  • With a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V10 producing 572bhp, the RS6 C6 is a tempting proposition, especially as they can become absolute monsters, when tuned.
    But - and there's always a 'but' - they can be eye-wateringly expensive to maintain!
    In this video, we talk you through an engine swap on a rare, low mileage saloon and answer the question: Should you buy an RS6 C6?

    Hi Ricky! question. Can you delete the balancing shaft from an Audi S6/S8 5.2 V10 and just use an idle gear instead? Love your shop, your guys, your content. Thanks! Debbie.

    Hahaha brilliant, these cars really test ones patience! I have two, bought a donor car in appalling state to fix my crash damaged facelift 2010. I have to learn on the fly and sadly no hoist to assist with engine out.
    Still worth it in my books when you can easily smash past 300kph!

    Just changed my mind real quick. Weighing up chucking away my tuned saab for a car thats quick stock because I'm tired of fixing it on my drive every 5 minutes but looks like this would be the same story but more money each time. A nice w211 e55k might have to do it then. Any suggestions of a reliable fast estate in the 15-25 range that isn't a maintenance, engine out nightmare?

    This is my dream car since I saw Richard Hammond drive it on Top Gear, I've just picked up the exact car in Sepang Blue with low miles/owners with the carbon ceramics. MOT tester said the steering rack has play which has now given me the fear after watching this video, Also has an oil leak as I can smell it after a hard run. Do I do the work or get rid for an RS3 🤔

    Thanks for the sound consumer advice. There are sweet spots in the performance car market. Always thought tuning a B7 S4 was probably a smarter move for your wallet than the TS4. It is a shame about the C6 RS6 because the bottom ends on those V10's are meant to be good for 1200hp!

    Taking engines out is a good way of determining the tensile strength of anything you've not disconnected ...... 😂😂
    P.S 1.0 ecoboost is an engine out to do a cam belt (Easiest way anyhow), don't mention wet cam belts or disintegrating oil pump belts or a blown cylinder head gasket on the middle pot due to losing a cup full of coolant ( gets the hottest due to the stoooopid inhead exhaust manifold so pops first)

  • @surreaLinnovatioN
    @surreaLinnovatioN 8 місяців тому

    Why don't you replace these coolant and connectors with more generic durable parts to avoid being financially destroyed?
    The 996s (coolant hoses) and BMW N63s have that problem with coolant hoses where you pay 2,000$ for otherwise 120$ worth of silicone hoses and T's if you replaced them .
