These are my thoughts on what could appear at the event. I'll add that I also think the spin-off could actually release next year too. So yeah, I believe if it's Verum Rex it might be announced and dropped in 2022.
Also, it's possible the next game could show both Yozora's story and also show us what's going on with the KH reality too.. They could be that ambitious with it.. Idk
Maybe I'm being too optimistic..

I agree with you I think we will get a lot of game announcements at the event such as the next side game and Kingdom Hearts 4 as a prime example and I hope they release next year as well just like how we had Dream Drop Distance during the 10th anniversary back in 2012

Hello it's been a good while! Yes indeed a fair amount has happened in this supposed "dry year". If this is what we get in downtime, next year is certain to be crazy. I'm glad you pointed out the phase almost being done because I was confused myself since I kept hearing it starts after Dark Road finishes but those boxes seem to say otherwise. Excellent video. Even when it's not a theory you point something out I didn't think of, like I never noticed that new character's eyes being yellow before.
Super hyped to see where the series goes!!!
I'd say there are three options
1. The link to who subject X is and how it relates to the union leaders
2. Origins for why some organisation members have keyblade secrets within.
3. Kari and Mickey adventure.
The more they explain the story. The less they speculate

I would like to see a Kingdom Hearts game where Riku, Kairi, Aqua, Terra, Ventus and Roxas are playable.
Still crazy that Sora actually got into Smash after all that waiting.. If we get Verum Rex and kh4 or even a bbs2/ddd2 I'll lose it. And you're right that there's a lot of games to look forward to next year, maybe two new kh games will be added to list if we're lucky
I pretty much agree with everything you said. While the small boxes on the bottom look pretty sus, it's probably just side material like tv shows and not actual games. As for the next game, I would hope it's a game focused on the trios and how Sora has affected them. I do want there to be a secret movie or unlockable play section focusing on Verum Rex though.
This is exactly the game I'm hoping they make when I said "about the trios". I would love to play through each trio with a secret unlockable Yozora origin story as a trio. So like a secret ending, but a full playable secret segment that you only get after fulfilling certain requirements with the other trios. That would certainly fit with Nomura's words about switching up the formula and telling a new story. I personally hope this is the game we get, and then Verum Rex could come out later
Miss your videos !!! I'm glad you're back ❤. I think alot of us have been overwhelmed this past year. As for Kingdom Hearts I think a lot of us want the ending of Dark Road so we can figure out where's Nomura's head at for the next title. Here's hoping for a New Year's release for Dark Road 🤞

The “wrapping up loose ends” comment could lead to a Birth by Sleep styled game. I firmly believe we’ll be getting another game with multiple playable characters like that. With Kairi, Mickey, Lauriam, Axel/Saix, Roxas, & one other person as the main leads. The past few games have clearly been setting up things for those characters as they have new arcs to deal with. Kairi training under Aqua, Mickey going to Scala, Lauriam with ties to UX, & Axel & Saix’s relation with Subject X. Roxas is just a bonus but I just want to play as him while he’s exploring Disney worlds with Hayner, Pence, & olette lol.
Regardless though, a game with this structure makes the most sense considering how many arcs has been set up. And it’s more realistic than expecting Kairi to get her own game or Mickey to get his own game.
Not to mention a total of 6 protagonists with their own stories & a final 7th “Finale” scenario would fit Nomura’s obsession with the number 7, so I could see it lol.

