I don’t like to say that his potential was wasted, because I feel like that’s overly pessimistic and not entirely true, yet at the same time it’s not entirely false either? I am endlessly curious about his animus story. You’re telling me the NIGHTWINGS had an Animus, and all that we know of what he’s done are the tunnels? What else did battlewinner have him do? Why was he SO afraid when DS started to heal him? I used to have a theory that the othermind had a hold of him, but when that was never confirmed I kinda forgot about it. Thinking about how random and inconsequential his involvement was in talons of power, and the weird way tui hops between storylines in book 10 and later makes me greatfull he wasn’t shoved into a story that wasn’t his. But I still want to know his story. Unfortunately, I can’t quite think of how Tui could give him an appropriately grand one for his powers that makes sense but doesn’t open plot holes.

I hoped that Tui might write a winglet about him and Thorn, but I don’t know if she scrapped that Idea or not :’( I was a little disappointed when he just became the hermit that lives in Jade mountain, I was kind of hoping that he might learn to trust himself and regain a connection with Thorn and Sunny, but I suppose that would distract on the storyline. And I alway did wonder what else he did besides the tunnels, if it was bad enough to make him seal himself away in a cave and run away from Thorn it had to have been significant
