Rising global temperatures threaten to destabilise our planet irreversibly. Faced with this existential threat, how far should we be willing to go in our attempts to achieve action on climate change?

Fighting and protesting against people doing their planet-destroying jobs simply will not stop them, they will fight back to the bitter end to keep their jobs.....they have to be provided with an alternative way of earning their living....We must make it financially worthwhile to share the jobs we NEED people to do and work LESS.

They broke the law and exercised their right to protest over apartheid in SA free Nelson Mandala, Vietnam War in 60's and 70's. Some moms bought their knitting in case they were arrested and locked up.

If the Science is all settled why is the IPCC continuing on with CIMP6? Why did they not stop at CIMP5? What indeed is the difference between these models and what is it that has been added to the model that thousands of scientists all around the World are testing in order to find out what is influencing our climate. Would you break the law on something which ended up to not be true? Of course the logical thing to do is to wait and see what effect particle forcing has. But then when did logic last enter into some peoples minds.
I wonder if Boris, Trump, Putin, Netanyahu are really listening to this. I wonder if those who sit their asses on big oil dollars really care.

When civilization collapse happens those that are left must deal with around 450 nuclear power plants which if not maintained will emit huge quantities ionized radiation, it’s not going to be easy to deal with those power plants with social collapse.
most will shut down dont worry too much about them, worry about the nukes in missiles. people dont understand how a powerplant works. if no fission happens most of the halogens will decay within 2 years that are the most radioactive. funny you didn't talk about oil rigs, pipelines leaking gas explosions. if you want I can give you sources

This speech is half great. Tell the truth? Yes...and tell all the truth. What about the Aerosol Masking Effect? ( If we reduce the particulates emitted by industrial activity - 'dirty coal' in particular we get a very rapid 1 degree C rise in temperature (maybe 6 weeks) and plant life will not cope with that.The 90% decline in insect population? The loss of earthworms. Current crop failures? The crop loss in USA summer 2019 due to floods?. The crop loss in Australia as many acres of arable land burn? As I write plagues of locusts are continuing to destroy crops in many countries: Pakistan has already lost 50% of its crops? We dont have until 2050, or 2040, 0r 2030 It is upon us now. the facts are available. We need to be prepare for the extremely demanding times this year as the Northern hemisphere may well face the level of heat the Southern hemisphere is experiencing. If we have an El Nino we are in immediate trouble. I wish us all well, and I wish these facts were not true

@J P Hi JP. If you research what is happening to crops in Pakistan and a number of other nations you will see for yourself the scale of losses. It will take you less than 5 minutes overall. Google: locusts pakistan national emergency. A further 5 mins on insect losses worldwide would show you the enormous loss of insects. If you have been driving over 30 years you will notice how few insects are killed by the windscreen (anecdotal and widely reported) Any farmer can tell you how vital the insect life is for food production. For fun you might check the crop losses in USA and Australia 2019. Australia became a net importer of wheat instead of exporter. I wish you were right. Oh, and a quick scan of coral reef decline (the rainforests of the sea) and the catastrophic loss of marine life might add to the overall picture of what has happened to our life support system, which has to provide for over 250,000 new folk every day

I'm currently studying environmental science, being funnelled into a job in the global machinery of economy. All those Oxford bods likewise will hope to carry forward lofty idealism, yet will in reality become clever cogs making the machine grow....Humanity is not capable of precaution or self regulation, for we are all immersed within the context of a system we inherited and cannot even imagine changing.....The next contraction of population is an entirely predictable and natural expression of self regulating systems as described by Lovelock's 'Daisy World'. And I'm afraid Bradbrook is wrong, love is as strong as hope, unicorns and fairies. What will be will be.

The same way a fat Doctor can tell you to stop eating. She is qualified and has scientific backing.
