That 90W fast charging is the reason I will buy the Xiaomi 14 instead of the Samsung Galaxy S24 slow 25W charging speed that has not had a change since my Samsung Galaxy S20...
I use 15W charging on my S24 because I don't want to buy another charger. I'll wait until this one breaks.
I´ve been waiting to buy the regular Samsung s-series flagship, but they just keep releasing disappointing devices each year. In some sense s24 is actually a step-back from s23 due to the problematic exynos chipset.
@@intsfanatic Exynos S24 still has better battery life than Xiaomi with bigger battery. This is my first ever flagship and the feeling of holding it is really amazing, and its speakers and display. I got it for 25% off without trade in or carrier lock.

Specs wise the Xiaomi 14 is definitely better than the S24 - slightly larger display with higher resolution, three 50MP rear cameras, larger battery capacity, and faster charging speed wired and wireless. However I also believe that OneUI's fluidity and user experience is better than HyperOS, so to each their own.
I prefer the Xiaomi 14
True. Xiaomi phones have greater specs, but the software experience is meh. I'm glad they switched to HyperOS instead of the bloatware MIUI operating system.

s24 series is just so damn expensive. xiaomi 14 series on the contrary starts at 550-600 usd for the chinese variant
I bought the Xiaomi 13. The hardware is great, but I cannot stand how Xiaomi put a lot of bloatware on their phone, and they don't give any easy options to uninstall, or even disable the stuff you don't want.
Many of us use phones at night, just before going to sleep. Have you guys thought it would be useful to know how DIM the screen can get? I'd love to see that in your tests.
According to GSMArena's test its goes down to 2.3 nits and Notebookcheck got 2.5 nits.
While not the dimmest, if you use darker theme OLED makes it it dim.
Also xiaomi have paper mode, quite useful for reading at night
There's an extra dim option in the OS, it's just hidden (for some reason)
@@stefanmrsic You can edit the quick toggles, there should be an extra dim option to add to the drop down menu. It's there for Samsung and Pixel, so Xiaomi should have it too.
I agree dude, even when I'm not sleeping i always keep dark mode and eyeprotect / reading yellow light mode on the lowest brightness so I dont nuke my melanin levels, I find myself a lot less stressed because of this. We all need our phones for work so simply not using them is never an option
The Xiaomi 14 is a refresh of the Xiaomi 13 from last year. It has great battery life, fast charging, good versatile cam set-up. The HyperOS behaved differently in this device, it's power efficient.
But the it is abit pricey at launch. I hope Xiaomi drop the price in the upcoming month or two.

Between 2019 and when X 14 was announced there was no compact phone that could replace my P30 feature-wise. So I was very pleasantly surprised by the X 14, technically the first potential upgrade in 5 years, but I got really thrilled when I saw it'll be just €520 in China. To me, that meant ~€700 in EU.
Sure, Xiaomi doesn't have quite the same promptness as Samsung in providing security updates but no-Exynos and yes-aptX meant a lot to me.
Aaaaaand it's €1000. I'm out. The S24 is now €7xx and it comes with 7 years of security updates. Really, the X 14 should've been max. €650-€700. €1000 is just insulting.
Yeah. If that's the price then it's a no brainer to choose Samsung. Even if the price is the same, Samsung is much more worth it. I've used the S23 and Xiaomi 13. Design is better on 13 but the software is inconsistent, bugs every update.
You could try the pixel 8. I'm thinking of switching to it from a regular S23.
I bought my X14 (chinese model) from TradingShenzhen for €620 and been using it since the start of December. Band-wise, it has worked just fine in Portugal and Brazil. Been pretty happy with the phone.
I'm in the same boat upgrading from the 2019 Mi 9T. In the UK the Xiaomi 14 is £850 but if you buy it from the Xiaomi store it comes with a free tablet AND a smart band! If you sell those the phone is practically half price!

