- One of the rarest versions of the Boeing 747 was the 747-300 and JustPlanes has had 2 opportunities to film this aircraft, with Mahan Air and here with PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL. With PIA we flew roundtrip between Karachi and Lahore. This video shows scenes from the 1st leg of this trip. In addition the nearly 5 hour PIA Flight Deck film features the 777-200LR and 777-300ER between Karachi and Islamabad, the A310 on the same route, the 737-300 to the dangerous airport of Skardu and the ATR-42 to the dangerous airport of Gilgit. All in all a must see cockpit film!

JP thanks for unloading PIA 747 rare and fabulous video...
I dont like the pia font altho I love there Urdu monogram the old and classic one..but in English it looks boring. I believe that Urdu old classical logo was the best and then the flag ...they dont need to write pia because the green flag is enough to describe everything ..
the date of that flight is missing and its causing confusion. as far as i know,, no 747s are part of PIA fleet now. i really appreciate for the video and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Not so attrictive as other international air line smart captions operate their flights with smile and experties.boring.
while flying have you gentlemen ever encountered a unidentified flying object
pakistani pilots and air india pilots are very famous till now for their piloting skills and smooth landing. proud of my brother pakistan. love from India
Dont ha to be proud..but pilots have so conjusted uncomfortable cockpit they have...
Love from Pakistan

This is emotional comment... what about the American & European pilot’s who built those aircraft’s? Do u still think u r Better than them ??!!!!!!!!!
Yer except he was miles to the right of the centreline and halfway down the touchdown zone 👍
@@magic62magic57 Yes they are better than the Europeans, about Americans I can't say.
I was Chief Pilot 747 when we had the -200s. I retired before the -300s came in. Glad to see that they were still using MY call out system (approved by Boeing) --I modified the Standard Boeing procedures to give more items to the F/E to allow the F/O (Deputy Commander) to concentrate on overall flight monitoring and be ready to take over in case of incapacitation of the captain. On all sim training and checks, I included training for the F/O to act as captain when the captain pretended to be subtly incapacitated. It actually DID happen once and the co-pilot, trained by me, brought the plane down and landed it beautifully. Another additional item I had suggested (not included on the check list) was that when turning on to the line to park the plane I suggested a call out by the captain to the F/O to check brake pressure. An accident (of hitting the building in another airline) occurred because of a brake pressure failure. A quick switch over to another hydraulic feed could have prevented that accident.
You worked for boeing? Or how do I get that will approve the call out system?
Hi, Captain Sadiq great to hear about your procedure which was approved bu Boeing. BUT this video seems to b very old video As PIA has retired all B747. Beautiful Aircraft.
Regards
Salute to you
Good to hear from you sir!
Are you the captain who did belly landing? The instructor discussed about you in PTC...
I love how they have the tradition of using the words like "Bismillah", "Salam Alaikum", "Walakum Salam" and "Ok Jee"
Very Pakistani :)
It’s the same in india
Pia ka matlab h pitti hoi airline apny idarro ki galti shahed pilot pa da di baigrtoo na
@@garmentsteamer3938 PIA needs to regain its past Glory. Absolutely and InshahAllah

Noticed the VOR and ILS frequencies for Lahore. No GPS or moving map displays here. Just plain old school VOR and compass navigation. Awesome.
btw it's' a really old video.
@@ahmadumar3653 Really???? We didn't know!!! 😀😀😀 I am sure everyone understood what I said and knows it's an old video except you 😆😆😆✌
No GPS but they did have INS. The VOR is used alongside the INS . On the B 707 we had VOR and NDB (ADF) navigation and for long flights , without Nav Aids , we carried a Navigator.
These are the real pilots. Flying the big queen with conventional instruments👍👍👍
Why not call it king 😀
@@gringo5866279 Because 747 is often referred to as the queen of the sky
P
And a380 the king? 😅
gogob 79-b the a380 is the king.
The crew is so concentrated yet calm and professional. It seems like this crew is composed of some of the most senior pilots and flight engineers in PIA at that time.
Whatever world think or say something negative about Pakistani pilots but it's reality that Pakistan PIA pilots are the world most professional and trained pilots from war to civilians flights they are heros ✌❤
I loved to Hear the word by Pilot "BISMILLAH" start piloting with the Name of ALLAH Subhana wa Tala, Masha ALLAH
Fanatics... What else... 🤣🤣🤣
Wait till u hear “Allahu Akbar” then the game changes.
Our brothers in Pakistan
Greeting from Egypt
I am 14 years old. I will study hard and become a pilot.
lets bro me too i have 13 years old
To die in crash
Best of luck .

