Hi, I am new to 3d and compositing, searching for a solution which I thought would be simple to do. I need to use 3D models I have found free online but when I import them in Fusion they do not connect material nodes correctly and even when I find material for them they r missing something and never look like on their source website, but when I open the same file (.fbx/.obj/.blend) in blender they look perfect so I want to export everything baked from blender for Fusion to simply use it in 3D, is it possible? thanks.
Have you tried the technique of importing a 3D mesh like the one I use in this video? As far as I know, you cannot import a 3D model with everything baked in ... you must link the materials, after your import it on fusion. And also, 3D of fusion is kind of limited, in comparison with other 3D application (like Blender and so on).
Long story short, use Blender (Free) or D5 Render (NVIDIA) to make video using 3D models. But, if you are using it as a layer with other video footage then you need to take a snapshot of that they footage and use it as a image place in Blender for reference. It would be super nice to have one program for all that's as UI friendly as Resolve but the only true all-in-one application is Blender. The "industry standards" will never admit that though, including the very overrated Adobe "Creative Suites".
@@TechVideoStack , Fusion object import is designed with the assumption users are using a similar node based 3D modeling application in which Blender is the most widely used. I think when you import a FBX file its will automatically add the image nodes for you if you exported it correctly from a 3D modeling program.
when my model loaded it was different from yours , it was all over the place and i could not work out what to delete, had different boxes in than yours.
Are you using the same model as I was using? It should work exactly the same, if you are following all the steps correctly ... I worked on the real example, myself, when making the tutorial. Let me know if you succeeded.
Well, first you need a merge3d, camera 3d and render 3d node. You will also need to set up lights (if you want to use them). Lastly, you would have to use the transform 3d node or use the 3d transform parameters of the whole object, (or 3d transform parameter of each 3d part separately, for example: to animate the fans, you'd need to select the node that represent the fan and animate it by changing the 3d parameters like the rotation or 3d position).
Very cool! Lots of helpful details about working with materials
Thanks for watching the video!
First of all, great tutorial!
I have a question. Can you apply a glow effect to textures? Built-in fusion glow nodes does not work with textures
THIS VIDEO WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED IT
Thanks for watching it 🤩
Muchas gracias
Thank you for watching!

I imported an animated person moving through Mixamo but he is not moving when I import him into Davinci. Any advice?

I have heard of Blender, but never worked on it. Thanks for the time to share this information

4:22 I don't have that tab to change it to Shadows or lights. Davinci Resolve Studio 18

@@TechVideoStack yes , exact model .
Great tutorial. One question: If you want to animate the movement of the model, what tools would you use? Thanks!

@@TechVideoStack Thank you. I appreciate your help.
You're welcome!
Can this be done in the free version ?
Yes, it is all done using the free version!
