Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 чер 2024
- On this vlog Connor and Eric take you up close to a wildland fire at Cherry Creek State Park. The fire burned 202 acres and took 4 days to extinguish. They also feature a fire at a high school, a vehicle collision involving a structure and a technical rescue from a trench.
Someone said the Q word on shift that day XD
ROTFL LOL one of our probies did the same thing last week! It didn’t end well and we all wanted to hit him! 🤣
Yeah I know right
Queer?
Had this happen at a funeral home I worked at. You think fires are bad, just wait til you cant even get a lunch in because all staff is needed for a freeway accident.
@@e.g.o.m.e quiet
I live in New Zealand and I'm a retired volunteer firefighter, I really enjoy watching your video logs. Keep up the good work.
The smoke from those two wildland fires was bad near our house. The wind was howling, thank God you guys were all safe. Thanks for taking care of our community!
It was so cool to see my videos. Thanks for using them!
Good shit Nate
It's so crazy that it snows the one day and the next you have a large wildfire.
I was a forest fire fighter in Northern British Columbia and for me fire season started in May when often where I was stationed there would still be 90 to 120cm of snow on the ground. Often flying to a fire we would encounter snow, sun, wind and rain and get to the fire no snow anywhere but the next valley over would be a metre deep in snow. Fun times.
That’s Colorado weather
Hey, it would be cool if there were little text overlays / explanations like what a type one engine is or a strike team is. I would also be happy to see a video about air ambulances. But as always, a great video. Greetings from Germany and always a safe service!
A strike team is a group of 5 engines types 1-7 and a strike team leader and a type 1 engine is a fire engine with a minimum of 1000 GPM water transfer and atleast a 400 gallon tank
Not sure they could do much with air ambulance due to most being contracted out by companies
Type 1 is the standard fire engine, Type 3 is a brush engine and in the case of South Metro, is based off a commercial chassis such as an International Workstar. A Type 6 is a brush truck which is based on a pickup truck chassis. The various types are national and are used so that different departments know what resources they are getting since apparatus names can vary by department/region (Think engine, squad, pumper, etc.). All strike team means is a group of apparatus responding on behalf of the department to another jurisdiction to provide extra resources. As far as what resources are in the strike team, that depends on what the incident calls for. I'm in Florida so our strike teams are usually comprised of a chief, a few engines and a few ambulances for hurricanes.
Love these types of vlogs, seeing the types of calls your department is responding to. Great video!
I used to live in Denver and love to hear what is going on back there, thank you for sharing this information this way.
Of all the things you share with us the one that is most likely to send shivers up my spine are the trench collapse. Glad they are doing ok.
Thank you Connor and Eric miss my buddies with south metro fire and rescue
I would like to you and other fire fighters for tackling it so quickly.
Your services are kindly appreciated.
Bibi
Thanks Eric and Connor for this Vlog of the 2 fires and the school . Interesting how station 47 was just getting back to the station when they noticed that fire just up the road 😮😎 the rescue from the scene with the Stokes basket looked really dangerous
@SouthMetroFireRescue- Centennial, Colorado Eric and Connor great job on the vlog and keep up the good work.
As a fire photographer in SW Missouri I would love to come out that way and get to photograph your beautiful city and the amazing firefighters , keep up the great work and yall be safe
Now that's a busy day. Great work, everyone
Great job guys I can’t believe you stopped it that quick
Anyone who puts their body against the flames are true heroes wherever they might be in the world!! Bless and keep you all!!
You guys are awesome.
SOO HAPPY YOU’RE GOING TO BE A MOTHER! I send good thought your way and wish for a safe delivery!
wow what a busy week SMFR had , cool video , be safe you guys
Its cool to see that you have some old California fire trucks in your fleet. (You can tell by looking at the trucks that have a steady burn red light in their lightbar)
I think TV shows should have some of these fires. Stay safe up there and please have a great new year.
Good to see you Eric and Connor.
Great job from PA! Be safe!
I remember when the fire sparked up Eric was on fox 31
Interesting and informative video!
I spy my favorite safety officer!! :) Great vlog!!
A wildland fire, a wildland/urban interface fire, a structure fire the crew found driving by, a wreck into a gas meter, and a trench rescue: this video has it all.
Thanks to the fire department for what they do
Once again, Rescue 34 getting plenty of work. I hope the eventual new Rescue 34 is a Pierce, because from what I've seen on this channel, they will need a durable & reliable replacement to keep up with the workload.
Great job Eric and Connor
Hope your staying warm connor and Eric Springfield Missouri is supposed to be expecting 4-8 inches of snow on Sunday and Monday
You guys had a great stop on that fire
How about a Lapel Mic for Conner when she's in that room? Would help with that "bottom of a bucket" echo of that really really live room. :) Great coverage. I wondered what was up there in the Park!
love ur videos :)
Shout out to tower 32 who turned off sirens when near the high school so class wouldn’t be disrupted more.
