Thank you for a REAL tutorial! No stupid loud music, running hither-and-yon...figuring things out as you go... This vid should be a lesson for ALL You Tubers. This is how info is passed. If you want to show of your skills or coooll base - DON'T call it a "tutorial". Rant Over. Great ideas - I've just returned to the game and don't know about those cool canisters. Will def dig into them! Thanks again!!
I wish the canisters always had one item on the top, like when it's full, and you could grab it and another would pop up, until it's empty. then it could also auto fill printers just like a silo, seems like a bad design choice. good video!
I am using large type b with a large canister on the front with a medium storage platform on the front with an auto arm on the rear with a ring of auto arms for transport to each container as they go through the front always has eight at all times in the end. It is very expensive in the end to build 24 to 28 large cansters not to mention the 60 auto arms you have to build and Rgts to power them all roughly you need 40 to 50 RGTs to power everything.
Nice storage system's. I already have 1 that also has smelters so it takes the resources around the system then in the smelters and then in my storage system very effective. Before the update I had to build a timer that would turn off the arms then restart the arms with another timer. So it was a timer that ran into another timer.
Adding smelters is a nice addition. Before the update I also had to reset my auto arms with timers a lot. Most of my big sorters didn't work very well because of the auto arm issues, I glad they fixed them.
Yeah! I have a similar system where all the resources go up one side of the line, storing those that are used in their natural state and those that have already been refined, refining all others in the Smelters before running them back down the other side of the line to be stored in their appropriate Canisters. I only have 16 Canisters and 4 Gas Cylinders in the line as I have a separate Hydrazine plant and a Nonocarbon plant which houses the Graphene, Steel, and Titanium. The remaining composite resources I make as and when required. And the Atmo Condenser produces and stores the other two Gases.
I like having resources always ready to grab but I haven't gotten to the point where I can make nano carbon yet. I think I'll use your last storage layout without the gas but add on a large storage silo full of storage silos and leave all the outputs on. Lol I would just set all the silo outputs to one button.
Noob here... How did you mount the platforms to the wall without them falling? I guess that you can lock them, but won't they fall before you can do that?
The one problem I find with canisters is, if one of them runs empty and you activate the output of another one, it will start spilling into the empty one. Is there an easy way to avoid this? I usually just take the canister from the platform, extract the materials, turn output off and put it back, but it's kinda uncomfortable

My base is a complete and utter mess. Thank you this is really helpful!
Very nice. I like the look of the X Large B for storage. The last idea was good for saving space but is a little over crowded for my liking 😎

I just chuck everything I have in a pit

I’m pretty sure auto arms can take stuff out of canisters without having to click output. Hope this helped
I'm currently trying to store all resources in large canisters, takes forever lol
