He also wrote this song and I believe it went to # 1. And, last but not least, it is a crime that Johnny Rivers IS NOT in the vaunted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. { this, above all, is one of my biggest pet peeves }

Yes and his family moved to Baton Rouge when he was 5 years old. My mom went to school with him in Baton Rouge.
