Monday I got a call from an old friend in LA. He is VP of IT for company that creates, produces and distributes movies television series. They have offices on W Olymipic. He tells me that people are afraid to walk across the street for lunch because of the "Heisenbergs." Apperently this is what they call the old RV's occupied by homeless methheads who live on the streets in the area around the building. Scary times.
My daughter and several other members of her church team go out several times a week to homeless encampments in Mnneapolis to take the Gospel message out.
No one likes seeing our country in this condition or people struggling..... but it's becoming more important than ever to live within our means so tighten it up !
I spoke with someone today who works in the Biotech field, has his PHd, said he's applied for 500 jobs, only went on 5 interviews and is still unemployed.
i bet if he grew asparagus, he would have a job already. PhD = Piled High and Deeper Experts aren't EOs arent laws Mandates aren't laws Regulations aren't laws LAWS ARE LAWS and we have this pesky thing called "the Consitution" to make them, or remove them. Tell your buddy to learn to garden or weld...we won't need a pipette after WW3 (and i was a bilogy major way back in the day!)
The beginning of the end of America's economic boom years has started. People are losing good paying jobs and accepting lower rates of pay, forced to start over again. Be ready to be a friend to someone hurting. because of this. Sometimes that means stepping into the life-nightmare of another. Be ready to lift the fallen, restore the broken and heal their hurting.
7 family members: 1 lost his white collar job and has had to take a LOW paying one, 2 were laid off and are applying for jobs, 2 have poor job stability, ONLY TWO HAVE STABLE HIGH PAYING JOBS😮 We are all praying for better times.
My buddies area, he has seen chipotle fold, outback fold, golden corral fold, Firehouse subs fold and JB's restaurant tank. He thinks Cracker Barrel may be next. Way less cars in parking lot.
Thanks Matt! You, JB and a few others are the Prophets of our time. “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Thank you, Matt! The word “stifling” that you used to describe the cost of everything is accurate! It’s coming at us from all angles. I’m in MA and the only people that aren’t too affected right now are the two “high” income households. The stress and fear is actually palpable when I’m out and about running errands and grocery shopping. I visited with my almost 80 year old mom on Monday who’s on a fixed income. We were discussing her food budget and how to stick to it in these trying times. I’m a social worker and I had an interview for a part time position last week and one this morning. Although my husband makes a good salary, the higher costs of everything is being felt and I’m seeing the need to increase our income. One can only dip into savings so many times when a good salary just isn’t keeping up with inflation. Luckily I’m bilingual (born and raised in the Northeast) and that alone puts me at an advantage in my field. Keep speaking truth because you are on point with what you are sharing.
Thank you for your care and concern for others who are struggling, thank you for your advice and thank you for your dedication to your channel and subscribers to keep us informed.
My area hasn't had the full effect yet. Idiots still taking on large debt loads, some in the past few months. They're completely obvious to what's headed their way.
As the Home Depot CFO mentioned its the interest rates and other factors has caused this low profit margins and few high ticket purchases, the executive is mentioning all corporations are downsizing, cutting back and hoping this election year will make a change. We got 6 months or less when we will go into a full blown depression or stabilize. All these executives know its political or they will succumb to the acquisition or liquidation. Not the stock market or hedge funds indication.
Wow, that is why I am struggling with landing interviews. However, this week has been different from the last 2 months. Finally got 5 interviews landed this week alone. Also started a business. I look at the unemployment stats for Washington. It stood at 4.8% and only netted 5500 jobs for the month April. There are over 100k people unemployed. I'm also scared about one of the largest employers in Washington. I cannot name the employer but everybody is at risk at losing their next month. Hopefully this doesn't happen.
The video quality and sound is good. Your child did a good job. We're seeing the inflation. We're still going out to eat about once a week. We were in a restaurant in the last couple of weeks and noticed they didn't have a lot of business. Sometimes they do. I think part of it depends on what else is going on in our area. Also now that we have warm weathe. I think people may be going to nearby rivers, lakes, etc. We're in an area where most people have had the A/C on for at least a week and we haven't turned it on yet. We open windows and we've gotten acclimated to warmer and colder temperatures. We turned our furnace off earlier than most people in our area did. We combine our trips. We usually don't go to a store on a whim. We shop with a list for everything we buy. We need a couple of new or "new to us" chairs for our living room. The ones we have were purchased from a thrift store about 4 years ago and it's time to see what we can find as replacements. We're looking for "new to us" first. If we can't find that we will be looking for a really deep price cut on new. There's a lot of little things like this we do and it's become how we live. We've found 3-4 of the cheaper items we like in the restaurants that we go to and that's what we order when we go out to eat. We always order water. The above and lots of other little things that we do is how we're still able to go out to eat. Yes, it may go on a credit card. If it does, it gets paid off when the bill comes in.
Yes the soda at restaurants now is $4 each. insane. We have a lot of resale stores here you can pick up really nice furniture at a fraction of the price .
@@oxtalks we start looking for used with almost eveything we buy. Lots of times we find it especially if we don't have to have the item in the near future.
RL down! - how will looters get clam strips and dump chees biskits into their pants and dine and dash? OH THE HUMANITY! They will have to go to Popeye's to get poor service, lousy food, and maybe some firearm activity. Maybe just roughed up at the drink station. I don't know. I'm just looking at prior behavior and extrapolating to current situations.
The Feds have also put themselves in a bad position along with the American people. Probability has it that this is not going to end well for most of us. I really hope that everyone is prepared (though I believe many are not). Witnessing fire sales here. Many people are shedding pets, recreational equipment, extra vehicles and housewares. Some even have their homes on the Market for they are unable to afford it. Many restaurants are idle if not closing-this includes Mc Doo Doo's and Doo Doo King.
You don't realize, your replies are helpful to me. One who possesses numerous positive qualities. To me, offers stability and hope. So sad, a majority of people are deficient in desirable qualities.
Yes, Matt in Beverly Hills and the valley there are multiple car chases multiple times a day. Multiple stabbings multiple times a day. Multiple shootings throughout the day. Many hit and runs. It is really sad to see what is going on to society. I hope things change.
@@carolgeyser5415I am about to record one in a few minutes covering Target miss and Fed comments on inflation. Should go up in a couple of hours. I will give you a shout today 👋

