It's amazing how few mechanics use eye protection especially while using an angle grinder.
it's called the "safety squint". we all use it...some better than others.
I only use it when using power tools, or things I know will leave dust or shrapnel. Otherwise, they get all foggy and it's more worrying than not having them on

The trouble is, the preferred tool used by the thieves is just as effective at removing protective cages as it is at removing the converters.
True, but it adds time to the 'job.' Thieves usually want to do their 'work' as quickly as possible. If they see a cage on your car, they are likely to bail and find another one without. It's the "I don't have to outrun the bear, I just have to outrun my friend" situation.

Thieves hate work, thats why they steal. Easy money is the only kind they're into. Make it just alittle too much like work and it will deter just about every single one of them. Granted I agree about the mesh cage in the video, too easily dealt with, but some 1/4 steal bars or a coil spring from a strut will do the trick.

0:50 That's not an oil leak, that's a patented automatic chassis lubrication system. It keeps the frame of the tractor from rusting out. I guess one could assume it's an oil leak as you do have to occasionally refill the oil more often than most other tractors.

I love these videos. Makes me glad we have a WOF/MOT test system here(Warrant Of Fitness/Ministry Of Transport) Every six months, it is mandatory to have your vehicle inspected at a registered garage to detect EXACTLY this kind of failure BEFORE it gets as bad as some of these are.
MOTs do pre-empt a lot of these kinds of failures, but the primary purpose of the MOT is to make sure the car is roadworthy, specifically, that it isn't dangerous to the driver or other motorists. A car with a frame rusted like Swiss cheese isn't going to pass MOT, but a car with a blown head gasket might. A car with bald tyres isn't going to pass MOT, but a car with electrical problems might.
And of course, just like state inspections in the US, you can fake an MOT as well. To its credit, the MOT does a lot as far as keeping dangerous cars off the road, which IMO is more than can be said for the US system.

This took place in the CBD of Sydney, Australia. It was a marketing stunt done to promote Furphy's new lager - Furphy Crisp Lager. The truck here has no engine in it and was intentionally engineered to fit in the spot between the two buildings. In one of the articles I've read, it required a team of construction workers, a crane, and two civil engineers to get that small truck into that peculiar position.

That looks like a split rim tire. More then likely the guy heard the rim pop as it was about to give way.
Split rims are by far the most dangerous things to mess with on any vehicle.

I work on cars/semis/trucks/fourwheelers/tractors, basically anything with an engine. But in my 18 years on this earth i have NEVER in my entire life see a engine run while missing half of the engine. I can see a gasoline engine running, but thats a diesel it is a compression based engine, the fact that its idling on THAT, blows my mind, before you say anything, yes i know some tractors are actually gasoline powered engines, that sound like a diesel, but thats a diesel.
