Glad you got it sorted, when I swapped my rad hoses for silicon ones i found those clips that are on the old rubber hoses didn't have enough pressure to seal the silicon hose on correctly, (18 year old clips) and it leaked a little when hot, swapped to stainless hose clips that tighten like the ones on the intake hoses and it solved the slight leak. Just in case you have a similar issue with yours at some point.
Happe new ep3 owner since last summer, fully stock with low milage while always parked in the garage. I'll try to keep mine stock but its hard when I see how good yours sounds. I started watching your vids from time to time and they are really enjoyable! Very painful to see where you had to park it in this video, its like worse than the actual hose/engine problem itself that you fixed Glad it as an easy fix and lets hope nothing more comes up. looking forward for more of your content man, keep it up! I love your vids where we can just enjoy the car trough your vids while also following the upgrades and mods. Anyway love the content, wouldn't mind some more pov driving content but all content on your ep3 is welcome anyway
You aren't the first person that has said that I am a bad influence for the mods! Haha! Yeah, the unfortunate location is more upsetting really! I am glad you are enjoying the content though! Appreciate the support!
Great vid Ollie doing mine today my plug yellow I used rad flush amount of rusty water came out omg worth doing people next job gear box oil I need order from tegiwa
This happened to me with my ep3 around the same time it happened to you 🤣🤣 Mine ended up being my radiator cap. My car literally almost exploded because of a $12 cap 😳 I watch my temp, so the second I saw smoke, I looked down and watched it go from cool to RED. I have no idea why the cap decided to just blow, but I read that some people change theirs every 60,000 miles just because. It’s fine now. I feel lucky that’s all it was
That's crazy. I have the Spoon Sports radiator cap that has a higher pressure point before popping off. Could be worth looking into for the future if it happens again
I replaced all my hoses with epdm flexible wire reinforced hose. Just bought a few metres and cut to suit. Doubt I’ll ever need to come back to it again.
Had the same issue with mine. The same hose just came off. Peak time traffic aswell my luck. Id replace those clips with hose clamp. Never had it pop off again.
The original one definitely needed to go on further! Haha! The new one can't go on any further due to the design of the radiator and part on the engine.
@@OllyRoss Ah sweet. Thanks for the tip, I was always OCD with that and didn't realize you can use tap water to flush. Awesome videos as well by the way - recently acquired a 2002 ep3 from Japan and been using your videos as references! On a sidenote, What are your thoughts on Tegiwa parts? I was thinking of getting a Tegiwa front strut bar as it's one of the only bars that fit around the GruppeM intake.
As none of it will be left in the system, it shouldn’t be a problem. I never started the car with the water anyway. Only once the system was full with the coolant. Thanks!! I am glad they are useful for you! Nice choice though! Lots of lovely bits as standard! Yeah, I’d it is your only option, you shouldn’t have a issue with it. I personally don’t even run one so I can’t comment for sure!
Haha! I actually get breakdown cover through Honda when I get my car serviced so I am covered. I really couldn't be bothered with all of that when the car was so close to home and I had a pretty good idea what the problem was though. Haha!
Nice to see it was an easy fix. I'd be surprised if it was anything else with it being a Honda!
Yeah, very glad I got away lightly with this one!

Thanks! Wow, sounds like yours definitely needed doing then! 👍🏻
Another very informative video good stuff olly but could you stop so I can do some vids on my jdm ep3 please 😂🤣
Thanks man! I am so sorry about this! Haha! Do the videos anyway!!
EP3..... LEGENDARY CAR 💯💯
You know it!!
haha the way you describe things is great and funny at the same time cheers dude 👍🏻
And you are only seeing the stuff I leave in! I ramble so much that I get rid of 2/3rds of the video! 😂😂😂

That is a good shout too
Which size hose do you recommend mate, my ep3 just developed this problem earlyier? Cheers

Yeah, it's always at the worst time! Yeah, I definitely need to change the rusty one at least!
Do you know where the min and max level is for the coolant? Can’t work out how to find it on mine.
I don’t actually! I’ve only ever done this full flush so I just filled it up with the amount it said online.
Another great video only thing I’d say that top hose looks like it needs to go on further

@@OllyRoss I’d slice a notch out and push it up to the rad. U don’t want the same issue on the way to mimms 😂
@@craiggibson3523 Haha! Imagine not making it to that because of this! At least I would know what the problem is this time! Haha
@@OllyRoss image that! Ur be spending most of the day fixing it lol. I’ll bring a tow rope if u like🤣🤣🤣
That's some bad luck, but at least it wasn't too bad to fix it 👍
Yeah, I definitely got away lightly here!
hey mate, at 6:40 what have you fabricated with the sheetmeetal and what does it do? behind the shift linkages
It is the heat shield for the Tegiwa induction kit
The same thing happened to mine and it's the spring clips get really weak and lose tension
Yeah, it was definitely caused by that
6:53 When you said 'plain water', did you fill it with water from the tap or distilled water?
Just tap water. As it was just a flush through I didn’t bother with distilled. If I was running it in the car then I would use distilled water

Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it!
That’s an absurd amount of bird shit 🤣
Absolutely insane! I didn't really show it in all its glory either! It was worse than what you can see!! All of that in only 3 days!!
Seems like the bird had a good curry
A good detailing video to get all that bird shite off now? 🤣
Yeah, that would be good if I knew what I was doing! Haha!
I never get any of the kaizen links to work...anyone else have this problem
Yeah, sorry. They have closed down the website and decided to shut up shop
Hi Blue Anti freeze lasts one year, Red lasts three years .
Oh fair enough. I guess we shall see in a years time! Haha
