Testing the Shakespeare Micro Series spinning rod and reel combo.
Actually taking it out fishing and seeing what it can do.
Is it good enough to pass my test?
Oh man, at the beginning I thought we were gonna have to rename you "Snag-Nasty." lol. Great video. Love the ending with the sound effect.
Thanks Andy!
I thought about renaming my channel snag fishing adventures. 🤣
That was an action packed entertaining fishing excursion video. Great editing too with all those catches. I thought I was the only one to lose jigs and get snags. Great outing Stacee!💥🏆🪝
Thanks Ron 👊
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was hoping to test it a week.
On to the next rod. 🤣
@@BankFishingAdventures My Ugly Stik Ultra Light holds up on Panfish with 6lb test. Terrible in snags. Lost three jigs on my outing the other day💥🤩
@@FitnessOutdoors That's what I normally use is a 4 foot 6 Ugly Stik UL. I got 4 pound line on it right now.
Wonderful footage! Beautiful place to fish!
Thanks you very much!
😆 that was a beautiful set up at the dam! That rod didn’t want no part of it though 😅. That seemed like you had something big on there! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Mat!
I was wanting to get on a bigger fish to test the rod and reel out. I just happen to hook into a rambunctious smallie. They fight like crazy in that current.
Good angling, sir! Great vid.
Thank You!
Oh man great review ! I've been on the hunt for a good micro lite setup. Nice catches. Very unfortunate the rod snapped like that.
Thanks Brother 👍
Ugly Sticks are much more forgiving. 🤣
Looks like a solid Micro series combination by Shakespeare! Well until you get a big fish on it... epic fail lol! Great video as always! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jim!
either that line is strong or you tie a good knot. thanks for the video man 👍
Thanks bud!
It was strong for a rod and reel meant for panfish.
That was a nice rod and reel combo!! I wish they made some that didn't get hung up on the bottom!!!🤣🤣
Thanks Brother!
I know Right 🤣
Very Nice review....tough line
Thanks Bob!
I have 3 of those exact same combos. Absolutely love them. I keep a 4’6 one in my truck just in case I need to pull off and make a cast😂 Spool it up with some 2lb Berkley vanish and it will cast a mile. Dick’s Sports has the line for about $8. Great test video. They make that same rod in a 7ft at Walmart. Can’t beat it for ultralight fishing. At least…. Unless you break it in hall like that😂😂😂😂
Thanks Brother!
I was really liking that rod was planning on using it for a week to test it. I just wanted a glimpse of that smallie before he took the other half of my rod. 🤣
HI. found you through the comments from Fitness Outdoors channel. wanted to stop by to check out the channel and show some support. subbed. the fight on these micro rod & reel combos must feel great!
Thanks for the support!
I sure like the fight all the way to the bank it just makes fishing a little more fun.
Man that’s a bummer I love that little rod I’ve had mine a couple years now and caught everything from creek chubs and shiners to a 4 pound channel cat but I do only use 2 pound line still it shouldn’t snap from just fighting a fish.
Maybe try the warranty?
I was wondering if I just got a bad one.
The line was way to strong for that rod.
That smallie started peeling drag and it was over. I'm going to try an Ozark Trail rod with that reel next.
I thought you had that rod Dannie.
I do like the sensitivity on it for sure.
Thanks for commenting !
good rod ,shakespeare makes good rods
I've heard many great things. Thanks for the comments.
Ever heard of a drag? Or “high sticking”?
Yessir! The drag was peeling.
I did high stick it oops.
@@BankFishingAdventures It’s probably the most sensitive ultralight rod under $80 on the market. Great little rod, and well made. Just gotta fish it like an ultralight. I’ve landed 3 pound bass with it. I don’t have the reel. Bought the rod and put a Pflueger President 2000 on it with 6 pound J-Braid.
@@bfg1836 Thanks for the comment!
I might try it again with some 2lb line and a better reel.
@@BankFishingAdventures try it with Trout Magnets. It was made for micro jigs.
They will all break, better $20.00 than $200.00?.'nuf said!
Grab the line not the rod to break off mono.
Great tip 👍
Micro Rod & Reel, Micro fish...lol
Ok Alvin 🤣
I've got the 7 ft. Version of that rod I put a shimano sienna on it love it its really sensitive
I'm guessing I got a bad one. Sure liked how sensitive it was. I seen an Ozark trail rod that looked interesting but didn't seem as sensitive.