Provided that your eyesight is ok. Be very careful about your eyes young man.
I love the Boeing 747-300 and other 747’s classic wide-body jetliner
Totally agree with you Neil!
I like how they are so polite, all those sirs while talking amongst themselves and also to the ATC
There's a dark side to this deferral to authority. Look up Crew Resource Management and the various fatal incidents it's lead to when officers are unwilling to question a Captain's authority
amazing video
my last travel on PIA was 21 years before.
from Germany.
Who's here after PIA airbus crash in Karachi. May their souls rest in peace.
Ameen

Classic 747-300, so beautiful and amazing. They do sound amazing and I'm glad that I got to fly on a 747-400 twice. Amazing takeoff and landing, awesome equipment, and I do enjoy seeing what the cabin looks like. Talk about a beauty and forever will be missed once they stop using these for passenger use. A lot of airlines has already stopped and soon will follow. The 747-8 will be the only ones left at one point. That is why we have these videos; we can honor the beauty of these 747's and I'm proud to say that I got to experience 2 different ones. Awesome video, I love it.
This is a true fact. Pakistan pilots are one of the best pilots in the world.
Sad what happened in Karachi and may Pakistan and the people of families involved in this unfortunate even get more power and strength
Nice to see an analog cockpit!!
Fully agree!
Bloody hell, buttered that landing. Well done pilots!!
I'm a Pakistani and I'm so proud. ❤❤❤❤
Allah PIA ko competitive hiring ki Tofeeq daay. Peon, Pilot, Traffic officer, Crew, CEO. sub Purchi+Rishwat hiring system.
Amazing to watch the cockpit of a Boeing 747-300 with a third man, the flight-ingeneer, also in this beautiful cockpit.
Last shot before landing from back of the cockpit might be the most cinematic I’ve seen from you! You should shoot more from this perspective even though it means most of the cabin is underexposed.
Glad you enjoyed that shot if I'm thinking the one you mean... but indeed while the view might be good... the lighting is not so good.
best of luck PIA from Bangladesh 🇧🇩♥️🇵🇰

