These prices are just plain STUPID nowadays.
I’m definitely going to keep rebuilding my older trucks.
I’m really looking forward to Edison motors diesel electric hybrid systems for these trucks.
Can't find/buy a xl 250 6.7 (any cab) longbed for under like 40k its bullshit. I dont need a fucking computer. I dont need so much automated shit. I wonder why I enjoy my 96 250... Yeah having power lock rears would be nice along with the heavier built suspension for front and rear...
Same, I’ll stick with my 2000 f250 ps 7.3, 244,000 still going strong 💪
@@jayrobert5917 not an option for the northern half of the country where they use road salt .There are no 2000s left ,2010-12 are about the oldest trucks still on the road ,and they are circling the scrap yard
Edison motors is a scam. They're never going to release a production truck or product to market. It's all advertising for their youtube channel
@@f-j-Services And do you really need a $10,000 diesel motor ?, that where people go off the rail and get a one tonne, leather seats infotainment system 4 door diesel, and spend $100,000.+, do you know what a 150 regular cab 4wd costs ? less than 40 grand, Anyways I bought a new 2021 Ram 5500 cab chassis, Base truck was 44K, I got the base gas motor,4wd all the chrome trim ,aluminum wheels and the usual windows, locks A/C auto, cruise tilt etc, no carpet or leather seats, its was $54,000.Put my own 2 yard concrete mixer drum on the back myself, its those dealers, the only stock the crazy expensive trucks, I of course had to speacil order that truck,, after spending 2 hours while the salesperson checked the eastern seabord for something already built he could sell me ! Its like I know what I want, and you don't have it,but you can get it, but it was like pulling teeth. As for your old truck, if your happy with it god bless you, but only so much you can do to keep it going.
They should put a tilt nose on all super duty trucks. Maintenance would be so much easier.
They don’t want you in there
@@Tylers24 I think aftermarket truck up-fitters need to start building them.
@@mikedarrow3809That's a massive change.
@@ShaunHensley it would be worth it.
Yeah cool but who can afford 150k truck. Wish they would make a truck for those who really need it a working man hell we can't even afford an f150 unless you want to pay 60k for a bare bones truck smh. Good job america
Your right I need a affordable work truck that does the job at fair price don't need tons of frills
‘America/ Unions
@@gliderider7077yea remember when their was a middle class,we can't afford that.
Chassis cab with a 7 liter gas and a contractor enclosed metal box is $33k.
@adamforbes9259 you know they don't want that. They want top shelf champagne for bud ice price.
This is just over $71000 in USA dollars. At first I was shocked at the price, but I'm glad he mentioned they're in Canada.
thats still way more money then what most people have to be able to get a ranch or work truck though. 😂
@@thetreedraggonDoes this look like a ranch/work truck to you? This is meant to be a tow truck.
@@JamesThomas-kx5sj not really but thats apparently what there calling it now a days. in my opinion this truck in particular does look like it would be more of a tow truck like you were saying or some kind of a commercial hauler then a farm truck of any sort. 😂
$71000 for a cab? That's insane
@@freedomliberty7611 right? 😂
I need one with 4x4 and a flat bed with a hoist for my farm. But I wouldn't have a farm if I had that truck.😢
"A nice electronic parking brake" ... you mean the one you CAN'T use during an emergency when your main brakes fail because you can't modulate it and because the computer (smarter than you) won't let you activate it because you're in motion? Wonderful!
I get what your saying… but it is a parking brake not an emergency brake… just saying… but I really honestly do get what you’re saying
@@tjlovesrachel yes, you really don't get it; let my try to explain the problem a different way:
- when you depress the brake pedal, you're using the service brakes (the main brakes)
- if your service brakes fail you have (2) two options to still slow yourself down: 1. in a gasoline powered engine you can downshift and the engine's backpressure will slow you down, 2. but in a diesel you don't have engine backpressure; if you have a jake brake, that is an addon backpressure generator for your diesel engine.
