Hello i am a French shooter. I have a 686 + S&w revolver. Very good one. But Manurhin is the best revolver i have ever seen. In 25 meters 5 bullets in ten and one in 9. And i am not a very good shooter. Vive la France and God bless America
Got mine since 1983. The bluing is still mirror like. I ve never changed any piece of it, and i m still doing shots like day 1 with it. It's a pricey gun, but it's clearly a gun that you'll own your whole life. My child will own it too when the times comes. Just the best i've used.
Oh well Beretta, here we go again you guys have already made me fall in love with those revolvers, I am obsessed with buying one I’m thinking the 4 inch barrel, they are too gorgeous to pass up, my girlfriend will just have to wait for that diamond ring
now that is a cheap ring, the $3600 usd that set you back for this gun is too much for a standard handgun and not even that pleasing to eye. I don't question the reliability, bluing look good too.
And parts are expensive. And in the end, it still shoots the same .357 round that a K,L N or GP100 does. You can buy a Chevy or a Cadillac, but both will get you there just as fast.
I could buy a $3000 6 shooter......or I could get and AR, AK, or 10mm carbine instead. Don't know if you been paying attention to current events but Im not so sure 6 rounds are going to cut it for what's coming in the not so distant future....
The MR-73 is a splendid revolver. The "sport" model is as accurate as a .22lr issf match pistol, which is not a small performance. It's nice to know that dedicated US shooters can get it.
So I was able to get my hands on one of these bad boys last January. First off, I will say it’s the nicest handgun I’ve ever had my hands on or seen in my life. The quality & components of this revolver blows away anything American made in my opinion. Yes it has a high price tag and most people will never be able to purchase one of these! With the way prices are going up for things and the state of our economy in America(thanks to the worst president we have ever had in Biden), most people will not be able to obtain this gun! I was very fortunate enough to sell some things to be able to purchase one of these early on, and I got the 4 inch version! I believe it to be more versatile and the sights are a little different/ better for carry and defense! I can totally carry it in a good holster if need be!!! It is very beautiful and a well crafted piece of artwork, Hands-down, I would use this handgun over any other handgun in the world for a self-defense situation or just shooting for fun. It is awesome that Beretta was able to start importing these, but they are extremely hard to get, as they only make so many per year, speaking of manhurin of course. No offense to any other guns, revolvers or rifles that are American made, and no offense to anybody who’s reading this, but I will say I have a lot of firearms that are made in other countries, compared to what I have that are made in the United States. The ones made in other countries are better built, better quality, better components, smoother and more accurate, and most of them are aesthetically more beautiful! There’s just something about the way they do things in these other countries!!! They just seem to put better quality into things. That’s just from my experience and what I have seen and experienced in my lifetime. If you ever have a chance to get any one of these manurhin models, I would highly advise it. You will not regret it whether you keep it and never shoot it for collecting or you shoot the hell out of it.
That's such bull. It's a revolver and can do basically anything any other revolver can do. CommieFornia is run by a bunch of tyrannical anti gun idiots.
Manurhin means Manufacture du Rhin in french, the name of the company comes simply from the location / region. The standard 4 in barrel was used massively by the GIGN special police forces. It is a classical and very well made revolver like the Colt Python. There is also a french police movie dedicated to this legendary firearm with Daniel Auteuil a well knowned french actor… name of the movie is obvious : MR73 😉
Your MR73 is a true work of art. I have the pleasure of owning a 4” and find that you are being overly modest. I have found that it is the finest working hand gun made. My brother owns a Colt Python and I have fired it and it pales to the quality and accuracy of the MR73 and it is a truly fine weapon. A little note for Beretta; I would really like to see the Tom Cat in a 32 cal. I have a need for deep concealment at times and I think that would fulfill that better than the KelTec P32. Just a thought.
Great job getting Manurhin under your fold, Beretta! Two great brands coming together! Hope to visit your Dallas gallery next week, and check them out. It is sad, though, that your acquisition of Holland and Holland likely means that your magnificent 455 is dead. It was the finest traditional double rifle design.

