      Damn finally! lol all the teases on the bed and on instagram. Quick question, I think you covered this topic on an askgufish a while ago but I forgot lol. Do you think you'll ever do some Schecters? They do do some singlecuts, but there's the hellraiser superstrat shapes (which are awesome). Hardtail string through, EMGs, chunky but not too chunky neck, you'd rock the shit out of them lol.

    My first ever pro guitar was an LTD KH-602 back in like 2006, when it came with dual EMG 81 and original floyd rose instead of the 1000 series and my god, what a monster guitar. I cried when I had to sell it in order to pay the bills.
    One of my friends has an original 1997 ESP KH-2 Ouija and the LTD ones are pretty damn close in quality.
    I wish I had enough money to get that LTD Ouija, because that design plus the top is absolutely gorgeous.

    I read a lot of hate comment for EMG. Sometimes I get carried away by those comment and wanted to swap my EMG. But, I like EMG sound when combined with heavy distortion. So, I keep my EMG.
    Your rhythm guitar sound in this demo is AWESOME !
    One of my favorite ESP body shape is M-II. But, I don't want to buy any Kirk's signature because it's expensive and the spec isn't much different from regular M-II. If the price is the same, I rather buy an ESP USA M-II than Kirk's signature.
    Regarding LTD neck and radius. I find extra thin U shape is still comfortable, but I still prefer regular thin U shape. 14" radius is uncomfortable for me. It makes the fingerboard feel wider. Thin U, 12" radius, and extra jumbo fret are the best combination for my hand.

    ESP must do a reissue of the MX 220 Eet Fuk Hetfield guitar... only if Gibson agrees on the use of explorer shape

    Metallica was my reason for picking a guitar up too. Also your videos and your guitar playing inspires me too, you play great. Nice video, great review. I’m more of a les Paul guy but anything Metallica sounds good.

      Hunter has upped his game! I know Kirk is an internet punching bag. But this solo is honestly more musical most of the solos on the last 2 Metallica albums

      bwgti as I said sounds great, I'm not against wah but agufish was restrained in its application and added to the Kirk vibe without being over the top

    The cleans sound incredibly neat and clear, that is strange/unusual in an EMG set...

    • @agufish
      @agufish  6 років тому +1

      In my experience that's actually usually what they sound like. I'm not sure why the normal perception of EMGs is that they're too hot for cleans. They're just super clear IMO.

    I love ebony fretboards. Its a way of getting a dark fretboard but at the same time having a brighter sound similar to maple. Best of both worlds. I usually prefer Ebony or Maple to Rosewood personally

    • @fahdchoudry7763

      The fretboard wood doesn't even make a difference in sound u moron

      And YES maple has a brighter tone, Rosewood has a warmer tone. This is well established

    • @ad1170
      @ad1170 6 років тому

      fahd s different feeling yes, but tone? I personally cast doubt on the idea that wood species honestly makes a difference because all the evidence for it is anecdotal/emotional arguments rather then logical ones. A les paul custom has big block inlays that cover most of the frets but the tone is the same whether I play a string on the fret that is wood and the fret that is inlay. Ether it makes no difference or the difference is negligible to the point it can't be heard. Like I can hear the difference in amps to the point I know the sound of a Jcm 800 or a boogie. I am also very firmilar with the duncan Jb pick up that I know when it's used. This is something I know other people can do but I have yet to meet someone who is able to guess the wood of the guitar from the sound in a blind test.
      Quality matters, but the species doesn't. Leo fender originally wanted to make his first guitars out of pine not because of it's sonic quality, but because it was cheap and easy to source. Alder/maple and ash where the same. He could source it in the US rather then having to import timber from africa/south America and Asia. Fender wasn't a guitarist but a business man who wanted to mass produce the electric guitar.
      It's even more interesting when you see the woods that in "guitar world" are treated as a premium, but in the real world are treated like scrap. Purple wood is something you only see on boutique custom stuff but I've seen it used to make pallets in some countries.
