The hardest thing about set design, especially sets as elaborate and rich as these, seems like it would be tearing it all down when shooting is done. Must be gut-wrenching to see it all torn up when it's over.
I was there during the shoot in Kathmandu. I was eagerly waiting alongside other fans to meet Benedict but the Marvel crews hid Benedict and Chiwetel and took them through another passage while we were waiting at another exit. Nevetherless, I got to see him up close.
I was impressed with Benedict Cumberbatch’s enthusiasm to get his part right in the hobbit playing Smaug, if you get a chance to watch what he did in rehearsal and filming you can understand why he’s so good for his part in Dr Strange...great bloke to chat to too...
5:52 I can’t believe that is a SET if I walked through there and they didn’t tell me it was a set I would think it was real and probably fall off at the end 🤣
I honestly thought even MCU can't do Doctor Strange a live action justice because duh?! But, what can I say, its actually one of my favorite movies, the setting and cinematography was quite magical!
I love Dr. Strange is my favorite Marvel character and of course he has powers I would dream of. He's got a great flying cloak when he disappears into the infinity war I was sorry but it was cool that he came back into endgame
I would probably faint if I walked into the Sanctum set. I have been obsessed with Dr. Strange since I was 12, and it would be just be to much for the fanboy in me.
i still in love and can't get move on from the graphic of dr strange movie. they really built a great environment reflection of temple vibes from katmandu. such a passion!
This movie is a masterpiece. In my case, after I suddenly found myself with a severely debilitating disease, all I could think about was how to end my life quickly. Doctor Strange lost the use of his hands but he discovers a world of miracles: that gave me hope and confidence. I always watch it again when I need motivation! 😍💖😁😊🤗😀
Yeah, one of my favorites in the movie aside from the story, vfx, actors and set, the costume. My favorite costume in MCU and also I like his hair. I want that hair loo
Apart from all the obvious accolades everyone involved in making these movies, deserve...... I am also overawed at how many many people it all gives work to...Bravo...
I've been an actor for years, and fought like crazy to get a part in a Marvel film, dating back to X-Men (I wanted Cyclops). I didn't get to be Hulk (Ed Norton got it), and didn't get it again (Ruffalo), so I was left wondering if there was anyone left I could play at my age... I thought I might be able to play Strange, in the "unlikely" event they added him to the MCU... and then they did! Of course, I didn't get it, and watching all this convinces me there's no way I could have carried a film this complex. Cumberbatch did an amazing job, as did everyone involved. I'm sad I didn't get a chance at a part in the MCU, but utterly delighted with what we ended up with.
@@lokiofasgard2290 Tried for any other actors? I'm not sure what you mean. As it is, I don't know what other character I might play if the opportunity arose. Perhaps Mr. Fantastic, or possibly a villain? It would need to be a character that is a little older, as I'm older now than I was.
I love how they said Kathmandu is un touched by western influences than a few minutes later you see a bunch of teenagers with american sports cloths on yelling Benedict Cumberbatch!!! and throwing up the peace sign lol.
@FullmetalandtheFlame so true . It should have not disappeared.

@FullmetalandtheFlame honestly, I'd prob cry because then you would see the cape look for Dr strange only to not be found :(. It would be worse than Peter Parker lol
I love this movie so much, definitely my favorite marvel movie alongside with Spider Man far from home I also love Benedict to death I’d love to meet him he seems very friendly idk

Is this why it’s taking a long time to get a 2nd Doctor strange movie because they have to build a lot of these sets. Doctor strange came out before Spider-Man and Spider-Man has 2 solo movies already and doctor strange multiverse of madness won’t be out until 2021 -_-
Just now realizing that people did not like this when it first came out? Hello???? Not everything in mcu gotta be flashy and violent all the time. This and Ragnarok were amazing in the post CW mcu. My fave scene from this is the one with Ancient One's death and her convo with Strange.
It’s a shame that they went to so many Asian places and had so many Asian elements, yet Wong is like barely a main cast in the whole film among the Asians in the film...
Keeping an american accent or whatever accent feels like talent becuase I'm bad at accents. I'm American. And I'm bad at trying to speak British accents
It's ridiculous how much love, effort and attention to detail went into this movie that most people were pretty "meh" on.
people never appreciate anything. all they want is bright colors and explosions and CGI porn
I haven't seen it yet. Seems a bit above 'meh' to me...
ik I didn’t even realise there was a dr strange movie for so long
right honestly this movie is so underrated & deserves better
@@daisoua6484 for me this was the better movie of mcu
I didn't realise when this video smoothly became a Kathmandu documentary
😂😂😂
😭

Wait, they're not keeping it? Maybe for the sequel or marvel museum or somekind of disney world?
They get used to it
All good things must come to an end :)
@@liwi Not true. rainbows are good. and no one can find the end of one.
Well they have a second movie coming up
Dr. Strange is one of the best movies in the MCU. The clothing, effects everything. Perfectly balanced.
As all things should be
I can’t wait for Dr. Strange 2.
Nevaeh Ramos Yup. Who'd you think he'll resurrect?
2 years oof!
It's gonna be a multiverse of madness
The Aftermath of Mordo, maybe 👍😀?
Gosh, this comment was made more than 2 years ago. Some people must be tired of waiting. I hope the sequel won't let those people down.
I was there during the shoot in Kathmandu. I was eagerly waiting alongside other fans to meet Benedict but the Marvel crews hid Benedict and Chiwetel and took them through another passage while we were waiting at another exit. Nevetherless, I got to see him up close.
wait really? Wow...that must be a dream come true!
that soo cool
God damn
Hey go away you guys are the most isolated from the Western World!

Please tell us.. I'm genuinely curious
Smaug is soo great. I know he be evil but...
I wasn't surprised when I realized that he also portrayed Dormammu (motion capture and voice), which sorta makes him a dark reflection of Strange.
@@kyanoang3l0_old yes, a bit like him in "what if"…

The Cloak took Dr. Watson's role 😄
Sherlock reference, I see
It's ok, he works for the C.I.A now in the MCU
he is the perfect cast for dr strange!!
Benedict Cumberbatch, YOU are "utterly inspiring."
Have you noticed that every British actor does amazingly well? Like Tom hiddleston, Tom Holland..
That is maybe my favorite movie ever from the MCU universe. Benedict's acting is just impeccable.
Doctor Strange is one of the most beautifully made movies. Like the effects, the design of the clothing and the weapons and the sanctum are amazing.
man the set production is insane
Respect to the people who work backstage, the props and the creators. I am learning about how much they do to make a film what it is.
The unsung heroes.

Bleecker st? Sounds a bit like Baker st to me 🤔
221b Baker Street and 177a bleaker street. 🤔🤔🤔 love Sherlock Holmes
That's why they choose a name that could sound closer to Sherlock's one
...
Marvel loves to put big references
@@nigelarjoon3062 The funny thing is that when you turn 177 upside down, it almost looks like 221. And "a" precedes "b". Connections, connections.
Pahaha, I think this was actually pure coincidence, Bleecker Street has been around for a long time, it's a real location in NYC
best marvel movie visually. PERIODT.

11:20 POV: Your working at the comic book shop like the usual and then you look outside to see DOCTOR STRANGE running past the shop
Love seeing the behind the scenes videos of MCU movies. Makes it even better when you go back and watch the MCU films.
Thanks Marvel. 🔥👌🔥
I absolutely love the doctor strange films, colorful, vibrant, unique action, they stand out to me a lot.

Marvel branding our culture and heritage through this movie… so proud from nepal🇳🇵
