Why is the Shincheonji group considered a cult?
    1. Deification of Lee Man-hee: Shincheonji elevates Lee Man-hee to the status of a savior or someone who has received special revelations. His words are treated as having absolute authority. This directly contradicts the Christian doctrine that Jesus Christ is the sole Savior.
    2. Distortion of Biblical Interpretation: Shincheonji claims that they alone have the correct interpretation of the Bible. They use literal or figurative interpretations of specific passages to promote teachings that differ from traditional Christian doctrines. For example, they regard their leader, Lee Man-hee, as the "overcomer" or the "advocate," granting him authority beyond that of the Bible.
    3. Exclusive Eschatology and Salvation: Shincheonji emphasizes an exclusive salvation doctrine, claiming that only their members are part of God's salvation plan or that the end times will occur on a specific date. This conflicts with traditional Christian teachings, which emphasize salvation through Jesus Christ.
4 Deceptive Evangelism Methods: Shincheonji often conceals their identity during their evangelism process, initially inviting people to Bible study meetings or cultural events without revealing their affiliation with Shincheonji. Gradually, participants are introduced to their teachings. Such methods are criticized as unethical.
    5. Infiltration of Churches and Conflict: Shincheonji is known to infiltrate traditional churches to recruit members or cause division within congregations. This behavior exacerbates conflicts with established churches.
    6. Family division: Members of Shincheonji often experience conflicts with their families and churches. So Many families were broken because of this cult. .
Antisocial behavior: The group's secretive nature and actions that undermine social trust are frequently criticized.
    7. Official Position of Christian Denominations: All the Korean Christian denominations have officially labeled Shincheonji as a cult, warning believers not to fall for their teachings. This is because Shincheonji’s doctrines and practices are fundamentally at odds with biblical and traditional Christian faith.

Matthew 7:15: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves." Jesus warns that false teachers may appear righteous or well-intentioned but are ultimately destructive.
    • 2 Peter 2:1: "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction." This passage warns of false teachers who introduce heresies that mislead people away from the core truths of the Christian faith.
Distortion of the Gospel isn’t Christ like. Believers are encouraged to adhere to the teachings of Christ and the Scriptures, rejecting any group that tries to undermine or twist God's Word.

I'm currently attending these classes and I've been feeling torn about these testimonies. The class is broken into 3 sections (beginner, intermediate, advanced) I'm currently in intermediate and I was loving the classes but intermediate has been just slightly questionable for me. There has been heavy emphasis on evangelism and bringing people out of Babylon which has been making me feel some kind of way. The promised pastor also throws me off. I'm really out here just trying to form a relationship with God & I really just don't know how to feel about all these testimonials 🥺

SCJ is built on lies and deceive! From the very first point of contact with SCJ members, I was never ever told the real name of this group. Jesus Christ himself NEVER deceived or lied to anyone to follow him. SCJ only focuses on a few scriptures and interpret them however they like so they can benefit from them.

At the end of the day it’s your choice and you will leave when you are ready, but take it from someone who’s been there 7 years and were in many leadership positions in the church…SCJ is extremely deceptive at first the word is good and different than anything you’ve ever heard…everything lines us with matching versus. What they don’t tell you is there are a lot of other Korean churches who have similar doctrines…they will just lie and say they stole it from the First Tabernacle. It is a cult that will ruin your life and create distance in your relationships but never explicitly tell you to do anything. You will soon find out a lot of Korean cults are the same even though they tell you those churches are Babylon and you are in the true Church. The Promised Pastor is a 90 something year old man with health conditions and what they won’t say is he is sick and currently planning his funeral to mimic that of the Late Reverend Moon. He is very cognizant he is not living forever. Also be careful who in the class you tell you are watching these videos as they will tell you it’s the fruit of TKGE

I understand how your experiences have affected you, but I want to encourage you to go to church, not just for the community, but because of what the Bible teaches in Hebrews. It reminds us of the importance of gathering together as believers: ‘Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but encourage one another’ (Hebrews 10:25). Attending church helps us strengthen our faith and support each other.

