Girl!!! I was just in this Equipped Bible study course excited to learn more about the word. As soon as we did the light and darkness lesson about a faithful servant I knew where this was going. I told my husband we are being hustled but I'm enjoying reading the bible with other people. But the lessons became increasingly centered around going where the word is being revealed or with them. At this point they Haven't even mentioned their church but I did my own research and knew they operated out of South Korea. Just yesterday after the lesson I texted my facilitators and told them I'm done and blocked everyone.

I was in the same group as you Fabien. I had questions throughout the process and the biggest red flag for me was them not wanting me to tell my family about the bible study. And I prayed about it, and I just saw that this is no longer centered around Lord Jesus Christ and God's proper will.
Mahle Majola spoke about this , the enemy is fighting in all ways but he forgets that God fights for his own and he will always win over the darkness, I'm glad he pulled you back before you went too deep

Sharing is good. A friend introduced me to this cult...after 3 months of Bible study and numerous questions, I looked up their doctrine and cults in SA...long story short, I got out and shared my story with all my close friends. I am thankful that I did because the husband of my close friend almost got recruited into SCJ when he started at his new job (attended one Bible study session), and another friend got recruited randomly at the mall (messaged me an hour or two later and immediately blocked the recruiter)...they were able to pick up the red flags and reach out to me for confirmation because I had decided to share my journey with them. So, lets keep spreading awareness.
Its nice to know that we are not alone . Last year i attend the equip bible class . After being there for 5 months i saw red flags . After i saw the online service i knew something was wrong . I did some research then i left , i told that they should not bother to contact me again and that was the last time i heard from them .
You're definitely not alone. Also, good for you for being firm and no longer being a part of them. It's all very scary.
When you spoke about someone befriending you then leading you to a mentorship group, my heart rate went up. I’ve definitely dodged bullets intentionally and unintentionally in this city. Tjo

Girl!!! i got out almost 3 years ago. i was introduced to this cult through a friend of mine, who is sadly still in it, during lockdown, so our lessons took place online. When lockdown was over we started going to the Cpt CBD place. I was in it for almost 6 months and ignored so many red flags. Gosh.. I eventually told my "cell leader" that i was out, it didnt go to well. I eventually asked a question which was "So you tell me, that if I am not part of this church, God will not talk to me anymore?" her eyes opened so wide in shock and suggested I meet with the pastor and ask that question. I said no thank you and left. I have to say though, I don't think my friend realises its a cult, because she has such a heart for God, she thinks she is being obedient. And they don't really encourage discernment.
It's so sad that it is our friends that recruit us and introduce us to the cult. As "brainwashed" as they may be and like you say, they are being obedient to what they believe to be true - it still just sucks. Because you have to have empathy for them but at the same time, it's like damn - open your eyes. Wake up! This ain't it. I'm happy for you that you were able to get out.

I been through this cult twice. They are so rampant in Cape Town. They have their little groups all over gosh! And they force u to attend they dont care how stressed you are about work and studies and assignments that are due, they are so good at manipulating people to attend and in handling doubts and objections regarding the doctrine they teach. I left when they were preaching how its ok to "lie" and that Jesus himself lied once. I know Jesus was without sin, he was a lamb without spot and blemish. They would teach some things i didnt agree with so i didnt end uo staying till the entire course ended. These people target young Christians looking for friends.

I'm sorry that you experienced the thick of it. Thank you for sharing. I have moved to Durban and I can't tell you the amount of times I have been stopped by them even here. They are working HARD! Yup, targeting young people who are walking alone. Lol, the human engineering and manipulation is on another level. How are you encouraging lying and being deceptive? Blows my mind really.

Same 3 times. 1st one I was Agnostic when I joined. It started clashing with my school work then I quit. I told the guy ,did he not shout at me and tried to manipulate me by saying I’m leaving God. 😮 that was traumatic
2nd time I joined as a Christian , I thought God was answering my prayers of wanting Christian friend group. So it was a youth group picnic kinda thing. So it ended up not being successful.
3rd time. Friend I met at youth group. Invited me to see her mentor. Next thing I’m in a bible study, when I tell you I wanted to faint coz I’ve been going thru a lot this year and I told them numerous times that I don’t wanna do this. The friend was there to take me back into this cult. The are instances where I’d get suspicious that these ppl know each other. Then I saw Lisa’s TikTok warning about this cult . I blocked them all . Did they not come to my room(dk how they got my room no.) knocking on my door for 3 hours , putting letters on my doorstep, sending me emails through my student emails, saying they brought a gift to make me feel better 😭👋
Decided to watch people’s testimony of getting out of this cult
This is hectic and unfortunately it’s real life😭😭my mom almost had a similar experience with Scientology but luckily those red flags were very red to her so she immediately left.

Good to hear from you Lisa! Sorry to hear that you went through that. I also experienced this but fortunately it didn't get to attending classes level. I met the ladies at a PnP at Ferndale of Republic and told me about a bible study group, we exchanged numbers but because of my schedule i just couldn't make classes. They would call all the time to "remind me". I ended up blocking them. I've noticed that Ferndale on Republic is a popular spot for them to recruit.
Some time later while i was at Cresta exclusive books, i came across another lady who told me that "I radiate the light" and went on to tell me about the same "bible study". I told her that I couldn't make the times. We left it at that. I learnt later that it's a cult and they recruiters.

My sister-in-law introduced me to this, so I was keen to learn. I don't go to classes as everything is on whatsapp. A lady sends me a video of the lesson and then I get 3 questions, then I send her the answers. A day or 2 later she will call me on whatsapp and discuss the whole lesson. Praise me for my good answers.
Somehow I was uneasy about this and googled them...I was shocked! What will they gain? Why are they doing this? There is also no money involved. I have finished the 6th lesson, and as from today things will start getting more intense. 2 people already contacted me; people I don't know.
So I am going to pull out, and thank you so much for telling us. I do, however want to do a Bible study but I will find it elsewhere.

Also knowing me, I wouldn’t have continued after they insisted I come. Nothing is ever that deep that I must be there, I decide what is a must and what isn’t
They are really professionals at reeling a person in... the cult got me in Pietermaritzburg, I do think they are still here somewhere but I made it out from there... I started asking the wrong questions to them so they started pushing me like more aggressively... coming to my office, trying to meet up daily, reeling my children in kuningi shem...

My daughter joined this church. Turned our whole family upside-down. She changed completely became anti-social. She now refuses to write her name ir sign. Its a lot, she gave away her everything. Clothes phone laptop money etc cut her id card. Madness nje. She insist that the church is right and we her family are wrong.
I'm so sorry to hear that. They take away your identity. Kub'hlungu. Especially when they also make you turn against your family.
Don't give up on her. My mother fasted and prayed for me and that's when my spirit started finding unrest in the church and I eventually left.

I’m from Joburg and when I moved to Cape Town I almost joined something that sounds like this. Maybe it was the same thing. I ran when I saw the red flags.
I didn’t stay long enough to find out what the name was. They wanted to meet up when I wanted to leave. It was at some building in Cape Town CBD.

They are so damn good shem, i meet two ladies also at Edgars and they where so sweet hey. They introduced themselves and told me about their cell group, bare in mind i am at a time where i needed God the most, wanted his presence in my life. I gave them my number cool, tomorrow i get a call from one of them telling me about the zoom meeting. Attended the meeting and it was great enjoyed the space.
After that yoooh the manipulation got so real, the rules being shady as well they where on my neck 24/7 then later on i googled them and what i saw was shocking about them. I immediately blocked them.