Do you think that the thermal throttling issue could be mitigated with a software fix?
I personally think 8gen3 is a hotter chip compared to 8gen2

@prithvim7 oh it definitely is, also the small body of the phone doesn't help with heat dissipation.
It would be better if I do it with performance mode
And heating doesn't reduce performance here

Xiaomi nailed everything besides the camera island design. Besides that, it is a spectacular phone.
For me it is actually looking simple and classy. There are no phones with camera Island like it.
I'm using a vivo X100pro as my secondary phone. I switched from Galaxy S23 Ultra to Iphone 15+ and bought Vivo X100pro as a secondary device. Very impressive device. Cameras in Vivo is superior to every other Galaxies and iphone in the market currently. I'm sure this xiaomi is also a better device than Samsung Galaxy ones.

Xiaomi 14's 90W charger out of the box should be the most considerable factor over Samsung S24, I cannot emphasize how significant this is, Xiaomi 14 over Samsung S24 anyday 👌🏻

You guys should change the object while testing the daily light photo, because this you are using from long time. Because other tech channel showing better camera details than this channel, but I believe you guys should have done better than others.
2:13 someone help me with the title of song used on speaker test
Been using the phone for about 3 months now, speakers are second to none but the water proofing isn't as good as Samsung's as it takes a few hours to dry the speakers compared to Samsung and also the volume and power button are pretty cheap feeling. For my after 3 months of usage my battery health has dropped to 94% after all the fast charging.
Edit: I'm just saying the cons as I own the phone regardless it's still a great phone. Also I'm from China that's why I own the phone
well, you should only use fast charging in case you're in a rush, my iphone 13 has 89% after 2.5 years. I use only 15 watt charging though
@@alexandruciordas4941 nah there's an option for boost charging and with it off it still charges super quickly like 35 min full charge compared to fast charging 25 min full charge

Hyper OS seems still a bit slow=buggy, at least on Poco F5.
And download size was supposed to be 5GB, but I believe size was below 1GB... maybe unpacking to 5GB.
Not just on Poco. Even on Mi Pad 6 slow and buggy. Miui it's better. Just my experience.

The main thing between xiaomi and samsung is "natural colors" in photos
This phone is FAR SUPERIOR to the S24 Base Model. This phone offers up to 16 GB of Ram, Samsung keeps us at 8GB. You can charge this phone far quicker. The base storage is 256 compared to the 128 of the S24. You get a higher resolution display and arguably better cameras. It's also the PERFECT size.
Compact phones are starting to get bigger in size again.

Yes, at least in the case of their zoom lenses. Samsung galaxy s23 & s24 have 12 mp sensor but the image output is 10 mp. Thus hurting image details and sharpness. Whereas Xiaomi 13 pro & 14's 3.2× zoom has versatile AF and optical stabilization.

@@prithvim7 I'd say the best camera module design right now would be the redmagic 9 pro. Camera wise it's bad, but the fact that the phone is flat and not protruding makes it the best for me.

Xiaomi can never match the OneUI and the regular software updates of Samsung.
Wow, this phone's specs seem to beat Samsung S24 on having the SD8G3 instead of Exynos, have up to 1TB & 16GB RAM option, have a better/more optimal screen size (6.36" vs 6.2"), and have much faster charging speed. It seems they just need to work on their thermal management.
I'm also hesitant that Xiaomi phones would probably have a CCP backdoor, reporting on everything I do, whereas Samsung phones probably have a USA backdoor and I'd slightly prefer the USA have all of my personal data than China.
Hopefully Samsung can catch up with their S25 series, putting flagship specs the whole way down the size range.

Does anyone have problems with camera fogging (going from warm to cold or vice versa) ? I'm also interested in the battery life (if someone uses 2 SIM cards, a little playing games, a little photography, using it for surfing the Internet and social networks / applications, while the mobile Internet is turned on non-stop) ?

I am currently always use Samsung, Samsung S2,S6,,S8,S9,S10, S20, S21 and now S22... I skip S23 and still thinking about S24, I love compact size and I hate so much heavy, bulky and big size phone, but finding the best compact phone with hi performance is not easy... I think, Xioami 14 is really tempting .. since S23 and S24 disappoint me so much with slow charging charge and they ruin the latest Oneui update
