Wow, well it’s now January of 2024 and my 2014 challenger just stopped detecting the fob. Fortunately I had a second fob that got it going. I’m hoping to figure this out so it doesn’t happen again! I wonder if anyone here figured something out?

Thank you! I was having battery problems with my 2016 Challenger Skat Pack and the weak battery would either work or not. I had it on charge hoping I could get it going before they arrived. I think at this time, my key fob stopped working. I go back in the house and you made it possible to get the R/T started. Thank you! Multiple failures. These cars need a lot of crank amps, turns out that I have a bad cell at 5 months which is a make or break for the starter. OK now to fix this too.
I keep a spare battery (CR2032) in my console for just this situation. Once you have replaced the battery, just do exactly what exoman did and it will reset itself and you will be golden. If you notice a white scatpack chally wave at you , that's me. Your friend from wrightsville.
some fobs (like mine for my 2007 Dodge Challenger) actually contain a key. You simply flip the plastic switch and give it a tug and the key comes out. So rather than being stranded you can simply unlock and start the car the old fashioned way.

I get out and walk 50 feet away from the car. When I come back it works. If that doesn't work you can use a screw driver to pop the button off of the push button start. Then insert the key from the remote and start the car like in the days of old. Chrysler products and Mercedes cars have this capability. You are never really stuck.
So if your car wont read your fob for whatever reason here is the fix. With the door open, do the touch start like this video explains but without stepping on the brake. The lights will come on around the button. When it lights, there is a small top pocket on the door. Drop the fob in it, shut the door, step on the brake and start the car. Gotta do it pretty quick and it will learn the fob. Sounds nuts but my daughters dart had the battery out of the car for awhile and when I reconnected it, it lost the signature for the fob. The fob has a small chip in it that you can see when you open it to put the battery in. It doesn't need batteries in it for the car to read this chip, kind of like a gate badge at a plant. It just has to be really close to the button, like when you use it to push the button. Doing the above procedure puts the car in learn mode and there must be a reader in the door. Anyways there is an indian guy on youtube that shows how it's done if you need, but it's not voodoo or a lie. It really works if you get it right
Same happened to me 2016 ram limited 3500 4x4.. ran in house grabbed 2nd key.. when back home. 1st key worked again and still works 4 months later. SO... NOT A LOW BATTERY
That might be like a dead key fob batter if it's not detecting but also if you use a wireless charger orna portable wireless charger it creates it's own magnetic field and if you're holding your phone while it's charging wirelessly and keys in the same hand it won't detect it until you get your charger away from it.

You guys are correct my comments are based on Australian costs and coal based electricity. Remember though the pollution starts when the car is being built. Real comparisons are hard to get as car manufacturers are not always truthful very far from it. My info is also very second hand, but roughly right. A lot still needs to be done. Soon I hope. I have a '19 Challenger and just started having this happen to me. It won't recognize the key fob when I put my hand under the door handle or when I get into the car. I've used this method to start it. It's irritating!
Update: the dealership put a dead battery in my fob. They told me they replaced it. Not sure why since I didn’t ask them to. I bought a new battery and the problem is gone.

That push button start module in the Challenger is not cheap the module with a fob is $300.00 additional fobs are $160.00 plus dealership fob activation looking at roughly $1,200.00 if you got the module with fob and 2 extra fobs with the key blanks
Thats why you buy key FOB insurance. I can get 2 new key fobs a year if I lose mine or break it (at no cost). I don't know if all dealers have the option for it though.
Thats was only temporary for mine. 2017 charger daytona. Keyless door sensors wont work 7 out 10 times. Key fob not detected bs. Key fob has left the vehicle bs. Im frustrated. Changed my batteries.
I have a SRT8 6 Speed, mine has done that before what I did while I was in the vehicle I went on ahead and locked it and then unlocked it and hit the push button fired right up

My '14 Dodge Charger SXT Plus wouldn't respond to the key FOB whenever I went to one particular shopping center. I wish I'd have known to try this. The first time it happened, I used the key to unlock the door, but the alarm sounded until I managed to trick it. It wasn't until it happened a 2nd time that I figured it out. I first used the key to manually unlock the door, but before I opened the door, I found the key FOB then responded to the commands. Now I know of two fix its.
someone in the parking lot was jamming your signal and trying to steal your code. If its not working at you farm, the fob just needs a new battery. That's it
Nope, it didn't work for me. When I opened the door, the alarm went off, and trying this did nothing. It keep saying no fob detected and also with the alarm on and off.

I had same problem in taxi toyota orion was my fault I changed the lock setting in the screen and was stuck just like you read the manual in the car and said to hold the key on the button as you had to do for 3 seconds problem fixed no need for an ubar then it was an anti thieft device
Chrysler is known for it's wireless keyless systems to fail. I know this because my jeep wrangler does the same thing when I'm out in certain areas. But when I get home it works fine. I is cause by other RF "Radio Frequency" in the area. Now matter how many times I hit my button on the remote the locks do not respond until whatever RF stops doing whatever is doing from blocking my remote. Hard to explain but there are lots of RF signals around us that will block the simplest things even keyless keys for the cars. I have a RF reader the reads RF signals in the area around me. And in certain area there are ones that match the keyless for the Chrysler vehicles. Hope this info is helpful.
I have a 2013 Challenger V6, and have this problem, I tried doing what is done in this video and it worked. But I think I may know the problem, the only time it has happened is when I pull the car all the way in my carport where it is in range of a motion detector. I am not sure, but is it possible the motion detector interferes with the signal from the fob chip and the car? Does anybody know if this is a possibility?
I was confused; until I saw here was no mechanical key. I have a Toyota RAV. Ya can use the key when the clicker does not work. Seems yours is stepping backwards!
I’m going to create an adapter to plug my RV into that Tesla charging station. Before I do that...I’m finishing my gas can retrofit kit that allows people to pour gas actually out of the can.

Just wanted to say, I just had this issue and was sceptical that it only worked cause her vehicle was already working correctly. But sure enough Every push to start has a near field communication sensor in the vehicle.. so sure enough, I push my fob into the button and it recognized it and started.. still says fob not detected but I could drive it!
Most people don't know but the key fob takes two batteries I had so many issues tryna figure out wat the problem and I only had one battery on the keyfob the whole time

I could not see her put the key fob in because the 'photographer' was busy catching her 'good side'.. and then on the other side I don't see a key fob hole... or her key fob except for that thing in her hand.

It's not a battery issue. Mine tells me if the key fob battery needs to be replaced. It's some type of glitch. But I did hand lock my doors prior to this happening
You can always leave the keyfob on the left cup holder and push the start button to start the car. if you push the button with the keyfob you'll reprogram the keyfob to the car. (ONLY WORKS) on key fobs that were already programed to the car.

If you place it close enough to the start button you may get 1-3 last starts. Take it to the dealer. They will give you a new battery or FOB.

Change batteries and keep spares in glove compartment. You can use the key inside the key fob to get into the car and then change the battery.

Your key fob will also not work if it is against your cell phone so make sure your phone is in another pocket/area of your purse etc...

Yea it’s just a temporary fix.. ultimately you’ll most likely need a new battery for your key fob. But until then... this should work

That’s a temporary fix. You need to replace or reprogram your module

We just called our dealer. Something with the handle and so many times to code it in with the key fob.