I have a police trade in/surplus 3" I got a few years back. I over paid a little to much but VERY glad I did. It of course doesn't have the beautiful blued finish, it has a very worn parkerized finish that looks so tough! It is also a absolute tank. It will handle whatever loads you want. I have rugers, s&ws, rossi, colts and I've owned freedom, charter arms taurus and it's stronger than any of them, has a better trigger and is more accurate than all of them. and the 3" is great carry. I don't like the grip profile for carry but it's amazing for shooting and REALLY tames the recoil. I use the same holster as my sw model 66 3". I highly recommend these and consider them the finest 357 mags ever made.
That bluing looks magnificent, and I'm thrilled that there's a new development on the revolver scene stateside. The S&W Model 10 and 19 are probably my favorite revolvers, but I refuse to buy any new production ones because of that horrendous internal lock in them. Looks like I'll be saving up for the 4" Gendarmerie MR73 model!
I was lucky to enough to acquire a like new 1970 S&W model 19. Nowhere the quality or prestige of the Manurhin but better than the modem revolvers put out by Smith & Wesson, Colt or Ruger. I wonder how this gun compares in quality to a Korth.
@@pray4mojo35 I recently came across a used Model 19-6 from '92 and was fairly impressed at how well it was finished and how effective whatever trigger work had been done to it to make the double action buttery smooth. If Modern S&W's didn't have the lock (and the recontoured frames that come with them) I could look past the two-piece barrels, less impressive finishes, and MIM parts.
Dang I’ll only get that in my dreams. Lol 3000?? Shoot I just graduated and paying school loans 😂😂😂 maybe one day my French love. One day I’ll have you
Keep your eyes open for used and the occasional police trade ins. I got a 3" pd trade in few years ago. Fixed sights and tough looking worn parkerized coating instead of the beautiful bluing. I paid a little over 700 for mine. I'm very happy I did. It's solid enough to take any load you want to use and handle the recoil great with the grips. Adjustable trigger that's one of the best I've ever felt and it's insanely accurate!
I've seen a few videos on these revolvers over the last few days. I really want one but then reality sets it, lol. Time to start saving and hoping that they come down a little bit in price eventually.
I don t know if it s possible with the laws to do it, but here in france, the MR73 is like 1000 dollars, for a sport model. And when you an already used one, you can get it for like 600 - 700. The Gendarmerie model is avaliable at like 400.
@@Goudrouille I just checked local pricing for a new Manurhin revolver and they are anywhere from $3,000 to $3600 US. There may be some better prices but that was a quick local check. Apparently they are being produced in a limited number and that is helping to keep the price at a certain level. There are some used Manurhin guns for sale much cheaper, but you still are looking around $1,000 US, depending on condition, etc.. It makes sense that they are cheaper in France since they are a French firearm, although I think in the US we get Sako rifles usually cheaper than what they cost in Finland. That's what I was told when I bought a new Sako rifle a few years ago. The Manurhin revolvers are definitely on my watch list, lol. Stay safe.
Yes they are very expensive, but there are a bunch of reasons for that. You often hear "they don't make them like they use to". Well now you know: people bitching about how much it costs. This one is built like they use to, and all that work, and there is a lot of work, has a cost! To put things into perspective, one of these cost 400 dollars more than a Colt Python in France. -First of, quality and quantity. Other manufacturers could make high end revolvers. But they aim for mass sales, so they make compromises. Manurhin never aimed for sales in the first place, they were asked to make these revolvers by the government. So they made them without compromise and low volumes. -Craftmanship has a price. These revolvers are not made in a country where man hours cost a fraction of your salary. It always make me laugh when people buy chinese, brazilian or turkish for the cost and then complain about unemployment. They are hand fitted, the deep bluing isn't made by a machine, they are highly polished before bluing. The yellow trigger and hammer are heat treated to get that colour, like they use to 150 years ago. -Import, taxes and Beretta all take their cut. -Etc... Side note: they do refresh old firearms to that levels of finish if you send them your gun.