Most of us will be as respectful as we can with the siren - the fun part of driving code 3 wears off rather quickly for any engineer and after that the only thing that matters is keeping the public, your crew and yourself safe. We try to be silent in the night, around care homes or kindergardens, with animals in sight (especially those that are flight animals like horses or deer) and in similar situation - which is why it is especially frustrating when we get complaints about "being so noisy all the time". 99 times out of 100 it's a safety issue.
i saw that bear creek fire outside my window! got info right away thanks to your twitter!
Greetings from Poland! Cracow ;)
Let’s see if I can catch this live stream this time.
This is awesome, it is my dream job.
Aww man, I would’ve loved to hear the initial dispatch and Initial arriving crew
CONNOR CHRISTIAN!!!!! love the name change
Much love SM:FR!
I've heard that the FDNY has "thawing units" to deal with pumps and ladders freezing over.
Good job
WOW busy week
I could see the smoke, I'm surprised that it wasnt controlled until 3 days later
I had a question that you might be able to answer. We had record level of snow in Ohio this year. In some areas, the fire hydrants are close enough to the road that, when plowed would burry them in snow and ice. In a fire when time is a factor, would a crew spend time to dig out that hydrant or seek an alternative water source
Wow!!
My dads a firefighter been working for 15 years the brushfire look like the one in Idaho 2 years ago
Metro area is crazy in 2021 last year it was C-19 now it’s metro area fire’s
I can't help but laugh at the use of garden hoses fighting the woodland fire, but I suppose any port in a storm.
It works. Not trying to put it out with the garden hose but slow/stop it. You soak land around your house to keep the fire back and soak the roof to keep wind blown sparks igniting.
Does South Metro Fire use box alarms like second alarm, third alarms, etc for structure or wildland fires?
When upgraded to a large brush response does this bring in air attack ?
I was listening on pulsepoint during the school fire And I was glad it was contained to the bathroom
Very interesting PIO vlog,
Fire Captain-Day in the life please
Do a day in a life of a PIO
Some one must have used the magic word that morning O.o and shout out to the crew of Engine 47 for the house fire.
I could only imagine what MetCom was going through with both fires.
Why would someone set a fire in a high school and of the places they did it where they did it?
I feel so sorry for the kid accidentally set the school on fire i’ll be praying for him that’s very bad
Strange you have no snow.
The entire intermountain west region has a lot less snow than usual this year. I'm expecting a lot of drought conditions this summer.
I used to work at a school. We had the fire alarms go off over some burnt pop corn. The students are so used to having drills every month they all stayed where they were continuing to read and do their work thinking it was another drill. I had to run around and tell them it wasn't a drill. Monthly fire drills are a danger.
Hook the line and remember your 10s and 18s
Looks like a 20/20 day if ur a ff you know what that means
Can we get some more pd vlogs
9 news be like BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I have a question do you guys have a Lucas??
Me
My son sick sick because of that fire
how can i become a fireman in south metro
Aaaaand a "vehicle v strutcture" accident again... You should really get your council to make your roads safer...
Every vlog is an MVA vs structure which has to out take medical, and I agree they do, or if you watched the Q and A video when they talked about it... they need to just set up guard rails even in residential zones that you hit it you don’t damage the car and it roles you back into the street, they make them just cost a lot of money, plus they cover a ton of different areas, the city of Littleton, Unincorporated Douglas County, Greenwood Village, and a few other areas. So it’s multiple councils they need to talk to about it.
So I took PIO as a college course this last semester would that mean I could fill a PIO position or no ?
One course is most likely not enough to get an official paid position, but you can of course always start as a volunteer for a non-profit organization to get started. Take some other related courses to amend your competencies especially in the realm of communication (writing and presentation) and interviews..
@@2Fast4Mellow So I got 5 seasons of Wildland Fire Experience , Saws courses, Wildland Fire Investigation, Finance and logistics, and bout 6 more classes. Including Wide Area Search certification from Texas A&M.
@@2Fast4Mellow I recently have passed L-280 the second Leadership course. I do have experience, and a good bit of education of Wildland Fires.
@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO I will have to look further into this thanks so much I been wanting to get my Wildland Fire Technology Degree before I join a Fire Department. So that I an finished with school an learn other skill if I can from the Department I join. Eric you two PIO are so awesome I love watching yalls Vlogs daily.
are y’all a couple
Firstly
Auto correct
I have a question why is their not much diversity at smfr
It's reflective of the demographics in Colorado, 87% white.
