- This is the documented adventure of Patter running his UA-cam channel on a Nintendo Wii. The web browser works surprisingly well, but this project was nothing near simple! This one took a loooong time to make, but at least editing was easier than the DSi video.

They're afraid that releasing a browser on the Switch will make it vulnerable to exploits like the WII U. Not that it matters since the switch has been vulnerable since day 1 due to the Tegra hardware exploit, but whatever.

i spent like 2 years using internet solely through my wii, cursed era. i remember youtube *used* to actually work through the browser, i watched youtube poops lmao
gl1tterb0mb UA-cam Poop and Urusei Yatsura series... I missed those days. This was even before UA-cam went downhill in a bad way. Now we can't even go through one day without being stereotypical, political, or seeing a kid talk about memes and assume Spongebob wearing a condom and not a air helmet. I'm not joking, some kid actually said that on purpose and told us he's keeping that comment up for us to read.
On an actual wii and not a wii u you can get the youtube from the shop channel. It can work to this day mediocerally

I used to use UA-cam on my Wii's web browser. It took a lot of patience but it worked eventually.
Those were dark times
I used the Wii u and 3ds browsers to watch yt back before I had a phone or tablet.
Yeah.. Too sad the they had to discontinue the YT channel.. Sadly the browser doesn't work anymore with yt i guess.
There was a wii channel for youtube, it was discontinued in 2016... I think

I remember spending time when I was perticularly stressed and anxious in 2008, at age 16, watching UA-cam on the Wii in the living room so I can attest that UA-cam *absolutely* did work on the Wii...it's just that 13 years of UI updates, video re-encodings and what-not messed it aaaaaall up. x)
The series keeps getting better.

Peter Knetter put home brew on your wii and download a .wad of UA-cam. That would technically be UA-cam content as you are trying to install UA-cam (haha get it)

I remember early 2011s using the Internet Channel as we didn't have a computer (we did have one but my mom was using it all the damn time). Using UA-cam, listening to music and all of that stuff. Fucking makes me emotional thinking about it. Honestly miss it

UA-cam at least in my experience worked on the Wii browser. You just have to clear the app data which also doubles as the cache every 5 minutes. The Wii browser also uses a version of Flash Player light so certain web games should still work, but you'll still have to put up with the cache filling up quickly.

The UA-cam app on the Wii was shut down a good while ago; therefore the app is no longer available on the Wii Shop Channel.
Which reminds me, the Wii Shop Channel itself will be shut down early 2019.