- now, we've got one last option IF AND ONLY IF the parking brake is manually cable actuated; you can slowly increase the braking with these "legacy" parking brakes. But with an electronic parking brake, YOU ARE SH!T OUT OF LUCK.
@@melanehme3661 Calm down, it's not the 1960's....
When is the last time you, or anyone you know lost all the brakes on a light/med duty truck? Can it happen, maybe. Does it happen? No.
@@NomadGringo I've lost brakes in 3 different trucks. It takes 10 to 15 years of service but they will fail especially in the rust belt. I'm guessing at 100k these will be in service for a while.
Yeah because people are so proficient at maintaining their vehicles
Fleet owners will appreciate the easy and cheap to replace halogen bulbs.
Make sure to have that front bumper replaced along with the license place bracket before being sold.
Ya, I saw that too
@@bobuncle8704 yikes someone messed up
I'm not the only one that saw that!
probably backed into by a ranger at 2mph.
@@mikes-wv3em Hope its a harder impact than that... I smashed this relativly large buck one morning and I was doing about 60 even and barely moved my bumper in on my 96 250. I hit an entire group of those fuckers with my 08 6.4 when I had that, was screwing around and hit a guardrail at 30 cuz I entered about a foot of water doing 80 and that didnt put but a dent in the corner the size of a dollar bill and with a 99 f350 I smashed a couple deer and folded the front lip in a bit.
I just checked Ford's online build tool for this truck and it actually comes standard with the 7.3L 2V gas engine. The 6.7L PowerStroke is considered an option.
Defiantly buy the 7.3
pumped up back to the 70's no cupholders
Man i absolutely love my 600 it’s a 23. It weights 25k all the time as a welding rig. Very very tough truck!
Do you know the tow rating?
No not right off but iv been on the scale and and weighed 54,000 pounds and did fine I mean these trucks are damn good
What are you running for tires? I work out of a 2011 f550 with a Maintainer w/crane and I scale out right at 21K all the time. I love the truck but I’m on rock 80% of my miles, logging, have a hard time keeping tires together. Been running Hercules 245’s and had good luck with them until the last two sets. Seems like the quality has dropped off. Run 105 psi all the way around, rotate them every 5K oil change. Been looking at the Toyo 608’s, heard good things about them, but they are spendy. Be interested in what you’ve had good luck with. Thanks
Man the Falkon bi 850 has been the best so far, but to be honest I get between 20 and 30 miles out of a set. And weighing that much iv tore a few tires up trying not to get hung up and spin on a rock and it’ll tear a tread up
@@thedailylogger1045 toyo makes a good hd tire
The locking glove box feature is "HUGE"!!
Should be 50k max with every option
No, it shouldn't. In 2009, it was 50k for the f650. This is a good price. You get a lot of truck
for a heavy duty truck with options this price is very reasonable. this is cheaper than alot of 3/4 and 1 ton trucks being sold right now
A loaded F450 was ~65k in 2008, you're dreaming
The only place I have seen these trucks is in my line of work; Wildland firefighting. Pretty nice rigs definitely make for decent engine pumpers
That's awesome!
I've seen them delivering building materials up in the mountains. Developers weren't waiting for the roads to be finished.
Flip that front licence plate support around;
On F450 & up it clears a path for air to hit that lower radiator/cooler
Not a Ford guy here, but you did a fantastic job on this Ford F-600. 👍👍✌️
RAM NEEDS A VARIATION PLEASE!
I have a 2023 F600 4x4 diesel. 1700 miles so a good truck.
Nice walk around.
Thanks from your new sub in SoCali
God Bless
We appreciate the kind words! See you around!
Love mine i have a 2021 its already got 197,000 km on it best truck i have ever bought !
That's awesome! Glad you are making good use of it!
Good thing the glove compartment is lockable (because thats a huge thing). I wonder if the doors don’t lock.
I heard many people complain about the fact this model is not available in a super cab or crew cab configuration or higher trim levels. I think Ford needs to consider, that many customers could use the extra hauling capacity in towing applications.