    Info taken from google
Some cults in South Korea include:
    Shincheonji Church of Jesus
Also known as Shincheonji, this Christian new religious movement was founded in 1984 by Lee Man-hee. Shincheonji's teachings claim that Lee is the New Testament's promised pastor and that he can decipher the Book of Revelation's secret metaphors. Shincheonji became unpopular in 2020 after authorities linked it to thousands of COVID cases.
    Providence
Also known as Christian Gospel Mission (CGM) or Jesus Morning Star (JMS), this Christian new religious movement was founded in 1980 by Jung Myung-seok. Jung is a self-proclaimed messiah who was convicted of rape in 2008 and again in 2022.
    Unification Church
Also known as the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, this church was founded in 1954 by Sun Myung Moon.
In South Korea, cults are often called I-dan, which means "heresy". Some characteristics of cults include:
A prophet, or someone who identifies themselves as the "chosen one"
Promises based on misinterpretations of the Bible
A plan that provides a step-by-step guide to salvation
A physical place for centralized control
Fraud, such as monetary extorsion or sexual crimes

Question, I am baffled. Nobody reported this to the local police. If you go to advanced course, they will ask for your identification such as passport and their exuse is to put you in the book of life. Isn't that illegal? Yes, a school can do it because they are a government organization, but Shincheonji is not well established enough to be considered recognized by the local government. But if a lot of ex members report the book of life and having to put your information, isnt that breaking the law?

@brendabriones well let your friends that are in Korea or if you were part of the Korean one to report it to the police. Because in America it isn't popular, I wonder why? Because it will easily be shut down, we have freedom of speech. The movement to shut down a cult, and sadly, most of the members in a cult think it is for the right cause. They are brainwashed without them knowing. A couple of my friends are in there and already gave them their personal information, all because they use the Lord's name. Why does the church need their personal information? As long as you come in thirsty for the word.

I am currently in service, and in order to go beyond their class and actually get "special lessons," calling it a calling for christ, you will have to share your personal information and may include social security. And, I have not shared my information or even used the camera as they desperately seek so they know who you are, they are criminals in disguise and unfortunately a lot of members have been taken without them knowing, thinking it is good deeds of christ. When actuality christ wants us to avoid these types of teachings

I even proved their teachings wrong with continuing into scripture. They claim many things yet even scripture will tell you exactly what things mean in the exact paragraph within each book such as in pauls letters to the churches and even in the gospels. The "advocate" which is the comforter that Jesus promised.. right in John 14 and 16 it says exactly who the comforter is the HOLY SPIRIT! not some man who has come to bring people to mt zion... It is a cult. I can prove many of their claims wrong. Honestly I am grateful for being in the cult because it gave me the desire to seek God with my WHOLE heart and truly KNOW HIM. The God they make in your head is not the God I know now. Shincheonji is demonic...

@@roger49032 How is it a cult? give me reasons? You're labeling them as cult but they're standard is the Word of God.

Brenda , when Jesus came to this world . Only 12 people accepted him . People like you were the others who decided to kill him . Jesus words were only accepted by 12 people . Consider yourself warned !! You are not just against Shincheonji but God himself .
There is no wonder , that the world didn’t accept Jesus and how people like you will accept the messenger of God 😂

SCJ is built on lies and deceive! From the very first point of contact with SCJ members, I was never ever told the real name of this group. Jesus Christ himself NEVER deceived or lied to anyone to follow him.

I find it strange that you would put a laugh emoticon after "warning" someone that they are against the god you believe in and that they are like the people who killed Jesus. What about that is humorous to you?
There is a difference between not accepting a person's testimony and committing an act of violence on someone, like killing them. Be careful to conflate the two with each other. It makes you look pretty silly.

Shincheonji is a cult, just like many other from south korean, did you ever hear about ahm sahg hong ? and the "god mother" ? They just claim to be the church of God like your cult. Ahn sang honn said he was JESUS 😱 can you believe that ❓️ and his widow now continues the lies by saying she is the god mother 😱 isn't that a blasphemy ? Oh yes ! Just like lee man hee the false savior, the false messiah. So who to believe then 🤔❓️ nobody ‼️

Lmao you Pharisee. God told Moses to choose 70 men to share the leadership responsibilities and Joshua tried to get Moses to rebuke the ones that stayed behind in camp:
“Two men, Eldad and Medad, had stayed behind in the camp. They were listed among the elders, but they had not gone out to the Tabernacle. Yet the Spirit rested upon them as well, so they prophesied there in the camp.”
      ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭11‬:‭26‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“But Moses replied, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit upon them all!””
      ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭11‬:‭29‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Can’t pour new wine into old wine skin. Yeshua never resorted to deception and narcissistic abuse. Read your Bible and compare translations on your own. With men is not possible but with God all things are possible!

@@SCJSkeptici agree with you! Sounds like that person is rejoicing in someone else’s demise. I guess they missed the part of love your enemies and pray for them in Matthew…smh
