Is it possible to anodise Lead metal? No, it is not possible to anodise lead metal. Anodising is the process of electrochemically treating a metal surface to create a thin protective oxide layer. Lead is a very soft and malleable metal, and it does not form an oxide layer when exposed to an electrolyte.
Without seeing the reel, I cannot say for sure if you can anodize it for sure..... If you can, take out the Acetal (Self Lubricating Plastic, used mainly for bearings) before anodize is best. Aways best to remove an assembly before treating it as the part needs to be super clean Also, make sure the aluminium is not cast.
@@BizyBen thanks for the pro tip! i did mine but i wasn't satisfied and still learning how :) redoing it on a test dummy before going actual. Doing these things require the right preparation and tools

Can somebody please put a video on UA-cam from start to finish everything you need you need to start anodizing. I want to start analyzing gun parts but nobody on the Internet gives a good video of everything you need and how to do it from start to finish. It looks like I'm going to have to figure it out and then be the one to put a video on UA-cam

I stopped this video the moment I saw Titanium rods. Nothing like spending money for a home project, I use Aluminium wire for confections and Aluminium for the other plate in the bath.

It took 3 and a half minutes just to say "soak the parts and rinse them well" and another 3 and a half minutes to begin the electrolysis which is just an unnecessary waste of time... thanks.

Hey John, can I anodize lead blocks (weight blocks worn in belt by divers)? This could be better than painting over them.

what are your ratios for deionized water to acid?
I'm guessing probably 15% sulfuric acid, the rest water.
Is it gold ?? Or orange?? Yellow

Doing these things require the right preparation and tools
When I start anodizing attach black to cathode and red to part then my power supply trips and show 0 volt.