I have actually been thinking about that Phase 2 image a lot and have come to a thought that might have some truth to it, but could also be just me making patterns that are not really there.
Have you noticed that the three games already in Phase 2 are not really full games? Remind is DLC, Dark Road is on mobile, and KHMOM has maybe 20 minutes of story. I think that the upper level of boxes are going to be small titles like, Recoded, BBSFP, UX, and Back Cover. Important to the overall story but small. While the three lower boxes are going to be bigger games like DDD, BBS, or even a numbered title. I am a bit unsure if CoM, and Days are thought of as big titles or little ones. It could also be that the little boxes on either side of the three big boxes are in place of KH3 and the game that will be the start of Phase 3. And they are so small because they don't belong in Phase 2, but they are in the big game row because they where and are going to be big games.
I also think that the arrows likely mean that these big games are connected most closely to those smaller titles. So KH3 (if that small box is small because it isn't part of Phase 2) directly leads into Remind.
The first big tile box has an arrow from Remind and going into Dark Road. This is actually my weakest idea as I am very divided on what could fit here. Which means that it most likely is either a game heavily connected with Scala, or Xehanort. If it is connected to Scala then I think it might be a Wayfinder trio game, as I think they most likely have a lot of connections with Scala, Ventus definitely does even if the other two don't. But I really think they do. If it is a connection with Xehanort, then a prequel game either where he find Ventus, or a game about the year between BBS and the fall of Radiant Garden. Granted both ideas for a prequel game would likely be small so it's more likely something connected with Scala.
The next big box has an arrow from KHMOM and one going towards it. Which means either a Kairi game, or a game set in the year Sora has been missing. However I am really hoping for a true big Kairi title.
The last big box has an arrow from the first blank small title, and a arrow to the space between that title and the last small title. It's most likely the Sora, and Riku in Quadratum game. Which we know has to happen. If Phase 2 is going to have KH4 in it then this is the most likely box for it to fill. And honestly it could come out at any time in the Phase.
The first blank small title because it is most likely pointing to the Sora and or RIku game is most likely a prequel Yozora game. And will most likely come out after the bigger title. But I really only say that because it makes the most sense to me to learn about Unreality with people that are also new to it.
And the last small title box, I actually have trouble deciding what will be in it. Partly because it isn't connected by arrows to anything except to the the box which will be the big title between Phase 2 and Phase 3, if I am right. So a small title that leads right into the next game, like BBSFP was for KH3 could make sense. It could also be a movie version of UX which a lot of people want.
As for a game titled KH4. I am actually wondering if they are going to just stop having numbered titles and just give everything a sub title instead. What even makes some games numbered titles? Gameplay, plus Sora as a main character, and Donald and Goofy as party members. And the only game that could work would be the Sora and or Riku game, which wouldn't have Donald and Goofy. Though I guess the Kairi game might be numbered and have Donald and Goofy as party members with her instead of with Sora...which would be a bit odd as well. Though you do being up a good point about it being said that there will be at lest one more game before KH4. So KH4 must be close.
Anyway thanks for giving me a reason to talk about my newish idea for what the boxes in the Phase 2 image might mean.
This is a really interesting speculation! My biggest question about the phase 2 graphic is the arrows and yours is a very reasonable explanation for what they could mean. And I agree that we should question if there will be a game called KH4! I honestly hope they drop the numbering and just stick with subtitles, since they have so much more character and the numbers just cause confusion anyway.
Very interesting points. I have always been uncertain about wtf those boxes are, but the thing is when ReMind came out last year, we didn't actually know about Dark Road and MoM yet, and he said in an interview (I believe the Ultimania one), that there's 3 projects coming and two of them were from new teams. We know now 2 of those projects were Dark Road and MoM, which means there's still one more game we don't know about that will undoubtedly be announced at the event.
After ReMind I imagine Team Osaka has been working on KH4, (which btw I have also considered might not have that name, but I think simply to for hype factor they should probably call it that so everyone knows its a big game).
Besides that, I've always thought maybe those smaller boxes are related to some other form of media, like movies, books, shows or something, basically tie-in media that provides extra plot details between games, hence the arrows.
However, I'm not opposed to it being games personally, I'm just going purely based on what he said, but I know even he isn't always entirely reliable, and to my knowledge he's not commented on thos smaller boxes so I could be wrong

Ya, I'm really feeling the event will have the Quadratum/Verum Rex game announcement as an opening highlight, then close with KH4 as the "one more thing 😉."
Also, it's interesting that you pointed out how "non-KH fans" may potentially look at the next game with intrigue, because Nomura has even specifically stated, in one of the 2020 interviews I believe, that he does want to attract several other new types of gamers to the KH series 🤔👀.

In my head there was a 4 year gap between kh1 and kh2 due to localisation releases! Man that was painful back in the day. Especially with birth by sleep back in 2010! 9 month gap between the Japanese and international release. Please never again! Lol