Erik , maybe you were not aware , but the French design centres around the the short hammer fall that enables quick double action firing . This has two characteristics : the gun doesn't need to be cocked and therefore premeditated use could be denied in Court ; the 42 degree action and pin-to-hammer construction makes this the quickest DA action revolver . It's robustness has now become it's selling point , but that wasn't it's design criteria though . I have the 6" . It isn't machined to the standard of Korth and Janz , but neither does it cost that much either . Good to see Beretta upping the profile of these revolvers . The .32 and .38 Special are equally well made. Have a nice day Erik :-)
Yes indeed, but why is the angle of the hammer so severe that it actually restricts single action operation. I did send my query to the factory when I purchased my 5.25” Sport MR73, however I never got a reply. I would really like to understand what appears as an anomaly, as in every other regard the design (based on S&W model 19?) is simply the best. I sold my Colt Python 6” to part fund the purchase of my MR 73. By the way from my research here living en France, a newly graduated GIGN trooper is I believe still awarded a MR 73. I gave up trying to find an “ex GIGN “ gun, you never see them “occasion”, and I also believe they are still carried along with their Glocks, Sigs, and S&W model 686s!
Love it! They look beautiful! Ive been looking for one of these for a long time and glad to see they are back in production again. I would love to see an all stainless model also.
I am wondering what particular features make this revolver much more durable than, for instance, a Smith & Wesson Model 27 or Model 586, both reportedly developed for constant use of full load .357 Magnum ammo. Personally, I have always found S&W’s weakest point in revolvers to be the window under the cylinder from which the cylinder stop protrudes to grab the notch in the cylinder. There is very little “meat” supporting the cylinder stop in this area. Does Manurhin have a substantially better system of cylinder lockup?
Next thing Chapui needs to do is make a MR73 in .44 Magnum, and of course the legendary sniper variant, just make this beautiful revolver a family of good products for several purposes.
Shoot full-power .357 ammo day in and day out. This $3,000 dollar pistol will do it and so will my $300 like new but used Ruger GP 100. That $2700 I saved will be handy for other projects.
You shoot 150 rounds of full power duty 357 Magnum loads every single day? Because that is what the GIGN meant by "constant 357 magnum use". They were heavily invested in marksmanship due to their hostage rescue role and the fear of hostages being caught in the crossfire if anything like a prolonged gunfight were to develop and they used the same exact load as both their duty and range ammo for maximum realism.
Just a suggestion, maybe consider making a 3rd model for the carry folk out there with a more basic grip, low snag sights and a less snagable hammer, rather than going aftermarket for those parts. That revolver is a thing of beauty that my heart weeps that I will likely never hold one, let alone shoot one
I hope these will be available for a while. $3000 + isn’t something I can come up with easily. I have longed for one of these beauties for a while. Even asking at gun shops no one had even heard of them till now. And the Korth is not available in US these days ads far as I know, other than through Nighthawk- and the genuine version is somewhere close to 10k. But the MR73 has a better pedigree as far as I’m aware.
It’s kind of weird that one of THE best revolvers in the world comes from France. Admittedly I’m biased towards Colt and Smith & Wesson revolvers, but the MR73 truly is one of the finest revolvers ever crafted. It’s such a classy handgun.
The French actually have a good track record for making quality revolvers with excellent fit and finish. During the late 19th to early 20th century, Colt and S&W made both their famous large caliber revolvers for frontier and military use alongside smaller caliber revolvers for police and personal defense; though the small caliber ones actually sold better by sheer numbers. The French tended to only produce the smaller caliber wheel guns, until GIGN had the MR73 made for their use.
