughs a lot.
Was Erasmus in Warsaw when he scored twice to Germany
Ever since I guess I met him 3-4 times between Brescia and once randomly, even in his Concesio.
We have still many mutual friends.
Last year (September 2021) passed by Adana, when I told random people I was from Brescia they offered me a free Adana Kebab, LOL

Not sure about Europe but I do notice that here in the US black athletes get labeled as "disrespectful" or "divas" for their behavior when white athletes get called "passionate" or "quirky" for doing the same thing. Even when we remove the outright racism there is a bias in the perception of athletes that we need to address.

Very nicely put. This is an issue that needs to be addressed - there's a reason they're taking the knee before matches in England. Racism has no place in sports - it has no place in society, and life in general. That shit needs to be eradicated. On Mario - I always thought he was a brilliant character. Sad to see how his career didn't pan out the way many would say it 'was supposed to' - but that's sadly the case for many of us - not just footballers.

Thought Balotelli was an extremely talented football, he was fantasic to watch and never knew what he was going to do. His relationship with Roberto at City was like father and son and something brilliant to watch as he was treat like a naughty child by Roberto and at times it was hilarious.
Its a shame his career and passion for the game fizzled out and was never accepted because of the colour of his skin, and something that should never happen to anyone in any career.

Him ruining his career has nothing to do with racism. His attitude is to blame. He was coached by the best manager in the world, he played in the best clubs in the world but he never worked hard. And he had many (also second) chances to prove his worth but he did not care. His managers had hard time to deal with him too. You can sympathize with him over the racism he endured but that does not excuse his laziness. He should have ignored all this BS and focused on reaching his full potential by adapting a good and positive attitude instead of complaining and throwing tantrums(to leave the pitch).

    • @Vizeh
      @Vizeh  Рік тому +8

By no means do I disagree that Mario’s career being the way it is purely because of racism alone, but it is a massive factor
Imagine on a regular occasion you go out on the pitch you get racially abuse, it’s going to make you demotivated isn’t it
