  • Steam showers are very popular and have many health benefits. They help improve circulation, are detoxifying and are very good for your skin. They also help relieve stress and encourage relaxation. This sounds like a wonderful thing to have built into your own home and it is!
The only thing about this is the steam shower must be built very carefully with a lot of planning put into it to protect your home from potential damage it can do to your home. After all, having extreme steam in your home is not good for the structure.
Here is a look into how we designed this fantastic steam shower for this new home.

Thanks for the video. Since it has been a year now, how is the steam shower working? What steam generator brand did you use? Are you happy with the quality and warranty? Can a steam shower work in a small bathroom? Thanks for any feedback.

Great video! I'm planning to have one installed in my home and my tile contractor was curious about waterproofing the mixing valve. Going to be using a Kohler Rite-Temp and he was just planning to silicon around the trim kit, is this sufficient?

Thank you for your comment! Silicon around the trim should work just fine.

I noticed your installing a standard pot light? Which model light did you use? Is it IP65-67 rates for vapor/waterproof? I want to do the same but I’m unable to locate a pot light that’s vapor/waterproof.

Hello, thanks for your comment. Since it has been a couple of years since installed this steam shower it is difficult to track down what light we used. After looking into it a little bit I believe the light we used was from Progress Lighting model P8247.