My fire department has an F550 mini pumper/rescue truck that is just under the weight capacity. We could really use a crew cab F600 4x4 so we could put some more equipment on it.
Would definitely be a great fit!
I think these could really fill a gap in the market for service trucks and similar, most guys on traditional 19,5K platforms are running overweight. 2500lbs extra gvw and factory 4x4 in the same price range as 550 sold me. In my region it is still small enough to stay out of the commercial logbook requirements etc.
I've only seen 1 so far out in wild, it seems Ford has really undermarketed these trucks. The single cab only is probably also a deterrent for a lot of potential buyers.
You're definitely right! Great truck for a market that is ever growing. Hopefully more cab options will be available in the future although regular cabs are certainly more popular for chassis cabs. These are definitely quite rare though!
@@MacPhee_Ford That's where you talk about how it's actually too big for dual use (it is) and sell the customer on a Maverick *too*. Or at least you would if supply of those ever catches up with demand - realistically not until it has more competitors.
"Buy an F600, get a Maverick for free!" That sounds like the deal that was in the USA years ago with a free Focus.@nlpnt
Yes you hit the nail on the head. The 19500 gvw of the 550 doesn’t cut it. Company I work for just bought 5 with mechanic bodies with small crane. Mine is already overweight and I’m no where close to done loading the truck with what is needed in the field.
Ford should have offered the 600 in the extended cab already. The 5 trucks is 1 million dollars and they are inadequate. But that is what the company gets for not consulting with the user department before making a purchase.
@@BoostMatters I wonder if the single cab is because the frame length vs weight or take rate. I would have loved an extended cab.
Would be nice to have a clamshell type hood like what the Chevy/International CV has. would make maintenance much better. Once you get into commercial use, reducing downtime is of most importance.
Excelente camioneta saludos desde Córdoba Argentina
Love my 2021 dumptruck!
Awesome!
I have 5 of them! If you can, get one!!! They are so underrated!
that's huge, that's huge !!
Just remembered the "light duty F250"
I'm glad this did not come with 9bolts wheels😂😂😂
brand new and the bumper already has a massive dent
Would not want the electric parking break... Some things should be mechanical for safety and reliability... That's one of them with Ford's current track record of recalls; Specifically related to the electrical park break in the smaller F series trucks.
1. They ARE available with gas engines also.
2. You must request "carpet delete" for a vinyl floor.
They come standard with 7.3l gas. The 6.7l ps is optional
Do they put something between the rear rims? That inside rim being steel, and the outside being aluminum is going to set up some corrosion. If your going to put 4 aluminum rims on, why not 6?
It doesn't matter if you don't fluid film or completely paint those wheels with anti seize they are gonna be stuck on the hubs after a couple months in the winter salt anyway.
Cost
CHEAP
F 600😊 wow love it
We do too!
Now that's a MAN'S truck!!!
💪💪
Looks like to me the only reason this has an extra 2500lbs of payload is because of the wider tires. A 245 vs a 225 in 19.5's is a big difference.
It's becoming popular with DoT and dpws around us as it heavy Frame will work better plowing
Sounds like Ford must have had Chevrolet in mind when it began offering the F-600. As such, it slots in very well in between the F-550 and F-650. And here in South Carolina, I have seen a few being used for electric utility line service applications.
I'd love to see a regular cab truck with heated seats
Would definitely be cool!
Heck of a truck
Definitely!
Parking brake sounds like a Star Wars gun
After what the dealerships did during covid, we will never deal with one again!
Is there a big dent on the front bumper centre left?
most underrated comment
These trucks are not like a hino, little freightliner or international cv fleets are not interested in pulling the cab every time it needs repair.
Is that dent in the front bumper standard or is it an extra cost option?
I was gonna write this exact comment.
Ford… yeah will take a hundred bucks off the sale price.
Then you go back and want to buy a new bumper
Ford … that will be $1890 bucks for a new bumper.
Wish you had really gone into what makes it different from the 550. We’ve all seen hours of interior and backup camera’s showcased on other channels. Going into detail about frame section upgrades, leaf spring packs, axels etc.. would have been more informative for someone comparing 550 vs 600.