@@ostiariusalpha What do you mean by quirky ? French companies made a lot of good revolvers for a long time : - Lefaucheux ; - Chamelot-Delvigne 1873 and 1874 in 11mm 73 ; - Saint Etienne 1892 in 8mm ; - Manurhin MR-73... And also automatic pistols : - SACM 35 A in French 7,65mm long (the ancestor of the SIG P210) ; - MAB P-15... And I am just talking about sidearms.

@@jbloun911 what’s wrong with the frame mounted firing pin?
@@borkwoof696 .. did I mention the Hillary Hole?
It's all about priorities. Do you really need a house?
@@nssilver1 more like do I need a wife
@@chrisr8916 nah, hookers are probably cheaper anyway.
The gign spec manurhin is an amazing little sniper
good thing your guns work better than your clocks do!! LOL ;-)
What do you mean please? My English is lacking in vocabulary
Gorgeous revolvers
Erik, you are the man.
@@Goudrouille
I just checked local pricing for a new Manurhin revolver and they are anywhere from $3,000 to $3600 US. Stay safe.
That's one pretty gun !
One of my dream guns.
Really want one of these. I would put walnut grips on it though.
The MR73 might be well the best revolver every made but 3K is way more than almost anyone can afford.Still its great to see these stateside.
Mouth watering revolvers 👍
Strong buy! Love the both brands
I love so much revolvers but with wooden grip
Wow very good!
Need some opinions here, which would you go with as a nightstand/range gun - 5.25in or 4in?
The Bentley of Revolvers...absolutely beautiful pistols!
So beautiful. Full of beauty*
Now add the scope and bipod to see sales skyrocket.
Thé way it was made , thé steak alloy and bla bla bla
Please bring in a lot of em!
Notice that there was no mention of a price range for it. LOL Probably a scary thing.
$3300
@@samuelprice2461 You have committed to your namesake.
If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it.
I want this so very bad but i have not seen 38spc in about a year so i will wait.
The smile @ 3:02 says it all.
Too rich for my blood but a guy can dream.😂😁🇫🇷
Going to look for a Groupon so I can buy it. Love it.
EPIC!!!!
The French know their firearms. Ils sont des gens mecaniques.
$3300 is a steal for this gun. I live close to a Beretta Gallery, and I'm getting one in each size.
NICE. Please make some of these with a larger frame and larger bore like 44 and/or 45.
Next thing Chapui needs to do is make a MR73 in .44 Magnum, and of course the legendary sniper variant, just make this beautiful revolver a family of good products for several purposes.
In the video that gun jesus did at the factory making them the spokesman said they have plans to sell the 10inch variant, no dates disclosed
I love beretta and I love revolvers
The world's best revolver in accuracy and normal use. . 357 isn't a slouch either .
Just GORGEOUS
Shoot full-power .357 ammo day in and day out. This $3,000 dollar pistol will do it and so will my $300 like new but used Ruger GP 100. That $2700 I saved will be handy for other projects.
But you can't shave in a Ruger reflection.......lol
So, how are you intending to ruin it? Change how they're manufactured? Lower quality control to reach more costumers? Cheaper materials?
Usually the French have a tradition of making outstanding gun and have been at the forefront of gun development.
@@leonidasthermopylae3378 Often so much in the forefront that no one else wants to copy them; they tend to produce quite a few "quirky" guns.
@@ostiariusalpha indeed they do. Like the Chauchat machine gun.
@@ostiariusalpha What do you mean by quirky ? French companies made a lot of good revolvers for a long time :
- Lefaucheux ;
- Chamelot-Delvigne 1873 and 1874 in 11mm 73 ;
- Saint Etienne 1892 in 8mm ;
- Manurhin MR-73...
And also automatic pistols :
- SACM 35 A in French 7,65mm long (the ancestor of the SIG P210) ;
- MAB P-15...
And I am just talking about sidearms.
Oh I gotta get me one of them!!!🇺🇸👍🤠
I want one, it's like the Smith & Wesson Model 586 went to the best university in France.
God wish I could afford one. I'll never have that amount of money. I do own a Smith & Wesson model 19-4 target model partridge front sight.