PIA rests his face towel on the FO 's back 'right HDG 035"...ATC corrects sarcastically.Capt Chuckles sarcastically. I wonder about the FO Situation Awareness/ Pilot training. Excessive Sir/Jee in the challenge responses..steep cockpit gradient. PIA game is full of fun! Heading to La-Whore! Love it..fun city I hear!! Capt is boss Cap.(Star+stripe)..thorough briefing on lights...like low vis approach! Startled by temperature 37 on ATIS..Lahore.Smooth handling and landing.Quite good cockpit crew coordination and sterile cockpit throughout!
Much love from Lahore Pakistan 🇵🇰
Pakistani pilots always very good in smooth landing
most of PIA and AIR INDIA pilots r ex air forces pilots hence level of professionalism and concentration is on point.
point being it can b extremely expensive to become commercial airline pilot from scratch, thats the reason most of IAF and PAF end up being commercial airliner's pilots.
Air Force pilots have to be retrained to fly civil airliners. In PIA we had many good professional pilots who were never in the armed forces. I did not fly in the PAF. I was lucky enough to win free flying for a Commercial licence BUT, only after I had the licence was the money given to me (and my father, who financed my training.)
Fantastic Boeing and very professional Pakistani pilots.
Pakistan Zindabad
Pakistan international airlines has some of the best pilots in the world!!! Pakistan Zindabaad!!!!
a yeah true that but can’t ignore the fact that pilots are the best in the world emirates pilots are trained by pia pilots
@awhat's your national airline?
@a you still haven't answered the question.
@a original nationality please. I can say im American also but i was born in Pakistan.
Always smooth take off and landing have experienced it,great air craft.
my fav no.1 747 aircraft
At 24:41, the controller said "left heading 035". The FO read it as "right heading 035". Then the controller corrected, "Left heading 035, right heading will make you 360" and then the laughter of the captain. That was the most amazing part of this cockpit movie.
I remember back in the 80’s when Swissair operated the 747-300 into Boston. First of the SUD...Stretched Upper Deck.
A well liked service into the 90's. First here were 69 Y seats in the SUD, then they moved part of the C up there even though on the main deck it was was much more spacious. I loved that flight.
Yes totally remember that too as well as Sabena
Yup. Sabena DC-10-30. Sabena 533/534...good times 😊
this cant be recent video, right? absolute queen of the skies, the jumbo.
Yes probably 2015or2014 video
Wow! Steam gauges and The Cockpit Squad. Perfect.
Like the old skool Engineer on the Thrusters
Nice flex ✈️
Great job Especially start by Bismillah
I am proud of my Pakistani Pilots
Special thanks for uploading PIA video, Love from Pakistan :)
Very professional and skilled
It's pretty cool they have a 747 between two cities within Pakistan. I guess you have to considering the amount of people travelling between the two most dense cities in Pakistan.
JP.......Fantastic cockpit filming.....at the end! Love the detail!
Thank You......have a nice evening :-) Greetings.....Betsy.
Thank you Betsy, have a lovely day!
@@justplanes Good morning!.......Many Thanks!
Nice they still operate with flight engineers seems bit archaic but reminds me of 80's. Although those steam gauges looks kind of badass!
This 747 was the first to have a stretched upper deck to provide more room but is sadly seem to be forgotten a lot.

Did you know that some PIA pilots flew B 747s for Qatar in 1998. I was one--instructor, check and line captain?
Many thanks great video My favourite acraft. I Fly on his new modern B738 as captain. But 747 is beautest than B738.

Interesting to see the initial rollout way right of centerline.
I think so angled glass made it look like that.
Massab S. Ah, maybe some but you can see the correction to the left (quite a bit), during rollout.
At 15:16 the ATC reminds them to check landing gears....!!!!
So what if they remind to check landing gear??

Beautiful takeoff and Landing. It was not long ago when Pakistan International Airlines pilots were the best in the world..
Pakistan airlines was the best at one point of time . I doubt the pilots were.
It's like flying a museum piece.
excellent video JP , liked

Pakistani fighter pilots are famous in the world...
PIA used to be best airlines until 90s but not anymore.
What is the "Sir" thing at every action by the first officer?
Reminiscent of british rule and slavery. Subordination and hierarchical servitude has cost avoidable crashes and unnecessay deaths in pakistan's aviation industry. But due to this pathetic shameful mindset no one dares brings it to public. Look into investigation records of many of these crashes in Pakistan aviation industry.
@@einsaan this same mindset was there too when PIA was amongst the best in the world so I don't see how this is the problem
@@islamicstation1899 This was a problem then too but since the pilots were trained and qualified for aircrafts outside Pakistan the professional level and attitude towards your subordinates was better. Not to say accidents in PIA didn't happen even then but safety record was better because of adherence to protocols and qualified professionals. Not anymore. Back then no one was keeping records of near misses otherwise I know there were quite a few incidents where the 1st officer kept to himself just because of this attitude knowing the captain was making a mistake.
Bc he is senior than him
If I remember correct, there was a few crashes where the first officer didnt have the courage to question the captains actions due to wrong kind of respect.
Nice video. Really enjoyed.
I Love PIA
These are what you call qualified professional pilots not what pia has now majority of the work done now is via computer systems but the classic 747 alot of the data was shown via instrumental
Salam I think PIA has grounded its all 747-300 almost 4 years ago it’s must be an old vedio
Yes but 7 years aga
So hand flew for less than a minute may be before AP kicked in?
Flying straight and level is not hard. It's easy, that's WHY the autopilot is used. So that the menial task of attitude control can be handled by the computer and the pilots can focus on more important tasks.
For some reason people think that autopilot somehow makes flying an airliner easy. Attitude control is not what makes flying these behemoths hard.
