I've had a 2012 F-450 and just upgraded last summer to a 2021 F-550, both short wheelbase, single cab. I use them for boat hauling, both long and short haul. Always hooked to a 8,400lb Brownell hydraulic trailer that can load another 20k worth of boat on it. My budget solution for the ride is the Kelderman shuttle bus air ride suspension for about $3,500... the full link suspension is $5k. The only weight I have on it is the 30k Reese 5th wheel, a C&M aluminum flat bed and a 20k hydraulic winch. First run was an 11k lbs, 11' wide boat from Belfast, ME to Port Townsend, WA and a 24' boat on it's own trailer all the way back. I really appreciated the Kelderman! Only issue I've had with it is some weird front tire wear and a rattling clock ring in the steering column. There was also a recall on the wiper arms and the dealership swapped them out. Sitting at about 27k miles since late July.
19.5 wheels have been around forever. Since at least the 1950s, theres lots of tire options, maybe not in the exact stock size, i hate the stock size. 8r19.5 are a good size on these trucks and you can get them relatively inexpensively. Goodyear g633 drive tires are under $200 on simpletire. Great video, love the cut scenes to death wobble!
Thess Ford's are absolute work horses and will do mostly anything that you throw at it and will stack up the mileage with little issues. Not a fan of the detuned motors as opposed to the 350 and 450 versions. I've owned several and most were super reliable and extremely durable. Definitely prefer the 6.7 diesel but the 7.3 gas seems like a great truck motor too. The 6.2 gas motor is a great light duty motor, only had 2 out of 6 that were garbage, most likely lemons. Always ran full synthetic in the fleet of 24. Most were diesel and most regardless were reliable ✌🏽🇺🇲
Where can I get the back up camera for an F550. I just bought a 2021 550 and I need a good all around camera setup for plowing. Let me know please, thank you
No offense but I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I have never understood why people have such really nice very expensive trucks but they insist on putting some piece of crap Chinese made light bar on top. 👍🏻
What should I get for a plow light then? They were one of the more expensive ones on Amazon and they are way better than what anyone in my town has. I’ve had those for 5 years now and they still work great.
The cut ins of the trucks doing work and the death wobble is hilarious. Also great video
Ford has stepped up their game in recent years. Went from all GM to all Ford for our fleet.
Same here!
Thank you for sharing your review of this work truck.

Ford is Amazing my favorite trucks
Do you like the salter we still run airflow salters with gas engines
@@Suly271 yes I do like the electric steel and poly casters
Where'd you pick up the wheel wells?
@@dallaspowers4196 Raneys truck parts online
Ford isn't the one that came up with those 19.5 wheels, blame that on the commercial tire industry. That's a standard commercial wheel size.
Awesome video ! Thanks
No problem thanks
Would you ever consider the gas 550 with the 7.3L?
I would not!
In some aspects its still good for the lighter work because you spend 10k less and dont have epa def
1:18 holy shit batman.... looks like you got 8-9 ton in the back.
Lol literally. Was light tho because a lot of tree limbs and stuff

@ thanks for the response.
I decided life was less complicated and less stressful to just live under a bridge and not own a vehicle.
It is a better life esspecially because bridges are by rivers so tou might be lucky and get a fish
I like the black, but that may be because I like the 20-22 grill better
The GM 4500/5500 have a turning radius of 25ft. F550 is 28.6.
Chevrolet I assume you mean? Weird my town has one of each f550 and the new Chevy 5500 and they say it turns horrid compared to the ford.
in Mexico we load 10 tons
Hola amigo cómo arreglo el problema de la 550 que vibra al manejar
What's the mpg on the 2022
10. I deleted the 2019 and it gets 14
Which does the 2022 get 10 or 14

I want a review for the rams like this lmfao
Never been a fan of ram. Transmissions are real bad in the heavy trucks I hear?
I have no idea but some of my contractors have switched to ram. Interiors are way nicer but would be interesting to see how they hold up
How much tons
@@WayneReid-o2l payload is around 9,000-12,000 lbs depending on dump body size and weight.
black is cool
Thank you!
E-coat vs wax on the frames… that’s the biggest difference between Ford and GM in regards to rust.
What are you running for back up cameras?
Rear view safety commercial grade
I think
Nice. I’ll check it out
Don't know where u but tires but the prices u quoted are ludicrous u better shop around
I ended up getting some cheaper ones this year but I think they are worse
Ok good luck I had 4 550's before I retired they are a great truck and yes the turning radius is awesome
