You're officially my "go-to" DR guy. Very entertaining and informative.
I second that! :D
Same Here
A touch of Blender (PBR materials) within DaVinci Fusion? That is AWESOME!
Oh man. I LOVE that you show the nodes zoomed in and everything. Because most of the times I watch those kind of videos on my phone and other YT keep them really small.
Appreciate the little more effort you put into it! :)
We need more content like this 😃😃
Solid intro to materials, thanks Casey, more on 3D stuff would be great
Very helpful, thanks. Please do make more lighting videos.
mind blowing! thanks a lot - I was looking for that possiblility a long long time. Very well explained.
Great video as always Casey! Keep making good content!
Really cool..
Show us more of this.
Definately want to see more of this 3D stuff. Great Video!
Stumbled across this older one ...great stuff! Thanks!
Yes, PLEASE more Davinci advanced tutorials. this one was GNARLY!!!!!!!
Thanks that's awesome!!!
More 3D stuff like this, please. Amazing workflow!
this is amazing
You make it very easy to learn this. Thanks!
I've been a bit scared of the 3D stuff. You make it so accessible and exciting! Can't wait to use this! Thank you
Oh I would definitely love to see some 3D stuff! And you're teaching so well! Thanks a ton!
That was indeed, quite sick
And it's excellent! Very fast for me because I have to read the credits. But I'm slowing down your story. Well done! Class!
thousand of thanks man,awsome
This is great! Would love to see more 3D fusion
Short, Simple & Easy to Follow!
everytime i watch your videos i feel like im on the edge of being able to do it and figure it out. you make it look easy bruda
I did not know that DaVinci Resolve could do such things. Many thanks for the tutorial !
Awesome tutorial! I've used blender, and now see that fusion can do it, great! 😁
It was a quick one, but brilliant. 🙏🏼
You are amazing
YES! MORE 3D stuff in fusion :D
Please do more 3d fusion stuff. Maybe some 3d objects blening into live video with reflections. Thanks a lot for your tutorials. You are the best!
I love the little songs at the end of your videos. LOL.
Brilliant!!! Ready to dive in and try to do the same effect onto a moving shape, say, a big guy to get a Fantastic 4 look. (Erm... was I subtle at all? 😄).
Thanks Cassey. Subscribing, liking and sharing!
Bro I m from india ... Ur really awesome tnx tqsm for this video ...
Definitely would like to see more 3D stuff from blender with resolve.
I love how quickly this texture was created and applied - coming from an After Effects and Blender world, this video moves me farther and farther away from After Effects.
Awesome. So now you could track and composite this into footage to replace a wall and then match the lighting :)
Great job as always - although this was the video that made me realize I will never be able to completely master DaVinci Resolve..
Very nice, now it's time to make a video on how to use this 3D stuff in a real scene. 🙂👍
Hello ..nice video..do you suggest a tutorial video for Davinci Resolve 17 please for beginner????
Fun tutorial, Casey! "wonderful news" lol
Quick note: You don't actually need a ReplaceMaterial3D node for Shape3D, it has it's own material input. You do, however, need one for Text+ which does not have a material input.
Looking forward to more 3D goodness :)
Love the content. Random question though. What key command are you using to auto organize your nodes?
Thanks bro you are inspiring me for learning Fusion
I would love to see more tutorials on 3d in fusion!
He was dragging with right mouse click and when releasing over the node those options appear.
If you're using a Mac with a trackpad, hold down the option key and two-finger click it and they'll appear. Hope that helps.
Yaaaaas
@@jarekm4744 thanks
That was brilliant. No need to use MO2 in FCPX anymore.
Hello Casey! This truly hepls, so thankU. I have a suggestion tho:
"Can u make a tutorial on how to remove 1 pimple on face in a video?"
*hope you'll do this some day, thankU!
Edit: (or you can send me a link if you have already a vid about the basics of disappeaing stuffs)
If I'm not mistaken he has a video on the clone tool where he does stuff like that.
Casey this is really great. Is there a way to use a black and white photo to create a displacement mask that can be used to create a 3d texture?
yes, thats pretty much what a bump map is. except a displacement map actually changes the geometry so to speak, where a bump map gives the illusion of surface texture in regard to how light behaves on said texture.
Can you recommend more sites for creatives? VFX and such....😊
Be good to see a virtual street scene made up in Fusion, with this idea.
So by filming actors against green screen, you could then place them in a virtual set, all in resolve.
can you create a video about displacement in davinci resolve
Casey, how can you use that background as a back scene for our viideos? Like, put myself in front of that as if you just recorded yourself in front of a brick wall?
How do you scale your texture? I'm currently using a texture of bricks for a vfx shot of a massive town square and can't figure out how to make the bricks the appropriate size.
Hello
Big fan off your videos
just wanted ask u ques
i recently bought a laptop for editing on resolve.
Spec ryzen 7 4700, 8gb ram, 512gb ssd, raedeon 512mb gpu
but whn i start editing resolve hangs up
Is it cause off my 8 gb ram r gpu?