Is it available in other can sizes?
Is it possible for extended cab?
Theres one of these at my work and the frame is bent from the weight of the picker on the back lol... Base truck I don't even think it has 4x4 and that's a necessity for my boss lol
Be great if they would just put a Cummins in it with manual transmission option ,
Looks like this would make a great wrecker / tow truck. The 96K sticker is just stupid even if its in CAD. Why is this thing so filthy? If I was buying it for nearly 100K, that SOB better be clean a new.
You missed the damaged front bumper. How lame.
71000 usd for a heavy duty truck with options is very reasonable.
There's a really great opportunity to resurrect an old rig from a salvage yard. Low cost. Low taxes, low insurance, no frills, invest a few dollars, drive it for years. Just go find it.
Does it have a crew cab option?
dam i could only wish that i could ever even drive a truck like that. we cant even afford to buy a normal pickup truck now a days let alone that. but it was an awesome video anyways. 😂👍
It's pricey but its capabilities are endless!
@@MacPhee_Ford i guess so.
Local guy just bought a dump truck on this chassis. It was $100K alot of beans for that truck, seems like a good rig but should be a $70K truck all day long.
Back in the day you could get a cummins 5.9 12v/24v a cat c7 motor
Right hand drive and sell in Australia?
Bumper ding standard?
do they all come with a damaged front bumper ?
thanks for make this video, there is not lot of then explaining reasons why f600 are like that.
Glad you liked it!
These are the same as a 550, pull like a 650, ride like a spring ride 650/750. And they are now saying the frames are breaking like the dodge 4500/5500 trucks
Frame didn't look very srrong
bullshit they ride like the 650s. we have 2023 f650s leaf springs all around. and a 2024 f600 springs in the back full shocks and suspension up front. 600s feel like cadillacs compared to the 650😂
No manual transmission. Ashamed
🤣🤣🤣
Ford Drop it Manual Transmission in it Super Duty since 2009 Due to low sales .would be to much to repair and lot of this more made for lot of City, County and State Fleets
Girlie truck with no manual transmission option. Nothing to repair as the manual is simple and durable. The 10 speed auto will be the first major component to fail in this truck. Also they charge more for the auto so they make more.
@@VHP7044 well I have one which it a F550 it a 2022 I have no trouble with 10Speed Automatic before this had a Torque shift 6 speed Automatic and it work just as well want a Manual get a Semi Truck of a Kenworth W900. GM Drop it Manual Transmission back in 2007
why are some of you still upset about trucks not having manual transmissions anymore? when theres people like us who cant even come close to affording a truck anymore when we need one. i mean dam! no offence but its like some of you dont even see the price tags on these things now a days.
wiping out sh*t from *all surfaces* before showing off would be a nice touch
Those power numbers sounds like it could push a 40 foot city bus, since your typical bus engine puts out those numbers (300ish HP with torque range from 700 to 900 lb-ft)...
Does it come in a four door
The bumper is already dented?
regular cab only on these I believe.
that dent on the front bumper
Did i miss the tow rating? It was on the sticker he just didnt go far enough. Anyone know the rating? Thanks
Tow rating is around 35,000lbs as a max rating. Tough to put an exact number as these trucks get upfitted and thus reduces the rating but around 34-35,000 pounds
Still wish they had manual transmission options for them
Antiquated. Move on.
??
Them days are long gone. No one was buying.
Why is the front fender opening so HUGE?
Is the Dent on Chrome Bumper optional .. Or standard?🙈
can a person order it with the 7.3 gas motor? it would save a lot of expense which I never in a million yrs thought I would say that
He said diesel only
Looking to import. One of these F600 to australia
I need one with a gas motor and a 2 speed rear end like the old ones used to be.
We do tanker trucks on these. Awesome trucks.
That's awesome to hear! Glad they are working good for your fleet!
