That ending scene is the most powerful scene in the show. Listen to the monologue "They don't appreciate beauty, cannot create art. If they understand both of those, they don't have to destroy us, they'll just become us". Cameron, in her room alone with no one watching, is performing a really beautiful ballet piece. She's a machine created for killing. Nothing else. Ballet is very difficult and precise and one of the toughest dances to master. And here is this machine doing it, not because she has to, but because she wants to. She's demonstrating self awareness and free will. Derek is crying because it's both a beautiful and truly horrifying thing to see knowing and having seen everything he has seen.

That and also because the music (Chopin) was the same music playing in the basement where Derek was tortured in the previous episode. It gets explained later on but as Cameron becomes more and more self-aware the more preferences she likes. The color purple is a big one, so is her preference for glock pistols whenever she can. She develops emotions and short of becoming pregnant and having a baby there is nothing a human can do that she can't do. At the same time she is still very young and very mission oriented. As she gets older would she have saved them? Maybe. Because at the same time one of the biggest mistakes Cameron makes is trusting Sarah kills a witness who knew of their location and (surprise surprise) that witness is later found by Cromartie and interrogated. Sentimental is nice, but showing mercy can end up only getting more people killed - as Sarah later finds out the hard way.

Thanks for the review, keep them coming because the series is worth it even though it was canceled before season 3. The Quality continues to the bitter end. #tscc #Terminator

    "She can eat!"
We saw her eat a potato chip in the 1st episode after John asked her how she was different.

Derek was upset at the end because that is what he saw in that basement. What he saw in that basement was why he knew the Cameron terminator in the base was a terminator on sight.

Pretty similar reactions actually. I will say thank you for the pancake crack and yes, the scream 🤣. I did that too, just when he injected the FBI agent because I thought they were about to kill off an actor I like. Kind of funny how you thought he was fine at the injection and I thought he was fine at the fire scene. My reasoning: villain walked away and it was more violent than I figured they'd do. How'd you know it was a sedative? As for a dancing Terminator, well "she is a creature of extraordinary grace" 😊

I love that the pancakes are sorta a running gag now 😆 I wasn't sure haha, I just hoped it was one 🙏😂 Do you know the actor from other shows as well? Lol she is^^

Cameron doing ballet at the end is pretty profound. No logical reason for a machine to do it. She’s doing it because she *wants* to do it. We see flashing of this in season 1 by season 2 it’s pretty crystal clear that Cameron is self-aware and has free will.

It's amusing how Silberman becomes a 'true believer' in Judgement Day, stark raving mad AND he ends up in Sarah's old cell at Pescadero...

Emotional. Distraught. Because a machine, a Terminator, is what Derek Reese sees that is performing a beautiful act such as ballet and all he sees it do where he’s from is killing humans, and that’s got to eat his gut that for the first time, he sees a Terminator perform an act of beauty, knowing that it’s, in fact, a killing machine.
