I love the way that in the end they made Elliot and JD getting back together feel so natural and didn’t try to force it into the script. There was no need for a grand gesture or a dramatic scene they could just slowly push the characters closer and closer until it really felt inevitable. Awesome writing!!!
@@johngallagher912 Just remember, don't watch the spinoff, even if the streaming service tries to convince you it is a "ninth season." There are only eight seasons of Scrubs.

The most amazing part about this is, that for the first time they did not start a relationship with some drama or big bang. If I remeber correctly, they interacted four times before that: 1)JD broke up with Alex and basically directly after that started dating Elliot. 2)They became sex-buddys, because Elliots life was a mess and JD had problems "down there" 3)Elliot broke up with Shawn, while they wanted to start living together. JD was jealous, but not ready for a relationship 4)Their "nearly-kiss" out of sheer panic. Elliot getting married (to the wrong guy), JD having a baby (with a women he did not love at all). This one though, the fifth time, they were completly fine with their lifes, no big drama, no real problems.
Life has it's ways of sorting things out for you. Most of the time in a bad way but after you get past that it will work out and even if it doesn't and it takes longer for you well.. you still have the experience to carry you through the rest of your life.
Who is watching this in 2020 and still believes this was the best TV series ever produced? Also, the background music, acting, performance, direction, writing everything was top notch for Scrubs.
The trope of the couple that always fights and breaks up, and then has a healthy relationship in the end isn’t one I see in real life... like ever. I agree with the premise that you should do what makes you happy, and these two did have chemistry... but ultimately it sends a message that the longer you’ve known someone and been around them, the more stable the connection becomes. And this is not reality and ignores the ultimate entropy of feeling. Just once it would be nice if the characters at least developed into people who were compatible, or had some kind of realization about what they want before falling back into a relationship. But it’s always just: “well we’ve dated everyone else so I guess it’s time to try again.” For a television show it’s sweet to see the characters you’ve grown to love end up together, especially because they are selected for each other based on their initial chemistry. But real life doesn’t work this way 95% of the time. In real life relationships, if you spend most of your time arguing and ending things, it’s a sign that the worst is yet to come.
@@VideoGuy232 While I understand what you say, it also sends the right message: "a relationship doesnt get you a good life (the contrary), a good life gets you a good relationship". It's not much about the chemistry, but rather the fact that they were stable people at this point, they didnt have much drama in their lives regardless
@@VideoGuy232 not mentioning the fact that they were already compatible...but there were issues with each other and other inner issues...let's say that they're like hurdles or obstacles...in the first seasons Elliot was neurotic, overly competitive, jealous, but weak-minded(she cried a lot, i mean that she took many hits at her emotions and break down easily...compared to other characters), and JD was anxious, self-destructive, annoying(some times), needy (for a father figure) among the other things...and they have been together but they were at different stages of their inner growth...
I know it was subtle, but in the last scene, JD walking with Elliot right past Kelso, then Janitor, then Perry, three of his former adversaries/rivals, and all of them just giving him a look or a nod, I can’t explain why, but seeing them just being accepted that way unquestioned made this scene feel very special.
It’s those subtle moments that I love. Seeing as how they’ve been an obstacle of sorts for JD over the course of the show, them doing this, along with other subtle moments in the past, is what I adore.
this hook up is personally my favorite. it's a realistic adult discussion of pros and cons and finally took a older and wiser person to reach an ultimate decision.
I like how I starting watching scrubs from the beginning and I saw how JD character started maturing as the season's went along of course it took him a while to get there, but I like how it was noticeable.
Sadly almost every comment here is about 8-10 years old. I just want to say, that Kelso is one of the wisest (and badass) 'old guys' in the history of sitcoms. Also I love this scene when JD and Elliot has 'the talk'. Even if they weren't getting back together (which they did) they still would get a closure and could move on their lives with less mental burden from the past.
Kelso was such an amazing antagonist at first and a loveable mentor later on with some hints and notes why he was the way he was in the beginning is a reason i loved this show.
this show made me cry and laugh the same amount i think. or maybe i was going through depression working 80 hours a week at the age of 20. lol scrubs helped me
JD and Elliot have one of the best relationship arcs, largely because they sucked at it at first. In the first three seasons they were so terrible together that the show called them out on it, resulting in JD basically pushing her to break up with her boyfriend then dumping her shortly after. Then they spent the next five seasons repairing that relationship, making them friends and then finally getting together as a couple. Feels a lot more meaningful than if it was a smooth ride from start to finish, and goes along with the show's central theme of self-involved assholes learning to get over themselves.
I love that Janitor gives JD a little head nod as he and Elliot walk by. It just seems so out of character for him. I was opposed to JD ending up with Elliot... but at least the writers did it right. I like how this scene was done.
I'm embarrassed to admit that I honestly DID want them to get back together. Why? Because I was so sick of the "Will they, won't they"... that lasted eight years. I felt like in a lot of ways Elliot didn't deserve J.D. She kept messing things up. Like, royally. And when he decides that they are a perfect fit, but he had no passion for her... Didn't they end things for good when she slept with Dan? But... I heard they finally did put them together at the end because that's what all the viewers were clamoring for. There was just no other way to end it.

No big "will they/won't they" finale, it just... Happened when it felt right
Actually considering JD's history, he will probably break it off after a few weeks.
@@johngallagher912 nope this one stuck

Scrubs does not get enough credit for how it handled the J.D-Elliot Relationship end game.
And then to think that there were people that didn't like how this was executed

"Actually, I normally get paid twice this" we'd all love for that plan to work out. haha
One of the greatest episodes of Scrubs.
These two had matured massively by Season 8. It was just their time to be together again and for it to stick

Dr Cox the Hero you never expected
This the ten time they gotten back together
Thank God they got to end the series and give closure to the show. It would of been a shame if they never got to end it after NBC.
It's weird
