Hi, interested in why you switched strings? I’ve been playing with Multifeel for a couple years now, and I like it. What do you find different about the Yonex Super 850? I’ve never tried that string.
I tried Gamma Pro once and it was stiff, not plush. The tension may have been too high. X1 Biphase was softer but may have been strung too low because it lacked control. Sometimes you don’t get the ideal tension before trying a different string. And hybriding also can make it more complex. To get the best value, there is an ideal tension to put strings in - but you kinda have to know the string and your setup. Multi’s and Syn Gut’s will bed in and eventually lock up the string bed. I have, however, had massive amounts of topspin from synthetic gut in lower tensions. But organizing the stringbed is aggravating. If the stringbed locks up around the time it’s lost tension, that’s pretty ideal for cutting.

Initially I had X-One Biphase on my Phantom 93P. When I switched to natural gut on that racquet the difference in comfort was barely noticeable. But let's keep in mind that the racquet is a flexible one. When I used Biphase on my recently acquired Wilson Pro Staff it was a different story. Yes, I have elbow history and I used 18 gauge (not the best option to absorb vibration) but still Biphase did not do its job and I had to restring the racquet with Wilson Sensation Control. Way better solution for my arm.

Technifibre Multifeel is another good $10 multi. It has a semi-solid core surrounded by filaments so it plays a little crisper than most others. I just strung my Yonex vcore pro 97 310g with Wilson velo MLT 16 @ 60lbs and hit with it yesterday - it feels great!
Did you know technifiber makes the nxt line strings for Wilson and the nrg are the same model. Also Andre Agassi supposedly used prince synthetic gut 16 from time to time early in his career at 70 tension before switching to hybrids. So you could put it in your demos they cost less and are good enough for control at high tension.
First off, I've been enjoying your channel - thanks for sharing your views and knowledge. Funny how you can get a feeling from a string just by how it goes into the racquet. My "honorable mention" is Dunlop Pearl, now discontinued, because it strings a lot like poly, and gives something like a hybrid set-up but you can do it one-piece. In terms of multi's, I wonder what your opinion is of the old Tecnifibre 625 TGV ... which I'm told was a precursor to the x-one biphase AND the NRG2. For me, that is the string that was all time the closes approximation to gut, but unlike the x-one biphase, that string was really really tough. It was also kinda gummy, and just like you said about the NXT, you could be playing with it frayed down to 50% and you could still hit away without breaking the string. I got my hands on some 625 a couple years ago and decided to put it in my vintage Wilson racquet; the coating crumbled off it as I was stringing it... the fibers were like silk. I have this sinking suspicion that some professionals were still getting it up to a few years ago, as I found some shop in Europe which, at least according to Google Translate, says 625 is one of the options they will string with. Maybe they just bough pallets of the stuff in the 1990s... who knows. It was not a crisp sting. I don't think you get much from either of the replacements in a hybrid setup that you don't get from a cheap $5-10/set syn gut. For hybrid, I want something that is going to pocket well but be tough enough to hold up to the friction from the poly. I second the comment asking for your recommendation of the top 10 strings (5 multi + 5 poly) for hybrid stringing.

I don’t have a top five yet as I am new to the poly filaments. I just use the Yonex Rexis speed, and the strings moved around a lot and broke after just three or four hours of play. Not great. It felt really good until it broke, But it really has to last longer. Poly strings were too hard on my elbow and I used to use a hybrid gut/nylon and it was pretty good. But too expensive.
Quasi Gut, Vanquish, Quasi Gut Armor, Premier Touch, FXP Tour (discontinued) - in reverse order of top pick. Always looking for an alternative to natural gut, the holy grail.
I like your choices but you got to give a shout out to Wilson Sensation and Gama Live Wire on price alone. Keep up the good work. It’s a shame all of your viewer don’t live in the same area. It would make for some great play and exchanges of thoughts.

Thanks for your review on multifilament strings. I think I first came across Technifibre strings back in 1991. My supplier RMS sold loose sets, not individually packaged Technifibre 515. I also got sets of Technifibre 416 in light pistachio color which was Henri LeConte's signature string. I even used 315 which was a thinner gauge and strung a few 747 designed for wide bodies like the Wilson Profile and Prince Thunderstick. I believe the number represented the amount of multifilament fibers. My first impression of this string was "Wow"! It was unbelievable. TF started designating 515 SPL and now called NRG2. NRG2 and X-One Bi Phase are great strings. You did not mentioned pre-stretching requirements for any of these strings as I believe Technifibre still recommends it for theirs.

