Surface modeling is an alternative to Solid Body modeling. Essentially, it’s just another tab at the top of the SOLIDWORKS User Interface. Surface modeling is an important tool to have in your box because it not only makes modeling easier, it sometimes makes modeling possible. In other words, there’s some geometry that is impossible to create without using surface features.

I never used a 3D printer, yet looking at the parts that printed on 3D printers my conclusion: yes it should be printable!

Solidworks 3d sketch solver is very bad. I wrote my own using chrome browser and java script in two months using just two linear algebra books. My solver is much better than proprietary sw solver.