Can you get it in a crew cab
Well, I’ve been driving F-550 since 2012… broken, replaced in 2016… engine blew… 2019… infamous ticking and dealers can’t do a thing about it…
Oh, and I have been doing the 8000 km maintenance package, for extreme duty, full synthetic oil and air cleaner each time… they are thirsty, rated at 19 000 lbs rigs, I weight 17000 and Ford dealers are always telling me that it’s too heavy… but it’s under the rated weight… Yeah… but not "ALWAYS"… so it’s rated, but not… I am going with a Peterbilt for my next… should be able to get 8-12 years of service instead of 3,5-4…
Anyone else catch the old chime around 2.20?
This truck compeats with the ram 5500 and the Chevrolet 4500 550 6500 the chevey intuit is starting to look dated the ford is a new design love it
There are thousands of ford and dodge trucks here in Kansas city MO sitting on once were empty lots. They are new last years model I wonder what they are going to do with them all.
I guess not everbody still wants a 4 door 4wd one ton with leather seats and a $3500 blue tooth infotainment system for the sale price of $99,999. God forbid they stock even ONE regular cab 150 for $38,000,,,"for just a littttttllllle bit more you can the only truck type we stock
Was he mistaken on the HP and TQ numbers?? I have a 2019 crew cab and it has 450hp and 935TQ. He said 335 HP and 825TQ
On a heavy-duty commercial truck like an F-600 they are detuned and rated differently so they make less power than a standard F-250 or F-350. It's done on purpose to increase longevity
Pulling huge loads isn't just about horsepower, it's mostly what you're running for a trans, and the rear differential gear ratio plays a big factor. Just think... this F6 has more horsepower under the hood then most tractor-trailers did in the 60's and 70's. Could this F6 pull, 60,000lbs - 80,000lbs, reliably and safely, like those old trucks? Heck No.
Very true. I just thought maybe he misspoke. Makes more sense now. Thanks
The cab and chassis truck engines are derated
If it’ll put up with me it’ll make it through any one!
Is it going to be available in a crew cab?
not now
Really bummed they dropped the gas model, you could get the gas 2wd for 60k usd in 2023
How many times do you say "huge" in the video?
Why did they drop the 7.3L gas engine? Town I work for has a 22 F600 7.3L it’s a beast of a truck, over 12,000 lbs of payload in a 4x4 60” CA w SS dump body. The gas engine option and higher payload was one of the best attributes of this truck.
Can you get this in 4WD and with 4 doors?
Unfortunately F-600 is only available in the regular cab configuration. An F-550 can be optioned the way you mentioned though!
In old skool theory, the 600 should be a 2wd and the 650 would be a 4wd.
Why's that?
@@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism Thats how it was long ago, class 1,2,3... and the 50 was 4wd, Chevy used C and K
So if its got a 22,000 pound GVW how much does it weigh? without knowing that the 22,000 GVW information is useless. Rather not find out at the weight station,
I don't want an appliance i want a truck
This frame is best used on Class C motorhome builds…..a level just below the Freightliner frames they use on Super C’s
That's a good point!
The bad thing about ford is you have to take the body off just to work on them .
Ohap baby
What we do know....the cab will be off of it in the first or second year.
I worked on a 550 all day today.. what a plastic piece of crap Ford built! Plastic engines plastic trans pan with aluminum foil heat shields.. total waste of money! Better off buying a freightliner M2.. 😊
Still needs a bunch of money to get it in money making shape. Too bad they de-tuned it too. I'd say, like it sites maybe low 60's would be closer to the price. They almost have to come with a serious warranty though, with all the issues their having these days and how expensive parts are.
Get a used Kodiak 7500 they way nicer comfy make you money if duramax
Missed opportunity for "The truck no one can afford."
Ridiculous prices that hardly anyone could afford. No thank you.
I will just keep my trusty 2002 Ford F350XLT Crew Cab 7.3L Power Stroke that only has 37,472 miles on it. 22 years old and still runs like new. Only cost me $36,000.00 when new. That is still my limit today, so no new trucks for me anymore at these high prices. The manufacturers are out of their minds. No car or truck should surpass $50,000.00. for the average consumer.