Kaiser De Leon 1. Strings on mains define main behavior of string bed 2. Strings on crosess adds what do you need If you put natural gut or multi on the mains, you will have tons of control and feel + co poly on the crosses for spin ( natural gut + luxilon alu rough ) Etc..
Wow man thanks for the info. That’s crazy I never new that. Definitely would’ve helped with my junior and college career. Idk why a lot of great tennis players are uneducated about the strings?

If the stringbed locks up around the time it’s lost tension, that’s pretty ideal for cutting.
use head rip control 16 it has great control, good spin, most durable multi doesnt break for months, holds tension well, decent power, cheap literally has no negatives except a bit underpowered compared to other multi's
Regular Gamma tnt is my go to. It never frays and gives predicatable power that's not as trampoline-like a la x one bi phase or nxt power.
good job presenting this and the 5 poly best strings. Like you, i am used to Co-Poly 48 lbs on main. on the cross, i have been using plain and simple synthetic gut as they feel good to me. I recently tried the boojie Gamma TNT but found it to be too soft as a cross string. I will try it as full bed and see how i like it. thank you for your suggestion.
Technifibre xone biphase is my go-to string, amazing feel, shreds fast though.

I think the idea of multifilaments is to be close to gut but half the price. Gamma Professional is clearly the best. I use Gamma XP when doing a hybrid since Gamma Pro is 20+.
no head rip control is the best. use head rip control 16 it has great control, good spin, most durable multi doesnt break for months, holds tension well, decent power, cheap literally has no negatives except a bit underpowered compared to other multi's. super comfy also
I put the Head MLT on my Blade 98 Amplifeel model. Strung at 48. It feels so buttery!
Thank you for sharing your time and videos, I am learning a lot. I hope one day to own a tennis store.
Great review. I would like to ask how does the Triax compare to the x-one biphase, NRG2 and Babolat xcel overall? I am looking for a good multifilament to string in my mains with a co-poly in the crosses.
Great video...Thanks for putting it together. I am a big user of NRG2 in my Clash 100. I might try X-One next.
what about xcel?
If I wanna go hybrid, what would you propose I pair the Tecnifibre X-One Biphase with?
O man ! best explanation I've ever herd. Like, like , likes !!!
Very nice list and I have used all on the list. The value string works well and gives great bang for the buck. I like the Head velocity MLT crisp feel on a "main" with a Wilson sensation or NXT or NRG2 on the crosses.
How long did strings last

Velocity in Combo with Rpm Blast it’s amazing 👍👍

I think NXT was gummier maybe because they were using nylon back when. Now they are using polyurethane for the outer coating.
Excellent job dude. Thanks for sharing

Nice video - thanks! I use NXT or NRG2 most of the time. I’ll try your #1 and #2 rated multis some time this year. I switched to multis over a year ago because of wrist pain and those issues have gone away.

Love your channel. Would you rank mow 4 years later another multi in this list or did nothing worthy comenalong since this video?
Just wanted to say I love your channel and was wondering if you ever tried Volkl Power Fiber II?
Does "crisp" mean sharp, tinny almost metallic sound? I hate that. I like a dull pop sound on my hit
Hybrid set with natural gut on the main would be great. Thank you for your help.
Hello there! I love your channel. Please make a video about babolat xcel… since it is so popular, at least here in Brazil
Great review. Do these feel like there is more ball pocketing than polys?
Quasi Gut, Vanquish, Quasi Gut Armor, Premier Touch, FXP Tour (discontinued) - in reverse order of top pick. Always looking for an alternative to natural gut, the holy grail.
I like your choices but you got to give a shout out to Wilson Sensation and Gama Live Wire on price alone. Keep up the good work. It’s a shame all of your viewer don’t live in the same area. It would make for some great play and exchanges of thoughts.

Hello Harry. In terms of softness, is there much difference between tecnifibre multifeel and Tecnifibre X one biphase?
I love NXT, best main for luxilon alu power on cross
Can you review and compare the new Wilson NXT Soft? Thank you!

Nice video. I wish you would review your favorite hybrid setups.
Hey. Thanks for the great reviews. Which gauge of the technifibre xone biphase would hybrid best with luxillon ace 18? What’s the benefit of adding the ace 18? I’ve had elbow issues and I’m used to poly. Need control spin but comfort.
Hi. Thank you for making this review. I am thinking about trying the gamma professional that you recommended. Right now I use NRG2 17g at 56#. What tension would you recommend I use if I try the professional. Thanks.
Thank you for your videos.
Great video. Would you recommend stringing mains in poly 17g, and a multi soft in a 16g in crosses?
Yes, definitely! Unless you start to break the main really fast stick with this 17. Thanks for watching!
@@TennisSpin Ran the test, the mains in poly 17g and crosses X-one Biphase 16g. Both at 50 lbs. Son broke the crosses at 5-6 hours. For comparison on a full bed of poly he gets about 8-9 hours and he never breaks the crosses, its is the mains that always break. We playing with the tension a bit. He said it feels softer, but still prefers the full bed of poly.
another great video!
The best multi I’ve ever used was Dunlop Silk Pro. It, it’s not cheap.