Sad. That whole area in LA is horrible now.

Wow

Yes excellent words
We are currently in a depression. Have been for over a year. The recession was in 2022. If you can't see that by now, you are blind.
I remember the 2008 recession, that sure didn’t look like 2022
I think 2008 will look like a picnic in hindsight

Yep but they are going to learn the ‘harder’ way unfortunately

Agree next 6 months will be telling
I’ve been self employed for 13 years but my customers haven’t so I’m always concerned about layoffs and employment
Yes good point. I experience that with clients because litigation is so expensive and they have an unexpected expense or layoff and can’t continue.
Thanks for taking the time during the busy season to make these videos.
For sure! Thanks for watching
Three of my buddies were layed off last week, no prospects in sight!
I hope they have some reserves and low debt levels so they can weather the storm for a while. 🙏
What skill set, what field?
Matt I agree with you, hard landing more like depression. God bless
It is surely pointing that way now. Stay safe.

Nice. Enjoy. Not too bad, little windy.

Hi! I mi
Iran president is also doing a hard landing, and he's dead.
Yes same place our economy is heading
WE ARE IN HELL !!!
Hopefully the 401k’s will be safe.
Anyone relying on their 401k is toast. Besides the devaluation, market crash on the horizon, and legalized bail ins, it’s going to get nasty
I think 401(k)s could get wrecked. A good friend of mine has his entire portfolio and retirement in a 401(k) and does not see this unfolding.
It does seem slow my child didn't get call for Walmart or McDonald's
Those calls used to almost be automatic
Fake new jobs report is sooo misleading.
For sure