Thanks in advance
Hey Casey ! I've just downloaded davinci resolve studio 17 and I don't know why but it struggles with some effects like "motion trails" or "stop motion" or any other effect . When I want to playback the clip where I've added the effect it struggles a lot . I've done all those tips to make davinci resolve work smoother and it still does't work ! I have even re-installed it but nothing changed . I don't think it's because of my computer , it has 16 gb ram , 2,9 GHz Intel Core i7 . Do you have any solution to that ? 😭😩
Mr. Casey I am ashish from India I am your new suscriber.
I need your suggestion. Pls tell me honestly that will lenovo ipad 330 8gb ram with no ssd , i5 laptop can run davinci resolve studio 17 smoothly or not. If it will run then I will watch your all tutorials at 1080p.
Pls reply .
Me: *watches the commentary on the Inside Out DVD where they talk about lighting animated scenes*
Also me: I wonder if I can do something like that in DaVinci with fusion nodes
Casey: YES.
Very nice! Side note, I would really like to know how you did the displacement (or whatever it’s called, the wonky lines) in the lower part of the video during the short VHS effect? I recently edited a video where I added VHS effects, but I just couldn’t figure out how to do that at the bottom, and eventually ran out of time so I had to skip it. I would love to know how you did it.
there are quite a few filters that will do that, even free apps for mobile which do VHS looks.
@@flipnap2112 do you have any names? I tried finding some when I added a VHS effect last time, but couldn’t find any that did that specific part of the effect.
Hi
How do you make this highlighting border in your thumbnails ?
Great tut but when I tried it on my computer it brought it to its knees - an i9 @ 4GHz with a P4000 GPU. Not the fastest machine but I was surprised how difficult Resolve found it to render (bringing the rest of Resolve to a standstill). Time for an M1 Max? lol
how to place logo or Text on water surface in Resolve???
The link to the texture website is not in the description
So now I finally figured out why you like fusion so much… You know every nick and cranny. I could’ve done the same thing in cinema 4D
Way way easier. And it’s funny because you say see how easy? But of course it’s not. But everything is easy if you’re really good at it.
Can you show us how to make Godzilla’s Atomic Breath in DaVinci Resolve
I hope you’re tracking me because I’ve been sitting here waiting for that next video to pop up so I can watch it but it’s not happening. I’m gonna need some compensation here, brother. It’s been about 18 hours so far!
when i downloadit in the file it says cube flat and sphere what am i doin wrong?
Can this brick wall be used on a podcast style background with green screen ?
Yes, that's the whole point! Even more awesome would be a fake 3D interior, e.g. featuring a nice fire place (made with particles system)... Maybe Casey could do a quick tutorial on how to make that?
Can you make the light swing
You do that by key framing the position of the lights. This is how I would do it.
does anyone know how to make a 3D neon style text? or do you think it is better to just make the text 2d?
I think there is a video by some other dude (s). I had the same idea as you to put a noen text in front of it haha just search for it on YT. I think there is a new one like 2 weeks old
@@Chris-bg6fl I've been searching on UA-cam and can't find how to make 3d text look neon 😅
@@Fjdt12 ua-cam.com/video/RuvjBAXj7g0/v-deo.html
Maybe this helps?! IT is not 3D but maybe you can watch a Video about normal 3d Text and combine both videos haha
now can you add a video on that beautiful wall and yet still see it's shape/contour... ha ha ha can we :)
Hi Casey if you've got 5 min for a comment, can you explain quickly why colors in my fusion viewers look completely off? I've tried luts and everything, but nothing makes colors in fusion look right from the start
check color space in settings, if you dont whant to think about it, set it to rec 709 gamma 2.4
Dude, whenever you sing a little song at the end, I wonder if you're related to Daniel Johnson. Just sayin'...
We need in depth lighting and materials information Casey!
Can this be used to apply to text?
i think u can do that,by adding a normal merge and add the renderer 3d as a background, and add the text as a foreground
@@muhammadshakaalkautsar5692 I’ll give it a go, thanks for replying.
Soooo when can we expect Godot and 3d tutorials. Just askin 😁😁
Please note to anyone using a Quadro GPU check your Memory size. My laptops GPU is a Quadro T1000 4gb. I can't use the 6k texture model or else fusion will crashing telling me GPU memory full. Go with a 3k texture instead!
6k textures are insanely too big and rarely needed. in the 3D world most people use VERY small texture sizes. if its a 6K texture you need for background video, probably should render a single frame and use it with green screen keying. to process a 3D 6K map is extremely graphics intensive. most 3D maps you see in games and some film are actually closer to 320*240 tiled, if even that big.
How do I contact you? What’s your email?
Lost... This needs "toast"
Heart I’m early ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Not the same without your face cam 😅
Yeah, what happened? He switched it up. I mean...it's cool, b/c it's easier to see the tut, but, he's a funny guy & I loved seeing his antics.
I know. I just got studio torn apart a bit at the moment is all, it’ll return!