Hi really enjoying your videos. I am looking to use either Multifeel 16g or X-One biphase 16g for my wife’s Clash 100L, what tension would you recommend? Thanks
Can you do a vid about the prince phantom lineup? I'm interested in what you have to say about the 93p, and some comparisons to the prestige mid
I am a bit confused by this video. In this one you put the Wilson NXT in your top 5 list. But in another video about strings for juniors, you toss that same package over your head and call it crap. So which is your final decision?
For a Pure Drive, i want to put Babolat VS on the mains. What should be a good non-poly cross? And what tension?
can u make a video of you playing tennis?
If you can.
Hi. Thanks for your videos. Prior to this one, I watched the one regarding why you hate Wilson Sensation and NXT. So I was a bit surprised you had NXT in your top 5.
I was just thinking the same
Because I like NXT, and he read my mind :)) J/K

Hi, i play with multi string because of my arm problem, but the strings move a lot. What is the best multi for that? Thank
Try Technifibre Multifeel.

I’ve been playing this game at a pretty high level since I was 10. I just turned 28 this year and I still don’t understand how hybrid works like 2 different strings on a racket. What’s the benefit? I would love some of your insight on this subject and also what do you think of YTEX strings just recently got sponsored by them. Thank you
Kaiser De Leon
1. Strings on mains define main behavior of string bed
2. Strings on crosess adds what do you need
If you put natural gut or multi on the mains, you will have tons of control and feel
+ co poly on the crosses for spin
( natural gut + luxilon alu rough )
Etc..
Wow man thanks for the info. That’s crazy I never new that. Definitely would’ve helped with my junior and college career. Idk why a lot of great tennis players are uneducated about the strings?
Kaiser De Leon .... trust me, they are educated a lot! And things i mentioned are just basics... ;) ...
good luck :)
Can you make a video discussing possible hybrid string pairings for different racket types? 🤠
How do they compare to the old standard Prince Synthetic 16 gauge in yellow of course.
Hi Harry,
Where would the new Tecnifibre Triax fit on this list? I know it wasn't available at the time of this video.

Im a beginner tennis player (just started 3 months ago). Will multifillament string suit for me? If so, what tension should I use on my babolat pure drive lite (275gr racket)?
*I read that pure drive is an intermediate racket and a beginner should be using head heavy racket. I just dont want to buy a new racket as there’s this pure drive lite laying around unused at my home.
I like soft strings and use X1 Biphase. I will also use NXT Comfort. I used to use Prince Premier, which is also soft but loses tension faster. I also have a harder time with clamp slippage on Premier
use head rip control 16 it has great control, good spin, most durable multi doesnt break for months, holds tension well, decent power, cheap literally has no negatives except a bit underpowered compared to other multi's
Any thoughts on crosses VS mains? Is Tennis Spin using the "normal" poly in the mains, multi's in the crosses? My #1 and #2 pretty much mirror his, as well as his thoughts on Wilson NXT. Didn't it used to be more durable?
My top multifilament is tecnifibre Multifeel black
If you hybrid Multifeel black with Babolat rpm Blast y super hybrid
Nice video, but NXT frays and breaks in two weeks, and the live-wire stuff just breaks period. Wonder if you could review some hybrid setups?
Tim T try Alu power mains and nxt crosses. I actually love Luxilon Element mains and syn gut power cross. If you break strings often, that’s a great set up
@@stdawgg3649 Thanks, will try that. I just strung Alu power main with Gamma TNT cross at 52lbs in a RF97. Also did one with a full bed of Hurricane. Going out today to give them a "spin".

Hi Harry, I’ve been trying lots of combinations of multi strings with ALU power rough on my Yonex Vcore Pro 97 310, and I can’t seem to get as much bite or spin as I do with the Champs Choice set up. Do you have any recommendations on other strings I could try for better comfort and spin?
Are the string tension ranges for multi filament same as synthetic gut ? 50-65pounds
It's weird for me to hear NRG next to Technifibre. I always associate that name with Babolat.
I certainly agree with the Wilson NXT and the Technifibre X-One Biphase on the list. Personally, I like my multifilament strings to be made with polyolefin fibers so I'm including Head RIP Control, Iso-Speed Professional and Iso-Speed Control to my personal top 5 list.
Thanks for the review. Where is your store located. Website for your store?
No babolat strings?
