I just bought a used KH 602 from a good friend of mine. Mine has an original Floyd Rose, EMG 81/60. Mine is most definitely neck thru. I'm sure they all are. I can't say enough good about this axe. Ii have wanted this guitar since I first saw Kirk with his right after Justice came out in 1988. This is one of my top 5 dream guitars. Not only does it give me Kirk Hammett vibes, it also sounds killer and really goes well with my Thrash Metal tone that I use. I plugged into my Orange Super Crush 100 half stack and it blew me away! Mine has the EMG 81/60 PU set and I love it! This is my new number one. It does everything I want effortlessly.
I bought mine in 2008, and it came with EMG 81 in both the bridge and neck. The weight of this guitar is noticeable after playing standing up for 45 minutes or more. The neck thru body design is awesome, the whole guitar resonates nicely when played hard.
Great video! Saw you used this guitar in your most recent video with the mesa boogie stack, was going ask you for a KH-602 review, then I saw you did it already! I bought mine in 2020 (also MiK) and it’s cool to see the differences over the years! The fit and finish is exceptional. Not even a hint of a single sharp fret. I have modified mine a bit. Installed a trem block, and replaced some of the hardware with gold. Looks excellent against the black. Upgraded to a D-tuna and gotoh locking tuners.
Thank you! I really like the KH602. The EMGs have their own character. I was afraid I wouldn’t like them but they are nice. Great for soloing. The have a certain tonal quality that work really great for heavy music. I’d like to see yours with gold. Must really pop visually!
i dont remember when i bought mine exactly.it was around 2004-2006.it has the original floyd rose,i dont know when they started putting 1000 series ehich are basically the same just different origin country.i love emgs and i love this guitar.i thing that i can play anything with them.the only think that i dont understand is why when you are in middle position and you have the neck volume at 0 it cuts the bridge pickup also no matter the volume that you have set in bridge pickup.
Great guitars for sure. Very heavy and built well. In the middle position it is balancing both volumes so when one is at zero it will turn everything silent. Just like a Les Paul in the middle position.
Pretty sure it’s 81 81 pickup configuration. I know that sounds weird but that’s how Kurt did his guitar back in the 90s and that’s how they did the early signature models
She's a beauty mate! Love it... Notice that salt and pepper in that goatee there son. Looking distinguished and dapper young man. Remember, with a great goatee comes great responsibility! Use it wisely... and often. LOL! :)
That is a 2006 from the serial number. Those are neck-thru construction and back then they had a rosewood fretboard which I prefer. Now they come with that ugly pau ferro that is much lighter and occasionally an ugly orange coloration. Not a fan. Good video man , nice review. The camerawork had a little yellowish light to it though. Enjoy your KH-602!
Thanks for the info man! This guitar is very very heavy. I have not weighed it but man it’s a tank. I’m not a huge fan of EMGs but these pickups do exactly what they’re supposed to do for that Kirk Hammett sound and style. 😎🤟🏻

It is heavy! I love how it resonates and feels. Amazing guitar. Thanks for the comment!
I bought mine at 2008-2009. And it was with floyd rose original too. In cost like 550 dollars.
@@borschetsky great price. I love the guitar. Solid, heavy and plays great.

Active pick ups are the best. If you're thing is low noise which that's how I am can't stand that fucking buzz that passive pick ups have.
